Guest Info Plot & Events

Current Month
4.2591 A.R.
9th Interval

Southern Winds has plotted events roughly every OOC week. This means our story is ever evolving and Southern Winds is changing. Events for the current month are listed here, once you've registered for an account.

Our roleplay time is pretty fluid. We allow you to play anything that may have happened in the past, but not in the future, as events that may affect the entire weyr may ruin futuristic plots.

We list Flights, Clutches, and Hatchings for both Dragons and Flits here, as well as whers.  There are Candidate events and classes and Crafter plots. A little bit of something for everyone.

See previous events here!

Feel free to say hello, guesties! Registered members can request a colored name here.

Remember,
this holds no IC consequence and is only for fun.

Welcome!

Hello and Welcome!

http://southernwindsweyr.net/Images/news icon copy.png We are a mature, 9th Interval AU Pern. We've destroyed almost the entire planet in a catastrophic event. While we feature 2 new mutations, we stick pretty close to canon. We've Ranks, roles, and positions for just about anyone who wants to get involved, with a relaxed community. Play and post at your own pace. Swing by and say hello!

Southern Winds uses a subaccount system to distinguish between Players and their Characters. So REGISTER with your Player Account Name and the admin will assign you your Character Subaccount once your character is approved!

Southern Winds is a Mature Roleplay. This means we allow for sexual, violent content that would be found in a struggling, 9th Interval Pern. Sex is common place in the Weyr and terrible deaths are no stranger here. As such, our players should be 18+. These themes are to be handled maturely at all times.

Southern Winds Weyr

Senior Journeyman Fisher Fisk
« Reply #1 on: April 30, 2016, 04:32:02 AM »
Snr Journeyman Fisher Fisk - finished now
Spoiler for Hidden:

Play By:
Tom Hardy
Biography

First Name:
Fisk
Nicknames:
Mister Fisk
Date of Birth:
02/03/2552 9th Pass (37 years)
Place of Birth:
Tillek Hold
Wife:
Arillia born 10/09/2554 (deceased, 2572 in the evacuation from Tillek to Fort)

Your Reflection...

Appearance:
Fisk’s hair can usually be found to be wild and knotted. Tousled by the sea wind and matted by the salt contained within it. In previous turns, he had been able to keep it under control, or it would be better to say that Arillia has been able to keep it under control, but since her death, Fisk can't seem to find the point in washing away the salt of the day.
He likes to keep his beard long and scraggly, preferring the gruff look, especially if it helps to ward off annoying holders. His plain clothes are often covered in a combination of water and fish guts and he doesn’t care to clean them up in his day to day life. He’s a fisherman, if people want to talk to him, they'll probably have to deal with a little bit of fish.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: Fisk lost his wife in the catastrophe, Arillia was pregnant at the time of her passing, and he had just become accustomed to the idea of crazy ol’ him being a father. His loss crushed him, however his conscientious and pragmatic nature prevents him from being able to pin the blame solely on a particular group of people. Mistakes were made, and he believes they were not made for the wrong reasons.

Response to dragon color mutations: He is curious as to the nature of the different coloured dragons, but is not opposed to them as a rule. He is concerned that the black rider has become Weyrleader simply because Fisk worries about the further political effects that it will have, especially since there are many outspoken against the new colours.

Who are you...

Likes:
The Sea – the calming rolling of the ocean, the sea spray on his face, salt on his lips

Harpers – the stories they tell – whether through the spoken voice, the lilting voice of song or the pounding tones of drums

Good company – whether it be a friend sharing in companionable silence or the company of a boisterous one just happy to share stories

Good food – food to fill you when your heart seems empty or simply food to warm you on a cold night, even more simply food to eat at the dawn, mid and dusk of day to quench the appetite

Dislikes:

Supercilious attitudes – anyone who believes that they are above others, (especially when they are not), bother Fisk greatly. He believes respect should be earned and it cannot be achieved through money or fear.

Close minded attitudes – basically anyone with an attitude problem gets on his nerves. Especially in this changing time on Pern, he believes that people should carefully consider everything and anything that comes their way, and not shut things out without fully granting it the time for thinking it deserves.

Dishonesty – he prefers to be straight and to the point, if you have something to say don’t bother to hide it from him, because if he has something to say he will be kind enough not to hide it from you

Strengths:

* PHYSICALLY FIT : Obviously Fisk has not lounged about in the sun for all of his turns, some, but not all. He has hauled, gutted, trawled and dragged his way through tonnes of fish in his lifetime which has left his muscles large and well-toned.

* ASTUTE : He had to meet a significant amount of new people during the time of constant threadfall, which has shaped him to be able to read situations and people carefully, especially when so many horrific events had occurred in so many lives.

* KIND : Fisk is deep down a kind person, he may hide it under a gruff exterior, but he uses his astute nature to read situations and understands when someone needs comfort or when someone needs space and will do so accordingly to their benefit.

* FAIR : Fairness is a trait instilled in him by his father, who believed that every person had their own story and their own trials, and it was up to an individual to not judge based on ill-conceived notions.

* INDUSTRIOUS : Fisk will always work hard at any task given to him, this does however involve him, in the first place, believing that the task has merit and warrants his time.

Weaknesses:

* BLUNT : Fisk’s way of speaking can be straight and to the point, so to some ears, may sound too harsh.

* GRUFF : After the death of his wife, he has developed a gruff demeanour to ward away those who would annoy him.

* HATRED OF PROLONGED CONFINEMENT : He loves the seemingly infinite expanse of the ocean, and therefore hates to be confined inside for too long without being able to see the sky or the sea.

* LACK OF COMPANIONSHIP : Since his wife died he has struggled to open up to someone else. On the surface, he believes that no one could ever fill the hole that his wife left, but deep down he is just afraid that we won’t be able to protect whomever he opens up to.

* OVERPROTECTIVE : Especially of those too young to be able to stand up for themselves, however it got him in a lot of trouble as a child because he wouldn’t hesitate to stand up to the bullying son of a Lord Holder, regardless of the sometimes severe consequences.

Describe Yourself:

* PRIVATE: ----- Fisk has trouble opening up to people, and if it’s too obvious that someone is probing, he wouldn’t exactly be happy.

* LOUD: ----- Some may find his loud demeanour too much for them, however, Fisk does try to tone it down for those who he notices are negatively affected by his boisterousness. He wouldn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable, but he does appreciate being able to sing loudly and off tune every now and then. Although his usual excuse of overconsumption has been largely wiped out the by 9th pass catastrophe.

* COMPETITIVE: ----- Fisk would always be up for a little bit of friendly competition. For example, if one started skipping stones right next to where he was skipping stones, he would probably start keeping track and therefore, he would have to win.

* HOPELESS ROMANTIC: ----- He believed that Arillia was his one and only true love. After all, who else would put up with a rangy fisherman like him?

The Magic Touch: He rips his nails up. He used to bite his nails as a kid, but as his hands got more dirty from fishing he would just peel the flaking nail edges off instead, leaving his with misshapen fat finger tips.

Personal History & Education

Mother: Harina, born: 01/11/2539 (deceased, 2552, giving birth to Fisk)
Father: Inarve, born: 24/04/2537 (deceased, 2567, rockfall accident)

Siblings: Sister: Miar, born: 15/07/2554

Children: Only child unborn (2572)

Craft: Fisher

Rank: Sr Journeyman

Date Apprenticed: 2566/14

Date Tapped: 2571/19

Specialty: Shallows fishing (bare hands and close reel fishing)

Education Details:
Fisk took to his studies like a fish to water. (Get it?) He had grown up playing in the rivers and creeks of the (slightly safer than Fort Island) Tillek coastline. When he had gone adventuring as a youth, his activities involved investigating the underwater lives of those mysterious fish creatures. This wonderment didn't leave him when he became an apprentice, or even now as a Journeyman. He is very interested in the little world that exits only for the various underwater creatures. Occasionally he will stick his head underwater, yes, even as a 38 year old, and pretend that he is looking at this underwater world from the point of view of a fish.
However, that didn't stop him from being able to do his duty. He understood the importance of fish in supporting the lives of many holds and in serving as a food source for the Pernese. He simply learned to kill quickly and humanely, to appreciate the animals as living and as dead.
Fisk became so engrossed in his studies that for most of them he became largely unaware of women, as, well being, women. It wasn't until he met his wife that he realised he needed to open his eyes.

Tell us a story...

* 2552, 0 Born to parents Harina and Inarve of Tillek Hold.

* 2564, 12 Apprenticed to the fisher hall after he was spotted grabbing a fish out of the water with his bare hands after crouching still over the surface for an extended period of time, waiting for his chance.

* 2568, 16 Meets the beautiful Arillia, and even though he had been intent on his apprenticeship, barely noticing women, he fell head over heels as soon as he saw her.

* 2568, 16 Due to the turbulent time period Fisk decides to take his chances and ask Arillia to marry him. She says yes.

* 2571, 19 Tapped on the shoulder and walked the tables to become a journeyman

* 2571, 19 The same night he gets promoted she tells him she’s pregnant.

* 2571, 19 Only a couple of falls later, the Fisher hall and Tillek falls to thread and the evacuation begins to take place

* 2572, 20 The evacuation takes its toll on Arillia and she catches fever, eventually passing with their babe unborn.

* 2573, 21 Fisk spends many years quietly grieving his wife, coming to terms with it only because there are so many others that have suffered similar fates to himself.

* 2582, 30 Promoted to Sr Journeyman Fisherman, as some of the few fisherman left, the promotion is unwanted but necessary. Fisk never thought that there would be so few of them left and accepts the promotion with the condition that he would not be asked to be promoted to Master if the time ever came.

* 2587, 35 Arriving at Southern Winds Weyr, he throws himself into the building preparations, despite having little to no experience he quietly learns and works hard, subsequently helping to set up the bare minimum requirements they would need to for everyone to live off fish if necessary.

Fisk fell to his knees, barely noticing the sharp pain that glanced through them as he did so. His eyes were glazed with tears that wouldn’t fall, so much so that even if he wanted to look up at the waxy and ashen face of the women he loved, he wouldn’t be able to see it.

The small croft around him seemed to ring with the silence. He had done all he could, but he was not a healer or more accurately, a miracle worker. The people who had lived here had done all they could, before they had to leave him to be saved themselves. But his Arillia had not been saved. Not by him. Not by anyone. As they had moved from hold to hold, trying to escape the everlasting thread, he had watched her waste away. He had watched her frame, so full with life, the life of her and the life of his child, slowly wither away. The food she ate no longer sustained her, and finally as the food he gave to her could no longer pass her lips.
“Arillia. My Arillia.” His choked voice sounded harsh in the silence of the cabin. “I’m so sorry.”

A dragon rider had come a few days before, grief has sunken his eyes from the horrors he had seen and he had simply looked down upon her and shook his head sadly.
“She won’t survive between. She suffers too much.”
Fisk could not stand the pity that linger in those eyes and had sent him away.

“Let me have a few more days and then come back.” He had stood in front of the cot as she shook with the fever coursing through her and the dragonrider had opened his mouth to protest. “Please, if she is buried when you get back I will go with you, if she lives…” He did not finish that sentence, they both knew that she would not live.

The dragonrider had simply left, unhappily pledging to be back in a sevenday, not wanting to waste anymore time, but unwilling to tear a man from his dying wife.

And so here Fisk was. Kneeling beside the stiffening body of his wife, whose breath had left her not long ago, whose swollen belly would never birth child.

When the dragonrider arrived back, there was a mound of freshly dug soil and no suffering woman in sight, just a man whose loss could only been seen in his eyes.

First Name:
Madak
Honorific:
M’dak
Nicknames:
N/A
Date of Birth:
2572 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Weyr
Dragon Color:
Brown
Impression Age:
2587/15
Wing Rank:
Wing Rider Beach Wing
Weyrmate:
None for now…

Your Reflection...

Appearance:
- Pretty boring dresser. Dull colours, nothing too fancy, straight cuts, not too ugly, not too flattering.
- Hair is tamed, he spends enough time on it in the mornings because his bed hair is atrocious, he needs to suitable in public after all.
- His eyebrows are thick and bushy
- His stubble is the only thing that he lets grow out a little bit, it makes him feel a bit more manly than his pretty average frame suggests, maybe its all the thick stockiness that he dragon exudes that makes him want to look a bit tougher

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe:
M'dak thinks the whole thing is pretty horrific, but he survived with most of his family in tact. He only wishes that the mistake hadn't been made in the first place. But the past is in the past, the people who are alive now must work together in order to make Pern great again.

Response to dragon color mutations:
As he grew up around the same time as S'bok and Neisoth he felt that they were just like every other Weyrling at the time, so he is not too bothered by the mutations. Only in the fact that everyone else seems so bothered by it and its creating tension, that's what worries him. He believes that the black and red dragons should be treated as befitting their actions, not simply because of what colour they are.

Who are you...

Likes:
SWIMMING - on a hot summer day, M'dak loves to go for a romp in the lake or the ocean with Dallarth
PLANS - he likes order and things to go to plan, if something doesn't then it means whoever made the plan obviously made a mistake
TRAINING - he likes order, so obviously he likes to train well and hard so that things go according to plan.

Dislikes:
PHYSICAL FIGHTS - he just thinks they're for men who don't know how to control themselves
FAILURE - he hates to fail, he's a perfectionist, if he fails at something, even minute, he feels like he had let someone down, especially his mother, Weyrlingmaster, that was an interesting childhood
BULLIES - he just thinks they're stupid, anyone who needs to pull someone else down to put themselves higher is just an idiot
SHIRKERS - anyone who shirks their duties are simply lazy and they are a detriment to the Weyr

Strengths:

* HONEST : If M'dak is going to say something he's going to tell the truth, he will not lie. However, over the years he has come to realise that there are things that people just don't want to hear, this has lead to M'dak shrugging a lot in response to a question if he believes that the truth is not going to be beneficial to him or the person he is conversing with.

* GOOD LISTENER : Despite not revealing much about himself to anyone, he is an incredibly good listener. He will sit with you for hours, nodding and smiling, as you tell him about the girl from across the Weyr bowl that you're in love with. Even if he can offer no sage wisdom, he knows that sometimes people just need an outlet for their emotions.

* LOYAL : Anyone who has done M'dak a service will know that he is loyal to his friends, family and his Weyr. Do something good for M'dak and you will have a steadfast supporter for the rest of your days. Provided that you are doing the right thing, of course.

* PHYSICAL STRENGTH : M'dak never shirked upon his chores and his duties, and as physical fitness is quite useful as a dragonrider, his muscles have been well-toned over the years.

* SENSE OF HUMOUR: Whilst M'dak does take many aspects of his life quite seriously, he can have a laugh occasionally, and when he does his wit is quick and to the point.

Weaknesses:

* JUDGEMENTAL : Whilst M'dak will not judge without reason, he is very quick to do so, if you do something that he believes is wrong, he will probably hold that against you for a very long time, at least, until you do something to prove yourself.

* QUIET : M'dak is not very good at giving people advice, or at saying the right things at the right time, he is very content to sit and listen, and if he doesn't have anything productive to add to the conversation, he will not do so. He words are sparing and only used wisely, which sometimes would discomfort those who feel that constant communication means respect or friendship.

* CAN'T EXPRESS EMOTIONS : In addition to using his words sparingly, he barely uses any words to do with love or emotion. If he is angry, he won't say it out loud, just bristle on the inside, if he has feelings for a woman, he won't say anything, just silently pine away. He simply does not understand how to express his emotions, perhaps he needs the right person to lure him away from this steadfast breakage he has between his brain and his heart.

* CANNOT DEAL WITH FAILURE : Any time he fails, or feels like he fails, M'dak will take it very hard. If he gave someone advice and it didn't work out, he will be very down on himself, and it would take him awhile to trust himself again. Perhaps that is part of his quietness and lack of communication, if he doesn't say anything, he can't be wrong.

* SOCIALLY AWKWARD : M'dak doesn't understand the finer emotional parts in life. If someone is making advances upon him, he won't really get it. The only thing he truly can comprehend, is when someone is overtly angry at him, or when someone gives him a direct order. Any emotions other than that, he'll probably stick his big foot in the situation.

Describe Yourself:

* SUPPORTIVE: ----- If you want someone to stand by you when you need them the most, just be a friend to him and he'll always be there. He'll listen to your heartbreak and be a shoulder to cry on, even if he won't give you any advice to help you out.

* PERFECTIONIST: ----- If M'dak is going to do something, he's going to do it right. There's no way that he will take on a task and not complete it to the best of his ability and even beyond. If he cannot achieve the goal, he will either learn how, or seek out someone else to help him.

* RESPECTFUL: ----- M'dak respects those who have earned the privilege. Weyrleaders, weyrwoman, wingleaders and anyone superior to him will receive his respect. Alongside those who have done him many a good deed in the past.

* HARD-WORKING: ----- All of M'dak will go into any endeavour he sets his mind to, along with being a perfectionist, he is simply hard working, if you give him a task he will work at it night and day until it is completed.

The Magic Touch: If there’s anything else you’d like to add, like habits or an addiction, please add it here.

Children: None

Tell us a story...

* 2572, 0 Born in Fort Weyr

* 2575, 3 Brother Conandus born. Madak having so many older siblings, especially girls, was pleased to have a younger brother that he felt he could be a good example to. The boys grew up quite close, as well as he did with all of his other siblings, and fostered his loyalty to those closest to him and, of course, you couldn't grow up in such a big family without a sense of humour.

* 2578, 6 Sister Tallorine impresses Green Shyuth. At 6 years old even Madak understands the significance of this. Tallorine is the first sibling (that he's met) to have impressed a dragon and followed in their parents footsteps. This fosters his hope that he too will get to impress the dragons that protect Pern each and every day.

* 2578, 6 Older sister arrives with her Bronze Wher Semusk. This even confused him a little bit, he hadn't met much of Semunda and had met even less of her Watch Wher. He wondered why she bothered bonding to a bronze, but perhaps they were quite a bit different from dragons after all. This led to quite an interesting conversation with his mother, as he asked what would happen to his sister if her bronze flew a gold Wher and it became the start of his learning about dragonriders view on sexuality.

* 2579, 7 Brother Terric born. After being able to be a big brother to Conandus, Madak was sort of disappointed when the next one also turned out to be a boy. Deep down he wanted a little sister to be able to protect.

* 2583, 11 Brother J’dan impresses Bronze Brynioth. As the brother which he looked up to quite a bit, Madak realises that the only thing he wants in the world is to be able to protect Pern with a dragon companion. He would be able to be officially considered a candidate next year, and he hoped it would be the one.

* 2584, 12 Madak officially becomes a candidate and with his learnings as a candidate and being so involved with the Weyr work Madak has never been happier in his life.

* 2586, 14 Madak has stood for each hatching over the past 3 years and has not impressed. However, on the sands of Imyth's hatching, he spies a girl standing across the sands from him. He falls in love immediately, she looks so awestruck at the sigh of such amazing dragons he wonders where she spent her youth. She must be younger than him, only by a couple of turns, with wide blue eyes and hair the colour of the sandy Igen beaches. However, after taking a few steps towards her, entranced by her, her eyes meet his, and she gets distracted from one of the dragonets in front of her, forgetting to move out of the way as it wobbles into her, scraping one of its sharp talons down her front, one of its wings coming up to swipe her aside and out of its way. Madak only can watch in horror as the most beautiful person he's seen in his whole life bleeds out on the hatching grounds in front of him.

* 2587, 15 Moves to Southern Winds Weyr. Madak is happy to get away from the sad memories of his failed candidates years so far. Moving to Southern Winds would be a new start for him and his family and they could stick together always.

* 2587, 15 Impressed Brown Dallarth in Oriath’s clutch on the 24.9. The happiest day of his life, after three years of failed impressions, he believed that he might not ever impress. Standing on the hatching grounds he had a flashback to the girl with the Igen sands hair and sank to his knees in horror. When he lifted his head from his hands, his eyes connected with the multifaceted ones of Dallarth as the introduced himself to his new rider. Madak, now M'dak would never again doubt his duty to his Weyr and to Pern.

* 2589, 17 Brother C’dus impresses Green Tiliorth. The hatching was horrific but he couldn't help but feel a little bit proud of the younger brother he has grown up with his whole life.

Madak's eyes washed over the eggs rocking on the sands, trying to ignore the heat flushing to his ears and the shaking of his hands. I've been here so many times before, why am I still so nervous? But he knew why, it's because this was the only thing he'd ever really wanted. He wanted to be a dragonrider. Like his mother and his father, and many of his siblings before him. And he was worried that perhaps he wasn't good enough. He had spent 3 years on the hatching grounds of Fort Weyr and every time he had watched the eyes of the boys and girls light up around him as they cheerfully exclaimed to the crowd what their new lifemates name was. That was what he wanted.

He sighed as the first egg cracked open and a blue dragonet tripped over its wings straight into the arms of a boy, whose face then brightened with a smile. Casting his gaze across the rest of the candidates he was suddenly stopped by a jolt to his heart. The most beautiful woman, girl, he had ever seen stood on the opposite side of the hatching grounds. The thrumming of the dragons around him seemed to match the thrumming of his heart, which thumped to a beat he had never felt before.

Wide blue eyes sat looking terrified in a creamy white face and hair the colour of the sand of Igen flowed down her shoulders. She could only be a few years younger than himself. He took a couple of shaky steps towards her and suddenly her gaze shot up to meet his, as if she had suddenly felt that she was being so intently watched. His breath choked him and he stuttered to a halt. Her eyes softened for only a moment, but it was a moment too long. He had distracted her.

A green dragonet cracked out of its egg in front of her, but she didn't notice her, still staring intently at Madak. The Igen-Sand-Haired girl didn't notice until the green dragon wobbled into her a raked a taloned claw down her front, the white robe she wore staining red with the same blood that billowed from the flesh M'dak could see revealed through the long gash. Her mouth fell open in a silent scream, and the young dragon simply swatted her to the ground. In his horror, Madak couldn't move, his feet felt heavy, as if the hatching sands had turned into quick sand, trapping him in his spot, making sure he watched as the girls blood stains the sands below her.

Madak left the sands without a dragon that night, but with sight that would haunt his dreams for many years to come.

Brown Dallarth
Spoiler for Hidden:

Link to line art.
Coloured by: SirAlahn
Dragon Details

Name:
Dallarth
Color:
Brown
Date of Birth:
2587
Place of Birth:
Southern Winds Weyr
Clutch Mother:
Gold Oriath
Clutch Father:
Bronze Kinildosth
Measurements: Listed in the dragon information.
Mature Length: 35m
Mature Height: 7m
Mature Wingspan: 58.1m

General Appearance...

In Dallarth's youth he was small and fragile, the Weyr was worried that perhaps it was an issue with his egg that had left him undernourished. He was definitely not the size that a brown dragonet was supposed to be for most of the Weyrling years. However, 2 1/2 turns into his growth, Dallarth suddenly shot up and out, grew larger than all of the other browns of his clutch, a good descriptor would probably be chunky, he's barrel chested and has very thick limbs and neck. He would definitely not be a dragon considered to be lithe or beautiful like the Golds or Bronzes, but tough and admittedly quite scary to those who have not had the pleasure to speak to him.

Personality...

Mind Voice: Very low and reverberating, calming those whom he speaks to, however it is often heard speaking in a childish voice towards those little creatures, human and beast alike that Dallarth gets along with.

Likes:
LITTLE PEOPLE - children, but he likes to refer to them as simply little people, because they're not all that different from M'dak when he's all in a huff
LITTLE ANIMALS - they're just too cute, unfortunately he has to observe from afar, because he's had way too many furbeasts die of fright seeing him

Dislikes:
PEOPLE BEING AFRAID OF HIM - due to his size and stature many think that he is one of the scarier dragons.
RAIN - Dallarth very much loves swimming, but he hates rain when he's flying or when he wants to sun himself on the rocks and the weather just doesn't want to go his way.

Strengths:

* HUMOUR : Quick, witty, will make a joke at the expense of his rider, but will never go too far

* CARING : Much like his rider he wants the best for everyone, however, unlike his rider, he is able to soothe those around him with his words, knowing just the right thing to say at the right time

Weaknesses:

* COMPASSION FOR THE YOUNG: He will always try to convince M'dak to do something if he feels sorry for something or someone, won't make good decisions. e.g. if they had to punish a little kid, he would be like "oh but he's so cute"

* CHILDISH : Something that definitely gets on M'dak's nerves is Dallarth's ability to ignore tough situations. Dallarth is a very good helper, when he wants to help. But also is stubborn enough to just ignore situations that he doesn't believe are worth his time.

Brown Rudas - Firelizard
Spoiler for Hidden:

Coloured by: SirAlahn
Flit Details

Name:
Rudas
Pronounced:
Roo - das
Nickname:
Rudy
Color:
Brown
Date of Birth:
2587
Place of Birth:
Southern Winds Weyr

General Appearance...

Rudy is just average, not too big, not too small, just completely average sized. The only thing slightly different about him is that his light brown hide is marred by a single ring of dark red-brown around his neck.

Personality...

Mind Voice: Rudy is very quiet, he will only communicate to those other than M'dak if it is part of his orders. He's not a chatterbox, preferring to communicate emotions and pictures to M'dak instead.

Likes:
Errands - When M'dak starts to ask Rudy to go on an errand, or send a message, he gets super excited, his eyes whirling and head bobbing.
Water - Much like M'dak and Dallarth he loves to spend a little time frolicking in the water on his time off
M'dak - why not? He feeds him, oils him and loves him, what else could he want?

Dislikes:
Slovenly firelizards - Firelizards who don't do their job are useless in Rudy's mind
Chatterbox firelizards - If firelizards talk too much Rudy just gets annoyed by them and tries to convince M'dak to leave their company

Inanna of Green Cremath
Green Rider Inanna - DONE
Spoiler for Hidden:

Play By:
Emma Watson
Biography

First Name:
Inanna (ee - naan - naa)
Nicknames:
'Nana
Date of Birth:
07.07.2568 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Southern Weyr
Dragon Color:
Green
Impression Age:
2585/17
Wing Rank:
Wing Rider Beach
Weyrmate:
Not yet

Your Reflection...

Appearance:
- Practical style but still flattering
- Face usually stretched in a smile, her nose wrinkles
- However she can put on a stern expression when she's telling some silly dragonrider off

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: She just tried to ignore everything going on when she was younger and she spent most of her life at Fort Weyr, which was her home. However, she was on board with trying to find a new place to live, Fort Weyr was filled with horrific memories of what the Northern Continent used to be (for other people) and whilst many would find it hard at first, she believes that they did the right thing starting again.

Response to dragon color mutations: She is behind her new Weyrleader 100%, he is simply a dragonrider just like everyone else. She won't judge him on the colour of his dragon, but on how he carries out his duty as Weyrleader.

Who are you...

Likes:
- A large crowded room at mealtime - the only good time to spend with a lot of people, is when you can all sit down and share a common happy event - eating
- Eating - That's why she likes meal time so much, she doesn't overindulge, but she's a big supporter or savouring your food and admiring the work that went into it
- Flying - I mean, she's a dragonrider, how could she not? The wind in her hair makes her feel alive.
- Running - She likes to keep fit so every second night she'll go for a late night jog around the Weyr, if people are out and about she gets to socialise and that's fun too

Dislikes:
- Early mornings - she must always start her day with a cup of klah if you want her to have woken up on the right side of the cot
- Dirty Weyrs especially unmade beds - it is the easiest thing you can do in your day, and it makes it so much nicer when you can slip under furs at the end of the night instead of getting crumped in a messy cot.
- Sunburn - A good way to ruin a day is by getting burnt

Strengths:

* WITTY : Inanna is very quick witted, she loves to have people to bounce jokes off and another fast thinking people to keep up with her. She doesn't dislike people if they don't understand how quickly she thinks, but the people she would like to spend the most time around have to understand her and be able to bounce back as quickly as she does.

* EMPATHETIC : She's very good at understanding what other people are feeling. Or at least understanding why they think their reasonings for feeling that way are valid. And because of that she's a very good shoulder to cry on, she'll pat your back and make you see reason. She won't hide things from you, but she'll sugar coat it if she thinks that would be the best way to get through to you.

* CALMING : Ever the one to deal with the inevitable fights her brother would get into, she learnt from a young age how to soothe arguments, extract and distract. Don't make them feel like you're controlling them, let them think it's their idea. It comes in useful that she is a petite unassuming female, most males don't think that she would be manipulating them. However, nicely she does it.

* STALWART : If you make a friend of Inanna you'll have one for the rest of your life (unless you do something unforgivable). She can forgive easily and sees the best in everyone.

* HUMOUROUS : Her humour goes along with her wit, she's sharp and sarcastic, and therefore can get along with the most gruff of dragonriders.

Weaknesses:

* REVEALING : Unfortunately, Inanna doesn't know when to not reveal information about herself. She'll keep secrets for you, but basically anything that she's trying to hide personally won't be hidden for too long. She likes to talk about things and doesn't like to bottle them up. But some people either don't enjoy the overflow of information, or could use it against her later on.

* SHARP TONGUE : Whilst Inanna is usually pretty good at keeping her sharp tongue in, she's not infallible. She has made a mistake before, berated someone when she didn't know the full story, or made a joke that triggered someone's history. She tries extremely hard to prevent it happening, but if you talk as much, or to as many people as she does, it'd be hard to keep track of everything all the time.

* NAIVE : Inanna thinks that everyone has good in them, and everyone can change. Unfortunately for some people that just isn't the case. She tries to "fix people" so if she is told that someone is "unfixable" she doesn't believe it.

* CRIES WHEN HURT : Inanna can get angry, or at least she can get riled up, but it's rare that she is truly affected by some playful, if annoying banter. However, if she gets hurt, truly hurt by someone, she will cry and cry and cry. Fortunately, it doesn't happen often, but as soon as she feels the sting to her heart, she'll race off to her weyr because NO ONE will see her cry.

* POSSESSIVE: If Inanna is going to settle down with someone, she is going to settle, an open ended relationship won't do it for her. Flights are a separate thing, she loves her children, but she had never made an agreement to settle with their fathers and she's okay with that. One day she hopes that she can have a permanent Weyrmate. But she needs someone who will be faithful, otherwise all hell will break loose.

Describe Yourself:

* FORGIVING: ----- If you apologise to Inanna, and it has even a little bit of sincerity, she'll forgive you and forget all about it.

* MOTHER HEN: ----- If Inanna hadn't become a dragonrider she might have become head woman. She knows how to organise, how to give advice and how to follow orders. But she won't hesitate to tell a bronzer that he's an idiot if he so definitely is, she is well respected because of this, most would not get offended if corrected by Inanna.

* PEACE MAKER: ----- Inanna knows how to settle a crowd, she's quick to know the mood of a crowd, or the mood of a situation and try to remedy it.

* HOPELESS ROMANTIC: ----- She could probably spend her whole being reasonably content with the odd flight every now and again. But she really is looking for a life partner to keep her on her toes.

* HONEST: ----- Inanna will tell you what she think of a situation every time, she will never lie, but she's become an expert at saying just the right amount for the right person.

The Magic Touch: She'll always cock her head slightly to the side if she's listening to someone speak to her - in a one to one conversation. Something she just developed to let people know that she's listening to them.

Family...

Mother: Satanna, born 2550. Impressed to Green Minarth, 2562
Father: I'nis, born 2445. Impressed to Brown Driath, 2560

Siblings:
S'tis, born 2565. Impressed to Blue Dorieth, 2578
Inistanna, born 2570. Journeyman at the Healer Hall.

Children:
Ingor (son) born 2584 - Father B'gor of Bronze [bronzd]Zerelyth[/bronzd]
Vianna (daughter), born 2590 - Father V'blank of Blue/Brown/Bronze

Tell us a story...

* 2568, 0 Born Fort Weyr

* 2570, 2 Sister Inistanna is born, if her parents have any more children they won't be able to find any more unique combinations of their two names. But they figured out at least two, in the years to come, Inanna will become to love how all of their names mesh together, and decides that her children will be named from her and their fathers name as well.

* 2578, 10 Brother S'tis impressed to Blue Dorieth. S'tis had always been a loud-mouthed child, and Inanna was always smoothing situations over to stop getting him in trouble. When she watches him impress, she grins a little, even at 10, she knows that she would be continuously smoothing things over for him.

* 2581, 13 Searched by a blue. Stands for many years but isn't too worried about it, she loves the Weyr and would love to be a dragonrider, but if it is not meant to be then she will be happy to work for the Weyr as the Weyrfolk do.

* 2584, 16 First child born to bronze rider B'gor, as a result of a Gold mating flight. She was going about her candidate duties when B'gor of the flight came across her, they had met before and she was quite happy to be there for him to take out his flight lust. Ingor, their son, is raised in the Creche but Inanna retains a good relationship with both B'gor and Ingor.

* 2585, 17 Impresses Green Cremath and she is quite happy with it, she had been working in the kitchens under the headwoman until then in her spare time. After so many years as a candidate, she had figured out how to organise her chores so that she could get them all done and then go help in the kitchens for the evening meal. Whilst she is incredibly happy with Cremath and her new dragonrider status, she still hopes that she can find time to help out in the kitchens every once and a while.

* 2587, 19 Cremath rises for the first time in the 4th month of the turn (24 months after hatching) and is caught by Bronze Zerelyth, Inanna becomes pregnant to his rider B'gor again. It seems like her luck with dragonriders and flight lust is a particularly fertile one.

* 2587, 19 The whole Weyr moves to Southern Winds Weyr and the journey between unfortunately makes her lose the pregnancy. Before the flight out of the Weyr, her and B'gor, the father of her unborn child agreed that the best option was to attempt the flight between and hope for the best. B'gor tells her he is not angry with her for the situation but they do not remain as close as they had been previously.

* 2588, 20 Cremath flies again and is not caught by Zerelyth, and surprisingly, Inanna does not conceive after the mating flight. After becoming pregnant in all mating flights she had participated in, Inanna, who has always loved her family, worries that the flight between has left her, not only without a second child, but barren for life.

* 2589, 21 After Cremath's next flight, Inanna waits worriedly for the widwife to tell her whether she is pregnant or not. She is quite happy when she is informed that she is.

* 2590, 22 Her daughter Vianna is born at the start of the turn, raised in the Creche. Inanna worries about how both her children would feel if eventually she finds a more permanent Weyrmate, and perhaps raises the children herself, at least, less in the Creche than her elder children. She considers the possibility, but eventually has to move it to the back of her mind, as there are no suitors for the permanent Weyrmate title showing up in her life anytime soon.

"Come on everyone, chop chop the riders will be here for dinner soon enough, and you all know how hungry they are after they spend any amount of time doing work." The jab towards dragonriders echoed around the kitchen and quiet chuckles followed. Most of the women being incredibly fond of their own dragonrider mates that were currently being spoken of understood the jab to be a negative one, however let it slide. Everyone knew the headwoman wasn't particularly fond of the dragonriders.

It was this laughter that greeted Inanna as she slipped into the kitchen. She had just returned from her candidate chores and hoping no one would notice that she was too late, she slipped over to the bench where some women were kneading dough for the nights bread and grabbed a ball herself to begin.

"Now where do you think you've been missy? Dinner prep started half a mark ago." Inanna grimaced with her back turned towards the headwoman, but when she turned she had wide eyes and a false worried expression on her face.

"Greatest apologies Headwoman Xuline, I was only doing chores ma'am."
Xuline tutted. "Just because you think you're gonna be a dragonrider doesn't mean anything to us here. Do you understand that?"
Inanna nodded her head quickly. "Yes, Headwoman Sir." Xuline looked taken aback by the 'Sir' but didn't say anything, snorting in disgust at Inanna and waving her off, as if forgetting about her. With the headwoman's back turned to her now, she stuck her tongue out impulsively at the woman.

The kitchens hands on the bench to either side of Inanna chuckled quietly. "Don't take anything from it girl. You do your candidate duties and your duties here just fine." One said softly.
Inanna grimaced, "I know, I just can't wait until the Hold's built so someone who actually likes dragonriders can take over here."
Some of the other Weyrfolk women nodded. Inanna liked working in the bakery section of the kitchen, they were mostly filled with the Weyrfolk, and not any of the drudges who would tattle on her to Xuline.
One of the older women whose hair was greying at the roots spoke up then, "You know child, you could do it one day. You have the ethic, the kindness and a sharp tongue to match."
Inanna snorted in response, "Yeah right, as if Xuline would recommend me."
The greying woman shrugged, "Xuline wouldn't recommend any Weyrfolk, but would take all the drudges with her, someone has to do it."
Thinking about it, she wondered whether her kitchen friends were right. Me? Headwoman? I suppose it wouldn't be too bad of a life. But a dragonrider... Inanna shrugged, casting her attention back to the dough she was kneading. If she times out of candidacy she could think it over again, but until then, she wanted to be a dragonrider.

Dragon Details

Name:
Cremath
Color:
Green.
Date of Birth:
2585
Place of Birth:
Fort Weyr
Clutch Mother:
Bereth
Clutch Father:
Jenrath
Measurements:
Mature Length: 25m
Mature Height: 5m
Mature Wingspan: 41.5

General Appearance...

Cremath is a grey green colour, but she thinks she is too large and bulky to pull off the colour. Her hide is also a bit splotchy, in the right like you can see patches of slightly more grey colour. Also she's big, as big as she can be. All in all, she's quite self conscious that she's not a beautiful lithe green like the others, which is probably why she doesn't rise more than once a turn.

Personality...

Mind Voice: She has a very soft and husky voice, its quite calming and would be very good for putting you off to sleep if you're an insomniac. But it makes her hard to be heard, because she is never very authoritative and doesn't raise her voice.

Likes:
- Sand baths
- Sun baking
- Warm water swims

Dislikes:
- Cold weather
- Self-centred people
- Self-centred dragons
- Self-centred flits

Strengths:

* LOYAL : She 100% loyal to her rider and her Weyr, even if she is not the most vocal at providing her support to anyone other than her rider. She is mostly the silently agreeing type.

* ENDURANCE : Her size has made her one of the best greens for endurance flights, whilst she isn't as agile as the 20m greens, she can last a lot longer in threadfall and in a long distance flight, going somewhere they can't go between to.

Weaknesses:

* SELF-DEPRECATING : Perhaps it is her strange colouration, but she has grown up not really thinking that she is worthwhile to catch. Her opinion only changes when she's in a flight. However, she will spend the days leading up to a flight nervous that no one will try to catch her.

* SHY : Cremath isn't a very talkative dragon to other dragons or to other riders. She does not talk to riders unless she has been specifically asked to by Inanna.

Black Rider P'run
Black Weyrling P'run
Character Link: Here
Impression Age: 2590/24
Clutch: Kalestath
Color Preference: Black -  I would like to adopt the beautiful swamp dragon, Salnoth, from the creature bank
Impression Thread: Yes
Spoiler for P'run:

Play By:
Ricky Whittle
Biography

First Name:
Perun
Honorific:
P'run
Nicknames:
No. Nothing.
Date of Birth:
32.06.2566 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Hold
Dragon Color:
Black
Impression Age:
2590/24.
Wing Rank:
Weyrling
Weyrmate:
None.

Your Reflection...

Appearance:  P'run likes to wear his clothes comfortably, neatly and without any extravagance. He absolutely hates the way that harpers wear their stupid blue all the same, and wouldn't dare being seen wearing anything other than simple tans, browns or blacks. He likes to wear comfortable loose shorts around the Weyr, and can be seen frequently without a shirt in the summer time.
He wears no ornamental jewellery at the moment, however, if some simple leather band or necklace had particular special meaning to him, he would probably wear it, as long as it didn’t attract too much attention. He keeps some facial hair, liking to leave a little bit of beard rash on his sexual conquests, but keeps it short and out of the way.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: All that P'run has ever known was the constant thread, so he simply went about his every life just trying to survive and figure out who he was. When he was younger, he felt a little betrayed by the riders, after all, their actions caused the catastrophe, but as he grew, he began to appreciate them and their actions to save Pern.

Response to dragon color mutations: P'run thinks the mutations are a nice mix up, the world faced an incredible upheaval, so he's unsurprised that genetics responded to that. He thinks the blacks and reds are there for a purpose and he wants to find out what that is first hand.

Who are you...

Likes:
- Cleanliness - he likes to have an organised room, that's why he hates sleeping with messy women or men. Given this, he also avoids spending any more time than necessary in someone else's sleeping quarters.
- Winter - The cold is his favourite type of weather, whilst most people avoid doing too much outside at this time, P'run will purposely go outside to complete his morning workout.
- Sex - hard sex where the woman, or man, will let him be in charge, love never comes into it when he is having sex.

Dislikes:
- Shirkers - everyone must pull their weight at the Weyr, he doesn't care who you are, if you shirk, he will look down on you
- Complainers - just shut up and do your duty, everyone else has to, and most drudges would have it worse off than anyone, and no one ever sees them complaining.
- Overly happy people - P'run just wants them to shut the hell up and stop bothering him.

Strengths:

* DEDICATED : P'run is dedicated to whatever task he sets his mind to. If the task is to make sure a hand will heal properly, or whether it’s to complete all of his chores by lunchtime, P'run will do anything in his power to do it.

* ALERT : He is a very light sleeper and is constantly alert of his surroundings. It comes from turns of listening for his foster brothers of holders sneaking up on him in the dead of night.

* PRACTICAL : Always trying to find the most efficient way of completing a task, P'run won’t jump to any conclusions about how to best carry out his mission.

* NEAT : His room is always neat and tidy, cot made, clothes in his trunk, nothing out of order. If he can't be in charge of everything in the world, at least he can be in charge of what his room looks like. Sharing the candidate barracks with others was a struggle, because he had to avoid throwing people's belongings out the window when they left them hanging around.

* ATHLETIC : P'run likes to spend a lot of time working out. The habit started when he first became a candidate, and has he has been one for almost ten turns now, he has become quite fit.

Weaknesses:

* INFLEXIBLE : If P'run makes up his mind about something, he will not stand down, making him a very formidable opponent.

* NONCOMMITAL : After all his turns, he still has not tied himself down to any particular lady, and doesn’t plan to, none have proven themselves to be able to handle him yet and he doesn't feel like he needs someone else in his life. He has been the only person he can trust for his whole life, why should that change?

* EASILY-ANGERED : P'run finds many things quite annoying, and the tipping point from annoyance to anger is quite small. And he doesn't really try to contain his temper, he will contain himself from physically attacking someone, ensuring that he doesn't get kicked out of candidacy, but verbal abuse is very much applicable.

* BLUNT : He will say exactly what he is thinking when he is thinking it, no matter what the result. P'run doesn't really care about other people's feelings, and so, he would never have advanced any further than apprentice in the healer craft due to his lack of bedside manner.

* CYNICAL : True love or permanent happiness is not something that P'run believes in. Short lived ecstasy is the only thing that P'run has been exposed to, so that is the only thing he understands. Whilst he can understand that there are those that need to believe in order to feel like they have a purpose, he himself, doesn't need reassurance.

Describe Yourself:

* SARCASTIC: ----- Many people do not like a sarcastic sense of humour, most especially, his older foster brother did not like it, so over the turns, P'run has developed a sarcastic attitude specifically to annoy others.

* ORGANISED: ----- One only has to look at his notes from the healer hall, all bound and sorted chronologically to understand the extent of his organisational techniques.

* LEADER: ----- As one of the eldest candidates, P'run has become a natural leader. More the ‘do as I do, not as I say type’. Because he would not encourage any youngsters to take on his rude and outspoken tone, however does encourage them to follow his more organised and dedicated traits.

* PROUD: ----- P'run is proud of how he has turned out. He is slightly bitter about the lack of role models or happy relationships he had as a youngster and is quite proud of how, even if he an asshole, he didn’t become an utterly terrible person, just one who doesn't care about what anyone else thinks.

* PASSIONATE: ----- This goes side by side with the fact that P'run is easily angered. He feels passionate that everyone should pull their own weight, and therefore will let anyone know that he feels that.

The Magic Touch: P'run will start every day with a workout routine and a cup of hot klah. Without this routine, P'run will feel very disconcerted and out of place for the rest of the day.

Family...

Mother: Senior Journeyman Healer – Perianas – b. 2550
Father: Master Harper – Rundar - b. 2547

Siblings:
Foster
2555: Dendran
2559: Hanelon
2562: Tiriya
2562: Blateren
2564: Canera d. 2571
2567: Yun
2568: Ludara
2570: Halnae

After his initial fostering days, he didn't keep track of his siblings, therefore he is unaware of their professions. Additionally, he parents never made any contact with him after they gave him to be fostered, and he hasn't heard any word of their life since.

Children: Numerous around the Weyr somewhere, he didn’t keep track of them or the mothers. Possible children or jilted lovers are more than welcome to walk into his life.

Tell us a story...

* 2566-71, 0-5 Born at the Healer Hall to healer mother Perianas and harper father Rundar. However, neither of his parents are particularly interested in leaving their craft to raise him. He is fostered with a large and loud family, crammed to the brim with children from all walks of life. It's not easy for him, he is bullied, because he came from a privileged background and was still abandoned by his parents, most of the children are either orphans or from drudge-like households.  He is young, and doesn't really understand why they bully him, and this is the start of his defensive personality.

* 2571-73, 5-7 A sickness sweeps through their overcrowded foster home, and one of his younger foster siblings succumb to the disease. Canera had always been undernourished, too quiet to be able to stand up and get her fair share of food, and so when the sickness reached her, her immune system was not strong enough to fight it. Canera's passing is Perun's first encounter with death, and whilst he wasn't particularly close with his foster sister, he realises truly how tough Pern is, and he spends the next few years building up his anger, so that what happened to Canera wouldn't happen to him.

* 2573-78, 7-12 At 7, Perun gets into a fight with one of his older foster brothers, after finally snapping, he physically attacks Hanelon, and seriously injures him. His foster parents are becoming overrun with children needing homes, and they decide that they cannot continue to give a roof to Perun if he is becoming violent. They can't risk their other children around him. He turns to drudge work, scrounging for food, and spending the next few turns on his hands and knees, cleaning hearths and floors. Surprisingly, Perun enjoys the structure. He doesn't enjoy the chores, nor does he enjoy sleeping on the floor every night, but at least he knows what he should be doing. Perun hated the chaos of the foster home, and whilst he gets little deep companionship from the other drudges, he simply adjusts, retreating into himself and deciding that he can function without it.

* 2578-81, 12-15 Someone trips in the kitchens one day, and falls on one of the large herdbeast carving knives. The only person nearby with any semblance of healing skills is a wizened old woman, whose hands are too crippled with age to be able to set the stitches and clean the wound. She looked to Perun near by, and chose him because he looked like he had steady hands and was young enough to follow instructions. She talked him through the process and they saved the drudges life. It was then that she complimented his grace under pressure and the next day she had gone and referred him to the healer hall. Apparently she was the mother of the Masterhealer and her recommendation carried a lot of weight. He spends the next few turns apprenticed in the healers hall learning all he can, because he is incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to study a craft. The students there fall into two groups, those who ignore him because they are solely focused on their studies, and those who treat him as if he is filth because he had previously been a drudge. In order to block out the jeers, Perun threw himself into his work, although no matter how successful he was in his studies, he was still bullied. He became bitter and cynical about life, but also learnt to be practical and follow rules.

* 2581-85, 15-19 Perun is searched for Fort Weyr. He stands and watches many become dragonriders and once again starts to question his worthiness in life. He started as a child with no parents, but found structure as a drudge, then he found practical skills as a healer, but was prejudiced against for his previous duties to the hold, then he finds perhaps a new calling as a candidate but stood for hatching after hatching without impressing. He becomes secluded each turn, as more candidates come and go, deciding not to get close to anyone, so that he won’t have to worry about becoming jealous or feeling anything at all.

* 2585-87, 19-21 Perun continues to explore the Weyr life, and fathers a couple of children in this time, however, he never bothered to find out their names of keep track of them. He discovers the occasional want to sleep with men, however, doesn't stay attached to anyone. Perun feels nothing about fathering children, it is not something he ever particularly cared about, because he never felt like he would be a good father. Appreciating the Weyr life, Perun does not feel bad about letting his children be raised in the creche.

* 2587-Current, 21-Current Everyone moves to Southern Winds Weyr and the first black dragon hatches. Perun begins to wonder whether or not Pern had been making him wait to impress because it was waiting for black dragons. But he stands for another two turns and wonders simply whether he is not meant to be a dragon rider. He continues his work as a healer when he can, however, he is dedicated to sticking this candidacy out for as long as he is allowed to.

Spoiler for Roleplay Sample cause it's long as hell:
Perun stared dispassionately at the gaping wounds in the drudges side as it split the blood onto the floor. How useless. He thought to himself. The man had gone and slipped, and was carrying the knife the wrong way. Standing behind him, Perun, well trained by years of working with others who couldn’t care less what he had to say, didn’t bother telling him that carrying the knife, blade in, was an accident waiting to happen.

And happen it did.

Slipping on something insignifcant on the floor, the man had fell, shoving the large herdbeast carving knife, straight up into his leg. Unfortunately, the drudge hit the floor in a way that knocked it against the cobbled floor and shoved the knife, cutting further through the muscle and fat there, but ultimately removing itself from the leg. Leaving a spurting blood trail in its wake, and a man getting paler by the second.

As drudges ran about like headless fowls, Perun scowled around the room, the sooner they could get anyone with some god damn healing experience in here, the less time they would waste, and the less trouble they would get in for the delay of the dinner serving.

A wizened old woman was being lead into the room, a younger, more harried drudge flittering from side to side behind her, rubbing hands nervously on her legs, her biceps and her stomach. Perun grimaced, what an annoying habit. The darker drudge tried to melt into the shadows as the two women approached, not wanting to be drawn into the situation by them. But despite the older woman’s decrepit figure, her eyes were keen and bright, and as they swept the room looking for… something… they alighted on him.

“You there.” She pointed a shaking finger at him. The shaking reminiscent of the condition most drudges who lived passed the age of usefulness encountered. “Come here.” Perun scowled at her, shaking his head. “Do you want this man to live?” The dark drudged shrugged, not speaking. Perun could honestly not care less if this man lived. He didn’t know who he was or what is life was actually like, Perun’s were simply stuck inside the four walls of the hold. The old woman titled her head to the side consideringly, “Do you want this man to die?” Now this was a slightly different question and the scowl slipped from his face. He wouldn’t want anyone to die, he wouldn’t want to cause anyone to die he realised.

Perun crept closer to the situation, kneeling beside the older woman. The flittering-annoying-habit drudge was still nearby, and the old woman soon waved her off. “Begone. I have no need of your help. This child will assist.” She slowly cast a hand in his direction, and waited for the incessant rubbing sounds of the other drudges habit to fade away.

“Do you know anything of healing?” The woman asked quickly, bring to the fore a satchel which Perun had not previously taken note of. He shook his head. “Speak child. We must look at our work here. I can’t have you not speaking.” Her keen eyes alighted upon him. “You do speak do you?”

Perun cleared his throat. “Yes.” It was young, as of yet unbroken by the years of adolescence.

“Good, good. Now quickly. Place your hands on top of his wound.” He hesitated before moving his hands forward. “Child, if you must hesitate you are of no use. Follow my clear instructions, or he will die, understand?”

He nodded again, and at her sharp looked, uttered a small, “Yes,” in response. Perun placed his hands upon the wound, his fingers trying to find the places where the blood was pushing hardest, and trying to reduce the flow.

“What’re you…?” The woman glanced at the wound. “Are very good.” She groaned as she lowered herself to a more comfortable position on the floor and Perun could swear he heard bones creak and grind. “Now, you must find the artery, understand?”

He shook his head. “No.”

“It is the place you’re covering now, the place where the blood is pushing hardest against your fingers.” She hesitated. “Do you understand?”

“Yes, yes.” He truly did. Without knowing it is where he had gravitated to immediately, with only the simple knowledge of the fact that blood should stay inside the body.

“Find it and....” Perun’s small fingers made their way to the artery and pinched it, holding the pumping flesh closed. “Yes, very good.” Apparently he had pre-empted her instructions. She handed him a small metal thing, the woman’s hands shaking, and almost dropping it before it fell into his outstretched hand. “Take it, and clasp it on, the… yes very good.” Perun had already begun to move the clasp towards the piece of flesh he was pinching closed. “Now, a little higher up, yes, there.” She said as the dark drudge clamped the metal down upon the artery, effectively stopping the flow of blood.

“Now you must work quickly child.” Take this, she shook a needle and thread into his hands, which were now bloodied by the work and currently staining the pure white thread a dark red. “You see the two severed sides?”

“Yes.” Perun turned his gaze back towards the wound and examined what he had to work with.

“You must sew it back together.” The flesh was miniscule it was as if she was asking him to sew two hairs off a husk of corn back together. He didn’t even know if it was possible.

“The cut is straight, it should be simple. Now go. Straight and neat they must be, otherwise the wound will not heal, and he may loose feeling in the leg.” Perun didn’t really know why he should care if the man lost feeling in his leg, perhaps it would be better if he had something negative to show for his stupidity.

He felt a slap on the back of his head. “We must do all we can for this man. Do you understand?”

Perun did not answer.

“Right.” She eyed him warily. “Sew.” And he set to work, each stich he set he rechecked ensuring its straightness and firmness, according to this old woman, it would not do to have him lose feeling, and hadn’t she been right so far about most things?

It was a few focussed minutes later when he looked up from the wound. The old woman was eyeing him, with an expression that 12 turn old drudge Perun did not comprehend, and it disconcerted him. “Done.” He said.

“Not yet.” Her hands shook once more, and her face looked tired and worn, when she handed him a thicker thread. “Re-thread the needle, and sew the leg back together, then we have done all we can.”

So, he did as she said and when he looked down upon the leg, he realised that there was something stirring within him. Pride? Happiness? Perun looked down upon the man’s face, apparently the disgust he had felt previously to him was gone.

“Thank you.” The drudge croaked and Perun leant back from him, quite unsure as to how he felt about saving the man’s life. It seemed as if, working to save the man’s life for the greater part of a candlemark had given Perun a much better appreciation of it.

Perun looked questioningly towards the old woman, but realised, he had formed no questions to ask. She looked bone weary, as if the feat of instructing someone who knew nothing about the healings arts, to heal, had sapped all of her strength from her.

“You have grace under pressure, child.” Once more, the indiscernible look was turned upon him. “Tomorrow, go to the healer hall. Speak to the master. You shall not return to this place.”

“What do you-?“ But a shakily raised hand cut him off, the annoyingly-habited-drudge was back and the old woman turned to her, allowing herself to be helped her to feet.

“You shall understand in time child, you shall be a healer.”

Spoiler for Paylae Holder/future Wherhandler- DONE:

Play By:
SHANINA SHAIK
Biography

First Name:
Paylae
Nicknames:
N/A
Date of Birth:
2573
Place of Birth:
Fort Hold
Weyrmate/Husband/Wife:
N/A

Your Reflection...

Appearance: As per the above photo, Paylae usually wears her hair pulled back from her face in a messy bun, but if her hair were to be let down, it would flow in waves to frame her feminine face, something which she tried to avoid around most men. Her clothes are practical, if they show off too much, she might draw unwanted desire from men, if they show off too little, she doesn't feel happy with herself. After all, she works hard to maintain her lithe figure. Additionally, working in the kitchens means that clothes get stained frequently, so any good clothes would be wasted on Paylae. Perhaps she would seek to show off her figure some more after she becomes more experienced in the ways of men and women.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: Her marriage occupied most of her life, as a child, she only knew the Hold, her family, and her fathers Wher, and after she married she only knew the tight walls of her cot with her husband or the kitchen at the Hold. Paylae simply wasn't exposed to it that often. It is only now living at the Weyr that she is beginning to understand the subtle politics.

Response to dragon color mutations: As said previously, Paylae is only now beginning to understand the politics of the Weyr, she is mostly annoyed by the strict rules of the Weyr, but unsure as to why these dragon mutations should cause such a rift, after all, they're still dragons.

Who are you...

Likes:
Alcohol - being with Neriherem means that she has to be able to appreciate the taste
Whers - her favourite companion, firelizards are too flighty, and she'd never a chance of a dragon, so whers are absolutely perfect
A little bit of dirt and mud - when the first rains come and the Weyr turns muddy on the edges, she loves to have a mud bath, her fathers Wher was the same, so that's where she picked it up

Dislikes:
Being drunk - she likes to drink, but doesn't like completely losing her inhibitions
Being alone in a large area - the doesn't mind being alone with her thoughts, but if she is all by herself in the giant dining hall or something, she feels uncomfortable
Naive/frivolous women - she thinks they're weak
Sex - her husband had been her only sexual encounter, and he definitely did not inform of the benefits a woman should receive in bed

Strengths:

* DETERMINED : Once Paylae has decided something, she will most definitely see it through, doing whatever she has to in order to succeed in her undertaking.

* CREATIVE : She is good with her hands, after years of shaping pies and cakes into unique and exciting tableaus, which is something that she has kept up in the Weyr as well, once the holder kitchen staff combined with them and she found her place within them.

* LOYAL : Paylae needs people to rely on, but she will only feel worth if said people rely on her as well. If both can find a mutual reliance upon one another, she will stay loyal forever and never betray your secrets.

* DECISIVE : The kitchen worker is very quick to make decisions, having to think fast in order to say the right thing in order to avoid getting into trouble with her husband, who had always been very quick to anger.

* THOROUGH : Through her work in the kitchens, she realised that thorough checking and rechecking was what ensured perfection in everything that one does.

Weaknesses:

* STUBBORN : Once Paylae makes a decision about something, its very hard to deter her. Whether it be an opinion about someone or a course of action. Deterrence requires incredibly convincing evidence.

* RECKLESS : After being stuck under the thumb of a negligent husband, in her newfound freedom at the Weyr, Paylae has developed a sort of reckless attitude towards her own life. Whilst enjoying her job in the kitchens, she is jeopardising it by supplying Neri with his ingredients. This recklessness also shows itself in trips into the jungle or sea without thought of her safety.

* BRASH : Now that Paylae has a voice, she will speak her mind about everything and anything, and whilst that sometimes allows grudging respect, it mostly just grates on the nerves of those of the traditionalist persuasion.

* DOMINEERING : She will also try to force her opinion upon other people, usually resulting in screaming matches that forces the other person to give up arguing with such a pig-headed person.

* IMPATIENT : In anything other than her work, she is impatient. If she wants to get somewhere, she wants to get there fast, not wanting to waste the time that it takes to walk there, or if she wants to do something after a conversation, she’ll rudely cut off the speaker in order to quickly do what she wants to do.

Describe Yourself:

* SNEAKY: ----- As Neriherem’s contact in the kitchens for his brewery goods, she has developed very good sleight-of-hand techniques to sneak away ingredients that will go unnoticed.

* SARCASTIC: ----- Her sense of humour has flourished without a man keeping her under his thumb and it is sharp and sarcastic, mostly welcomed by those who have a sense of humour themselves.

* ARTICULATE: ----- Her parents taught her well, she can scribe and she is an articulate speaker, quick and efficient, using the best possible words to describe the situation, recipe or instructions.

* JUDGEMENTAL: ----- First impressions are very important to Paylae, she will have decided in less than a candle mark whether or not you are worth her time, and then see will tell you what she thinks and go on her way.

The Magic Touch: The only thing that Paylae has ever truly wanted is to have the companionship of a Wher. She saw the incredible bond that her father and Misk had, and since then, dreams every night about the day she can get her own Wher, an opportunity few and far between for a kitchen worker.

Tell us a story...

* 2573-79, 0-6 Paylae is born at Fort Hold to her holder parents. Every night, her father, a guardsman of Fort, would go to his duty watch with his blue watch wher Misk, and Paylae would stand in the dooway, having emphatically to them as they left. Her family is large, having two older brothers, one older sister and in the next years her mother gives birth to more children after Paylae, giving Paylae another three sisters (born 2575, 2576, 2578). Her eldest brother heads off to the harper hall, the turn Paylae turns 6, and she takes the walk down to the harper hall every sevenday to bring him a little bit of mischief, he had always been way too serious.

* 2579-82, 6-9 Her second eldest brother and Paylae spend a lot of time together, both arguing and having fun. A particular day, in her seventh turn, the two had gotten into an argument about who was the one that actually caused their mother to get annoyed this morning, and a shoving match begins at the top of a flight of stairs. Unfortunately, 7 turn old Paylae is not match for her significantly older brother, no matter how strong she thinks she is. The young holder tumbles down the stairs and breaks her leg terribly. She is carted off to the healer hall and her brother is punished for his actions (not drastically, but he was given enough chores to make him remember what he did wrong). Paylae spends 8 sevendays being transferred in and out of the healer hall, her bone having shattered on impact and the healer having to reset the break many times to fix it properly. She is finally released, but the break never properly healed, and Paylae spends the rest of her life with a slight limp.

* 2582-85, 9-12 Her older sister is married off to a harper and starts working in the kitchens, and from the stories that Paylae hears about all the beautiful and delicious foods that she makes, Paylae decides that when she gets married, she wants to work in the kitchens as well. Her family is all quite close by and with so many younger siblings Paylae never feels alone. She spends the days curled up with her fathers Wher, Misk, enjoying the companionship of the creature that many think is ugly, but young Paylae thinks is the most beautiful soul on Pern, and her nights curled up with her younger siblings. Paylae is happy.

* 2585-2587, 12-14 At 12, her parents marry her to a fellow guardsman of her father named Triance and Paylae moves into his home. The opportunity to work in the kitchens of Fort Hold is presented to her, and the young girl snatches it up, beginning work within the sevenday. In the kitchens she meets the other kitchen hand, Mariinniia. Mariinniia’s husband Neriherem frequents the kitchens in order to give quick shows of love to his wife. Something which Paylae’s husband did not do. And frankly, when Paylae told him about it, looked down upon such a display of affection.
Whilst she still speaks with her siblings, her husband looks down upon her taking too many ventures to go visit them “You’re place is in this house.” He would say, so it is only with Mariinniia now that she can find a true friend. Mariinniia births two children in this time and seeing their adorable pudgy faces, Paylae decides that she wants her own. So they start activity trying and still Paylae does not conceive. Her husband turns cold and abusive, a very traditional husband, who decides that they will have children. However, as much as they try, and try is a sensitive term, because he was not a very good bedmate, Paylae could not supply him any children.  He turns even more abusive and sour, forcing her away from her family and friends, treating her as a broodmare, not allowing her to experience what true love making should be like. Paylae retreats into herself, drawing away from family and friends, taking each day as it comes, not truly understand what her future could hold.

* 2587-Current, 14-17 Fort Island is found, and Paylae and Triance are shuttled over to the Weyr along with all of the other refugees from Fort Hold. Once she arrives, she recognises a familiar face, Neriherem, the husband of her long time friend, Mariinniia. It is then that he tells her, with tears in his eyes, the Mariinniia died on the voyage to the Weyr. With this news, her husband decides that Paylae can no longer associated with Neriherem, as Triance believes that she shouldn’t be socialising with unattached males. Paylae has still not been able to get with child, and her husband turns to a crafter woman to beget him a child instead. The crafter becomes pregnant and Triance leaves Paylae, barren and alone. Finally being able to come into herself, she is accepted, along with many other kitchen folk, into the ranks of the Weyr kitchens, and they help to develop her personality that had been crushed by turns of living under Triance’s thumb. A season after Triance’s departure from her life, Paylae hears news of a hunter attack, and the few crafters and holders that were killed in it, Triance and his child’s mother were killed.

"Misk. Misk." The child's chubby hands reach out towards the Wher's face, attempting to grab its large snout. Paylae gives the Wher a roll of her eyes, as if he could understand the gesture, and sets the child on the ground. Allowing it to crawl towards the Wher.

The blue, docile and loving of children as he is, slumps down onto the floor to give the toddler a nudge of its head. Allowing it to grasp onto his more tightly.

"Up. Up." The child exclaims, wanting to go for a ride on the blue's back.

"Alright, alright, you little demanding monster." Paylae reaches down to the young child, imagining what it would be like to be holding her own little toddler in her arms, and allowing it to ride around on her own Wher. Misk snuffles, impatient to get the child on his back so they can have fun together.

Paylae glances towards the mother in the corner, a fellow kitchen hand like herself, waiting for the nod of approval, she receives it with a grin and a wave of a hand, and sets the child on the Wher's neck, keeping one hand securing the toddler, knowing that small hands don't grip very well.

Unable to help the happiness within her, as the child laughs and giggles, grasping onto the Wher's scaly neck ridges as he makes an effort to jump around a little bit to give the toddler a fun ride, a grin spreads wide upon Paylae's face. She remembers the years that she spent playing with the Wher, now much older now, and familiar with the ways of children.

What would it be like one day to see this situation with her own family?

Don't hate me as I continue to make characters and not post them!

Spoiler for Y'tol ~ DONE:

Play By:
DANIEL DAE KIM
Biography

First Name:
Yolatol
Honorific:
Y'tol
Nicknames:
N/A
Date of Birth:
17.06.2554 9th Pass or 9th Interval.
Place of Birth:
Telgar Weyr
Dragon Color:
Bronze
Impression Age:
2569/15.
Wing Rank:
Jungle WingRider
Weyrmate:
N/A

Your Reflection...

Appearance: Y’tol is highly threadscored, he flew thread for 16 turns, and whilst they had already retreated all together to Fort Weyr by the time he graduated Weyrlinghood, 16 turns was a long time to fly thread without being scored. His left shoulder is the worst section, from a patch of thread thrown about by a buffet of wind from behind him, but he has other, smaller threadscore patches dotted across his skin. The bronze rider usually has a smile on his face, and likes to wear loosing fitting, deep-v necked white shirts to show off his sparsely haired muscled chest.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: Y’tol lived through it by trying to connect with people more. He wanted to know everyone he could, so that if anyone died, he knew he would not have missed out on an opportunity to meet someone who sacrificed their life for Pern. Very dragonrider loyal, he is a bit of a traditionalist, and isn’t very supportive of holders, because he doesn’t understand their hierarchy and why they treat their drudges the way they do, in the Weyr, even the lowest kitchen staff is treated with respect.

Response to dragon color mutations: Y’tol is very hesitant over the new colours, he doesn’t understand why now, of all times, when they are trying to remake themselves, something like mutations would make an appearance. He tries not to think about the colour mutations themselves too much, and mostly complains about young people in power. Not that Y’tol would ever show too much animosity to anyone.

Who are you...

Likes:
Women – he likes the way they think, the way they look, the way they sound underneath him while having sex, yeah, they’re great. He’s spent a few nights in a male green riders Weyr, and didn’t hate it, but prefers women mostly.
Laughter – what’s better than a good hearty laugh to cleanse your day away? Having a good hearty laugh with a bunch of other people who have had a long day
Large crowds – he likes to feel like he is a part of something, a big reason why the big crazy Weyr family works for him. His favourite part of the day is supper times, where most people drink and eat and share stories of the day.
Flights – whether for greens or golds, Y’tol loves the exhilaration and the flight lust that comes along with it.

Dislikes:
Complainers – you don’t make anything better by just complaining about it, be proactive and actually try something, but don’t be a negative pansy – the only time you’re allowed to complain, is when/if you’re in the healer hall
Holders – or at least the ones so set in their holder ways that they try to look down on people, there are no drudges in a Weyr, everyone is looked after. The dragonriders looked after the holders during the pass, so why can’t they just be nice and look after the people that change their sheets?
People who don’t respect dragonriders – he purposely met as many people as he could, so that he would have memories of people that had died. Their memory should live on, even if only through him, so he is very familiar with the heartbreak associated with loss and death. Therefore anyone who does not respect that sacrifice is an idiot and selfish and doesn’t deserve how good they’ve got it, because you know what, they’re alive.

Strengths:

* EMPATHETIC: Y’tol likes to feel what other people are feeling, being able to put himself in other peoples shoes help not only the people who he’s trying to understand, but himself by making him feel needed.

* FORGIVENESS: Growing up in such hard times makes him want to forgive people for mistakes they make, he doesn’t want to feel negative about people, life is too short for grudges.

* HOPEFUL: Every day Y’tol is hopeful for the future, he definitely believes that dragonriders have lived through all the shit that has happened to them so far, and therefore they’ll make it through anything else that will happen to them.

* APPRECIATIVE: Seeing people die every day in constant threadfall made him very appreciate of every single person who takes on the dragonrider challenge. But those crafters and holders who have come out of the Pass in a positive mindset, he appreciates them being forward thinking.

* KIND: Life’s too short to not be kind to people, every wants a little bit of niceness in their life, and Y’tol is happy to supply it.

Weaknesses:

* NAIVE: After making his way out of the pass, he believes that whatever the mutations mean doesn’t matter, because they’ve figured their way through everything else. He also doesn’t really believe the rift formed by the mutations is really a negative thing.

* OVER-ENTHUSIASTIC: Anything presented to Y’tol will be undertaken in extreme enthusiasm, which, sometimes gets on the nerves of the more serious Weyrpeople.

* FLIRT: Y’tol likes to spread his love around, not currently finding anyone to keep him occupied for long enough to tie him down, so perhaps inadvertently he left a few broken hearts in his wake, although he would never do so on purpose.

* DEPENDENT:  Y’tol needs to feel like he isn’t alone, and he can get distracted and unpredictable if he feels like he doesn’t have people that he can depend on.

* VAIN: He likes to spend time on his appearance, whilst he won’t hesitate to get down and dirty, any permanent damage to his face would distress him greatly.

Describe Yourself:

* CURIOUS: ----- The thing that spurred his learning of rider’s stories was mostly prompted by his curiosity, the more people he talks to, the more he learns about Pern and how other people live.

* KNOWLEDGEABLE: ----- He likes to learn things, since being at Southern Winds, Y’tol has expanded his “story search” to crafters and holders, and some of the crafter stories that he had come across piqued his curiosity and caused him to seek out someone to learn specific crafter skills, e.g. sewing, baking and hand reel fishing.

* STORYTELLER: ----- After learning so many things from dragonriders for over 20 turns, Y’tol has taken to telling some of their stories at dinner and supper times, at some of the larger gatherings, with a few heroic embellishments of course.

* LOVING: ----- Y’tol has a lot of love to spread around, anyone who looks lost or alone will probably find themselves being looked out for by Y’tol.

* COMPANIONSHIP: ----- He needs people to feel accepted, he needs a close wing in order to focus on concentrate on his tasks, which is why Jungle works so well for him, despite not being as serious as many other Junglers, they need to be close in order to trust one another in the Jungle, this companionship is what Y’tol craves.

The Magic Touch: Y’tol likes to keep remember those whom he knew that passed away with their most memorable story, however with the lack of available people, it’s been hard for him to keep track of it in something like a journal, so he had to resort to carving an image representative of the story, and then carving the persons/dragons names into it. The trunk in his Weyr is full of carving and old papers.

Tell us a story...

* 2554-58, 0-6 Yolatol is born at High Reaches to the Bronze Rider Y’vis and Weyrfolk woman Meyannah, with only one older sibling, Meyliah, and the two children grow up in the Creche together, only three turns apart in age.  However, Yolatol does not remember anything of the High Reaches Creche, as, in 2558, the whole Weyr has to evacuate and desert Telgar. He arrives at High Reaches Weyr at the tender age of 4, therefore all of his childhood memories have the snowcapped mountain peaks of the High Reaches in the background.

* 2558-66, 6–12 Starts to help around the Weyr at this age. Does chores for riders, and tries to grow up a little bit earlier and prove himself useful. He is adorable and friendly, so most riders don’t mind him being underfoot and tolerate the excitable child trying to help them out doing little chores. It is during these times, the Yolatol manages to get some of the riders to tell him their stories, as too many riders pass with their incredible tales untold. Some day in 2566, a blue dragon stops him as he hurries past, delivering a tray of food to a bronze rider, the blue dragon’s rider come hurrying out of the hall, a grin on his face, and informs him that the blue decided that Yolatol should stand for the upcoming hatching. Yolatol is delighted, hoping to follow in his father’s footsteps.

* 2566-72, 12-17 He stands for many turns, and whilst sometimes feels disappointed, if in a hatching, a dragon walks straight past him not even acknowledging his existence, he simply buckles down, supressing his doubtful thoughts, and gets on with it. He learns from an older fellow candidate how to carve the strong wood of the broom tree, and he starts to record the stories he learns from older riders, through carving representations of the tale, and inscribing the rider and dragons name upon the artwork. In Rayneth’s clutch in 2569, at the tender age of 15, Yolatol impresses Bronze Beyorth and is gifted with the honorific, Y’tol. Whilst he did experiment a bit with his sexuality in his 3 turns of candidacy, he did not sire any children during that time, and his investigation is brought abruptly to a halt in his Weyrlinghood. Two turns later, fresh out of Weyrlinghood, the Weyr evacuates to Fort. It was a harsh blow for Y’tol, leaving the cold, stony peaks of the high reaches, the warmer Fort climate didn’t agree with him, and sometimes he dreamed of the cold and the snow.

* 2571-76, 17-22  These are Y’tol’s formative turns of his sexuality and coming into himself. He learns that flying greens and golds are just as fun as anything else, and whilst he prefers to bed women, the few male green riders he bed in his time were, for the majority, a good lay, if he was to be crass about it. Two children are born to him, one in 2572 and another in 2575, of two different mothers, both in the aftermath of a green flight, and Y’tol decides then to leave any of his children in the care of the Creche, just as he grew up.

* 2576-81, 22-27He starts to regale the Weyr Hall at dinnertime with passed dragonrider’s stories. Bringing his large trunk down from his room, and randomly choosing a carving at random, before launching into the usually exciting tale. Whilst he embellishes some stories, and most riders know that he does, many riders become more willing to share their stories with him, wanting to know that their name will still be spoken if they fall to thread. And so, riders come and go from his Weyr, he and Beyorth developed an open door policy, for both story-telling and sex alike, and when the Weyr takes a heavy loss, or simply when Y’tol feels as if the mood is low, he hauls his trunk down into the Weyr Hall, and riders and Weyrfolk alike eagerly gather around the storyteller. His next three children are born in 2578, 2579 and 2581, each raised in the Creche.

* 2581-87, 27-33 It is in a threadfall, late at night, high above the Harper Hall, that Y’tol and Beyorth obtain their worst threadscore yet. It was a difficult flight, the wind throwing the thread out of it’s usual, and slightly more predictable pattern, and many rider-dragon pairs went between that day, and never blinked back. Y’tol and Beyorth were almost one of them. Receiving a firestone sack from a Weyrling, the bronze pair had hovered to attack the sack more easily, keeping both eyes forward to watch for the next wayward patch they would go after, what they didn’t notice was the patch which had been blown up in a gust from somewhere underneath Beyorth’s tail, and after the gust, were on a one-track course, through their left shoulders. It hit Y’tol first of course, half of the patch hitting the Y’tol’s shoulder and he screamed as the thread ate through his tender flesh, the other half of the patch continuing on to Beyorth’s own shoulder. The pair blinked between, back to the Weyr, but they hadn’t been quick enough, the thread had eaten through both of their shoulders, and they were out of commission for a month. Waiting impatiently to be let back out there again. Not long after, they could joke about the event, saying that they had done it so that they could match, afterall, riders couldn’t be left to dwell upon their scars, they would all be left with many more before the Pass ended. Throughout this time, Y’tol learns that a few crafters, similarly evacuated to Fort, found thread scars sexy, some didn’t, but naturally, Y’tol never gave up a good opportunity to use his body to his advantage. So he fathers another child, this time by a crafter woman, in 2585.

* 2587-2590, 33-36 Everyone moves to Southern Winds, Y’tol himself being involved as a rider who scoured Pern to find a suitable place to move. He loved the warm cozy cove, and the leafy Jungle of Fort Island, and is therefore incredibly happy when the decision is officially made to move. After discovering the dangers of the Hunters and their presence in the Jungle, Y’tol immediately joins Jungle Wing, not hesitating to jump on a wing that very much appeals to his nature to protect the few people they had left.

Halt, child.

Yolatol scittered to a halt on the rough ground of the Weyr Bowl, his eyes widening in shock as he quickly reached to steady the jug of klah that he had started in a precarious wobble on the tray, in his haste to do as the blue dragon ordered him. The young Weyrbrat looked around above him to find the blue dragon that was the source of the words in his mind, the sensation unnerving the young boy, but he couldn’t spot the dragon.

“You there!” Spinning quickly, once again almost tipping over the pitcher of klah, Yolatold turned to the source of the noise. This time at least, he could spot the speaker. A rider was hurrying over to him, a large grin on the mans face. “Liramyth tells me that he senses you will make a good candidate, you’ve officially been searched kid,” the blue rider slapped him heartily on his shoulder, “Congrats.”

Yolatol’s mouth fell open, “Really?”

“Yeah really.” The blue riders face was covered with a grin, obviously he liked this part of the job.

“Can I say thank you to Liramyth?”

You’re welcome. Yolatol looked around frantically trying to source the sound, and a large blue head snaked down from the Weyr above them, to pin him with a large multi-faceted eye.

If you want to scratch my eyeridges I’ll accept that as a repayment, and that you’ll come introduce your dragon to me when you impress.

Yolatol obediently lifted a small hand, tiny in comparison to the dragon’s head. “But, you’ve just let me stand. You don’t know I’m going to impress. Do you?” The eyes whirled fast, and the Weyrbrat, now candidate, heard a low rumbling sound coming from the blue.

“Liramyth is proud of his candidate choices. He’ll never pick one that he doesn’t think will impress. You’ll see.”

Spoiler for Bronze Bayorth:

Link to line art.
Dragon Details

Name:
Bayorth
Color:
Bronze.
Date of Birth:
13.06.2569 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
High Reaches Weyr
Clutch Mother:
Rayneth
Clutch Father:
Vazeth
Measurements:
Mature Length: 37.1M
Mature Height: 7.42M
Mature Wingspan: 61.5M

General Appearance...

Bayorth’s growth as a dragonet was reasonably standard, he went through a growth spurt a little earlier than normal, but didn’t give him anything of an advantage over the other dragonets. On the larger side of the bronze sizes as an adult, his chest/abdomen section is a little larger than the correct proportions, more barrel chested than his length would suggest.

His colouring is a dark bronze in the shade, with glints of lighter, more yellowy bronze as the light hits his hide. A major threadscore lies on his left shoulder, mimicking where threadscore appears on his rider, the patch of thread having half hit Y’tol, while the other half grazed by him to Bayorth’s own shoulder.

Personality...

Mind Voice: Bayorth’s voice is low and rumbling, Y’tol has many a time compared his grumbles to that of thunder as it rumbled across the mountains of High Reaches.

Likes:
Female dragons – Greens, golds, reds, Bayorth likes any woman that will give him a good flight
Hunting – those Hunters need to be stopped – and Bayorth is big and bad enough to do it.
Discovering new places – Bayorth likes to be able to fly high over the Jungle, and spot new clearings, hills and possible hibernation locations for the Hunters, although he hasn’t been successful yet

Dislikes:
The black dragons – just more large males to steal his possible mates
Uppity talk – he is very happy being a bronze, and will only bow down to the queens, snarky language from other dragons bother him
Whers – he doesn’t hate them, he just prefers to keep them at arms length, there will be no cuddling or hanging out with Whers from this bronze.

Strengths:

* LONG DISTANCE FLYING : Due to his slightly early growth spurt, he had more time to get his wing strength up and it has developed into extremely efficient long distance flying.

* BRAVE : Whilst Bayorth didn’t inherit his riders more reckless nature, he none the less, will try to protect others with his own life if necessary. Which is definitely going to get him in trouble with the Hunters one day.

* LOYAL : Even if Y’tol is wrong, Bayorth will back him up all the way, and perhaps will even continue to try and prove his riders case so that Y’tol doesn’t seem like an idiot.

Weaknesses:

* STUBBORN : Bayorth will back up Y’tol no matter what, even if the man is being an idiot.

* PICKY EATER : To the annoyance of the Weyrlingmasters in their youth, Bayorth would spend ages running the beasts ragged before picking the one that he liked the look of best, and sometimes, earlier when Y’tol didn’t think to correct him, would occasionally kill them, decide they were not good enough, and then leave without eating it. He has gotten slightly better about it, instead sitting on his ledge to spy the perfect one.

* MANIPULATIVE : With some females, Beyorth is unknowingly manipulative. He had no particular love to be tied down to one female, none have been stubborn and strong enough yet to completely capture his attention. And therefore, will unknowingly, use those more naïve greens to his own betterment, as an easy catch when he wants them, or as a cuddle buddy if he feels left out while Y’tol is getting frisky.

Nevyin

Spoiler for Gifs and photos for Garrett Hedlund who I have been told by Kit to make him Nevyin:

Spoiler for Nevyin:

Play By:
GARRETT HEDLUND
Biography

First Name:
Nevyin
Nicknames:
Nev - Yinnie
Date of Birth:
21.10.2552 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Southern Boll Hold
Weyrmate/Husband/Wife:
Karenni

Your Reflection...

Appearance: Nevyin likes to dress comfortably, but nicely. He likes to keep his hair cropped short, but it grows ridiculously fast, so occasionally, if Karenni hasn't found the time to force him to sit still long enough so she can cut it, it grows long and wavy, curling around his ears, allowing him to slick it back.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: Nevyin was hit hard by the catastrophe, losing siblings and father in the constant threadfall and being torn up by it. The family man that he is, he hates that his wife and children were also negatively affected by the threadfall, but can’t bring himself to blame any sole person or group of people for their part in it.

Response to dragon color mutations: Quiet and avoiding of confrontation as he is, Nevyin tries to keep his nose out of the rider business. Not voicing an opinion on the matter but personally believing that a dragon is a dragon, no matter what colour.

Who are you...

Likes:
Children: Fully fitting in to the stay-at-home father role, his sweet and patient temperament , helps him to both enjoy the company of children whose souls are innocent and untarnished by the worlds grievances, and to understand their naivety in the grand scheme of Pern and it’s people.
Karenni: Whilst they met in a flurry of emotions, not too sure of each other at first, he quickly came to love her sharp tongue, fiery personality, and strong will.
Good company: Nevyin loves to spend time in the company of good people, his wife, his children, his friends and other good citizens of Pern.
Hands on work: Whilst never picking up a crafting profession, he is good with his hands, concentrated and precise, he can take on jobs himself or pitch in when crafters, holders, or dragonriders alike have need of him.

Dislikes:
Arrogance: Especially unfounded arrogance, everyone on Pern had their place and are needed, those who think that they are more important are simply delusional and rude.
Reliving the past: He lost much of his family in the catastrophe and does not seek to talk about it, or dwell in the events that have occurred.
Confrontation: A master at diffusing situations, Nevyin will do anything is his power to avoid a fight, not enjoying how good men and women can lose control of their emotions so easily.
Klah: Whilst he will gladly make others the drink, and has learnt over time to make what his wife would call, the best cup of klah, he personally would not choose to drink the stuff.

Strengths:

* INTELLIGENT : Nevyin is very quick at picking up new crafts and skills, however, if something does not come quickly to him, which is rare in himself, he had incredible study and work ethic, to learn the trade to the best of his ability.

* FRIENDLY : Cheery and easy to get along with, Nevyin very quickly makes friends wherever he goes.

* WARM : Nevyin is always ready to lend a helping hand, or to give a smile and kind to brighten someone’s day, most notably brightening the lives of his children whom he showers with affection and dotes upon.

* HUMOROUS : He has changed from the prankster that he was as a child to the more mellow jokester that he is today.

* VERSATILE : Nevyin is good at everything, although not amazing at anything, a jack-of-all-trades if you will.

Weaknesses:

* OVERPROTECTIVE : Towards his family, Nevyin is incredibly protective, his wife, at times, tells him that he is too overbearing.

* NAIVE : Nevyin doesn’t like to believe that anyone would have a reason for lying, so if you tell him something, unless he explicitly knows it to be an untruth, he will most likely believe you.

* IDEALIST : He believes that anything is possible, even the largest and most fanciful dreams can be achieved.

* NOSEY : Nevyin likes to know that people are doing okay, he likes to know what is happening in people’s lives and whether or not he can help them out if something is wrong, some people however, do not enjoy him sticking his nose in their business.

* SOFT-HEARTED : If his children want to get away with something that their mother would say no to, they simply have to go to Nevyin and he will probably give in. He finds it hard to say no to people he cares about.

Describe Yourself:

* SOFT-SPOKEN: ----- Rarely one to raise his voice in anger or in defence, all those around listen to what he says when he is forced to raise his voice to get people to listen.

* EASY-GOING: ----- Nevyin is very much a proponent of going with the flow and has no problem doing whatever someone else wants to do.

* CREATIVE: ----- A real thinker outside the box, being rather of the artistic mindset, although he has never been able to settle on just one art form.

* QUIET: ----- He believes that if anything is to be done, it can be done more efficiently and effectively if people are quiet, whilst he is not shy, he thinks overly loud noises are not helpful to a cause.

* NON-VIOLENT: ----- If coming across a fight or flight situation, Nevyin will most definitely run, not liking to solve conflict with fists but rather peacefully, and avoiding those who can only use their fists.

The Magic Touch: Nevyin’s nervous twitch comes in the form of running his hands through his hair.

Family...

Mother: Micmalhia; Harper, born 2533
Father: Pomylwar; Dolphineer, born 2532, died 2558

Siblings:
Kilvshley (brother): Brewer, born 2540, died 2558
Gykoryer (brother): Miner, born 2545, died 2558

Ayeshisa (sister): Healer, born 2550

Children:
Kerenya (daughter), born 2574
Narinae (daughter), born 2579
Nevekan (son), born 2577

Tell us a story...

* 2552, 0 Born in Southern Boll to an interesting combination of Harper and Dolphineer, he is well loved and is allowed to develop a kind but mischievous personality.

* 2558, 6 Southern Boll falls under the constant threadfall and in the effort to evacuate everyone safely, his father and brothers stay behind to try and help the old and sick. They perish saving others lives. With his mother and his remaining living sibling, his sister, he moves to Tillek hold to stay with his mother’s family. It is then that he vows to protect his family and those he loves, trying to become the man of the household.

* 2564, 12 His mother encourages Nevyin to find a craft to settle down in, but cannot find one that suits him, or one that is willing to apprentice him. The boy ends up simply helping out where is needed, his first official job being that of a kitchen hand, which he despises.

* 2569, 17 On a fateful day in his 17th turn, Nevyin meets the firecracker Karenni and his quiet personality clashes with hers immediately. Karenni, however, is a personality that Nevyin finds himself drawn to, and the two are thrown into more and more situations together simply by chance. Despite not getting along to begin with, they realise they share many of the same core values and Nevyin finds himself falling hard for her.

* 2571, 19 Nevyin and Karenni are closer than ever when Tillek Hold falls, but the evacuation to Fort Hold puts a stopper on his plans to ask her to marry him, as they both try to keep their families safe from harm. Whilst Nevyin is sad that another of his homes have fallen to thread, he is thankful that this time, he did not lose any family members, either from his or Karenni’s side.

* 2572, 20 Finally settling down at Fort Hold, Karenni finds the ring that Nevyin had been hiding for over a turn, demanding to know what it was and how long he had been expecting her to wait for him to propose. So he gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him, they move to their own home, not far from either of their extended families, thrilled to start building a life together, and a family.

* 2573, 21 Karenni conceives but miscarries the child early on in pregnancy, they had even had time to tell their families, wanting to wait until she was showing more to share the good news. The couple are devastated but together they decide that their families don’t need to know and feel their pain.

* 2574, 22 Falling pregnant again, Karenni and Nevyin are incredibly concerned about losing this child as well. Fortunately, the child, whom they name Kerenya is born happy and healthy. Nevyin’s overprotective personality is born along with the child and he hovers a bit with her, absolutely enthralled with the child, proudly announcing to anyone who will listen each milestone that she achieves.

* 2576, 24 Karenni is caught outside and is mauled by thread, leaving her with a permanent limp. His overbearing nature gets on her nerves as she heals and he learns to give her the space she needs to recover.

* 2577, 25 Their first boy, Nevekan, is born. With the pregnancy going swimmingly, and Karenni reminding him not to worry, he backs off a little from this child, having experimented with his overprotectiveness enough with Kerenya. He still loves the child, however, he has grown as a parent and allows Nevekan a lot more room to spread his wings than he had allowed Kerenya.

* 2579, 27 Narinae is born, the pregnancy not going as easily as the last one, forcing Nevyin to hover over Karenni who is left on bedrest for the last couple of months of the pregnancy. Due to the harsh pregnancy, Nevyin is worried about Narinae’s health as a babe and hovers once again. Thankfully, both Narinae and Karenni fully recover.

* 2587, 35 Southern Winds is founded and their family moves to the Weyr. In the move, Kerenya is caught by some of the final threadfalls, and Karenni has a panic attack, remembering her own fight with thread. He gives Kerenya some space, letting her know he is there for her while she heals, but not wanting her to think he is coddling her.

Name:
Klah
Pronounced:
Clar
Color:
Brown
Date of Birth:
2589 9th Interval.
Place of Birth:
Southern Winds Weyr

General Appearance...

Somewhat large and clumsy for a Brown, this sweet-tempered flit is a deep chocolate color without a lot of variation in his hue. The only marked differences on him is the gradient that fades outward on his wingsails toward an orange glow.

Personality...

Mind Voice: He'll only pick up a few words, generally related to food or asking for other things he likes. This Brown's telepathic voice is a musical tenor.

Likes: Playing: Exuberant and good-natured, he adores spending quality time with his 'family'. They can probably even get him to fetch things.
Naps: The only thing he likes more than playing with Nevyin's children -- or anyone, really -- is taking a nap. He'll probably curl up to sleep with them when the children do.

Dislikes: Threats to his family: He'll become protective and hissy when something is threatening the people he cares about with danger.
His children growing up: It'll be a rough transition for him when Nevyin's babies start getting older and moving on with their lives. Odds are he'll still dote on them like they were children, and he'll want his bonded to have more for him to play with.

Member Info...

Anything Else:
He's a sweetheart, but would turn into a monster if he ever needed to defend any of Nevyin's children. He was named jokingly by Nevyin and Karenni, despite not liking the taste of Klah, the colour reminded them both very much of the drink. There’s only one Klah Nevyin likes, and that’s his brown.

Name:
Storm
Pronounced:

Color:
Blue
Date of Birth:
2589 9th Interval.
Place of Birth:
Southern Winds Weyr

General Appearance...

A sleek, almost snake-like Blue, this flit is a deep oceanic teal with turquoise webbing that makes it appear as though he has scales. His colors are fairly stormy, like the tropical waters around Southern Winds whipped into a froth by an oncoming squall.

Personality...

Mind Voice: Low and deep, his voice is a soothing baritone well-suited to orders and crooned lullabies. He will mostly speak to Nevyin and Nevyin's children.

Likes: Calm : Unlike more playful Blues, this fellow isn't interested in troublemaking or being terribly social. Instead, he enjoys the calm stillness after a job well done, or after he and Nevyin have succesfully gotten 'their' children to bed.
Praise : He is a proud little thing, and will thrive on being told he's done a good job. He needs to know that someone has recognized his efforts to be truly happy in whatever job he's been assigned to.
Cuddles: After a long day’s work of childminding there’s nothing better than curling up next to Klah or the children and going to sleep.

Dislikes: Other adults : He's much more comfortable with his bonded's children, and will really only tolerate the other members of Nevyin's family. Anyone else will be promptly ignored. He knows what's best for those he cares for.
Distractions : When he's focused, it's for a reason. Being sidetracked with something else, even another task, will truly annoy him.

W'um of Blue Liramyth

Spoiler for W’um ~ Done:

Play By:
BRUCE WILLIS
Biography

First Name:
Waneum
Honorific:
W’um
Nicknames:
Wummy
Date of Birth:
01.04.2522 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Ruath Hold
Dragon Color:
Blue
Impression Age:
2534/12.
Wing Rank:
Prairie
Weyrmate:
Yarina - deceased

Your Reflection...

Appearance: In his younger days, W’um had a beautiful head of hair, but he very quickly developed a receeding hairline, and decided to start shaving all of his hair off instead. Yarina said it was attractive anyways. W’um now is mostly unfussed by the clothes he wears, his leathers, are aged and worn, and his head doesn’t need to be shaved any longer.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: W’um just coped, he went through stages of extreme grief, losing lover, child and holder roots alike, but in the end, it was he and Liramyth to the end of Pern.

Response to dragon color mutations: It goes against everything that W’um had ever known, but he doesn’t want to have negativity in his life, he doesn’t have time for that anymore, regardless of his worries, he tries to push them to the back of his mind. Let the young Weyrleader prove himself, and then no questions need be asked.

Who are you...

Likes:
Klah – A good way to start his morning, and it has consistently been a good way to start the morning for 60 turns.
Alcohol – He misses the Benden wine of the good ol’ days, and dislikes the new, less fruity varieties of Fort Island
Children – W’um tried to spend as much time as he could in his own children’s lives, but always felt as if he hadn’t done enough after they passed, he loves seeing the look on kids faces as they gaze up at a hulking giant dragon.
Food – W’um just wants to eat everything and anything, he’s the perfect guinea pig for the kitchen workers who are trying something new.
Friends – After losing so many friends through threadfall, he wants to make the most of them now.

Dislikes:
Boring people – Why waste your turns being boring? We’re all doing to die soon anyway.
Being told no – He’ll continuously rant at the younger bronzers who try to tell him what he can and cannot do. “I searched you, don’t tell me what to do,” is his favourite response.
Hunters – Abominable creatures that are against the laws of nature, he doesn’t like them one bit.

Strengths:

* WISE : W’um had learnt how to pick his battles, knowing when to give in and when to keep fighting.

* KNOWLEDGEABLE : It’s hard to go 68 turns without learning a thing or two about Pern, and he’s happy to share his knowledge to whomever asks it of him.

* TRUSTWORTHY : W’um is always going to be honest, and those who have spent time with him know that they can come to him with anything and everything.

* LOGICAL : He will try to never to make a decision based upon fear, however, at his worst, he needs to be reminded to be the logical person he usually is in everyday life.

* WARM : He’s always happy to share a joke with you and will try to make the best of every situation.

Weaknesses:

* OLD : Physically W’um is not of the same calibre he used to be. He gets distracted from human conversations by Liramyth and will sometimes forget names, although he apologises profusely when he does.

* DOESN’T CARE : Since he is not required to train all of the time, he is sometimes not very willing to follow orders, simply being out of practice.

* WHIMSICAL : W’um is a bit of an eccentric character now, wanting to experience everything and anything, but also having bouts of doubting himself when things go wrong.

* SELF-INDULGING : Life’s too short to not eat what you want to eat, or sleep in when you want to sleep in.

* ANXIOUS : When really important things don’t go to plan, W’um can fly off the handle a little bit, he wants things to be good all the time.

Describe Yourself:

* LOVING: ----- W’um and Liramyth just want to spread all of their love around to the whole Weyr. He lost his blood family, so the Weyr is his family now.

* FLIGHTY: ----- Whilst W’um tries to be carefree all the time, he does have times when he can’t deal with mistakes, or he remembers everyone he’s lost, or when he questions what they’re doing on Pern now that threads gone. Even though he’ll teach new dragonriders that they’re always going to be needed on Pern, he has times when he questions that truth.

* KIND: ----- Never will he treat someone badly who didn’t deserve it, he will try to the best of his ability to find the good in people.

* TEACHER: ----- All the knowledge he has filed away in his brain needs to be taught to youngsters. After all, he’s going to die soon, there’s no point having all the information sitting useless in a rotting body.

* MYSTERIOUS: ----- Surviving so long in constant threadfall has left him, along with the other older riders, something of a legend. “The mysterious fading blue dragon and his rider who can make any child into a dragonrider.”

The Magic Touch: Being with Liramyth for so long, he will definitely have to be reminded to speak out loud for the sake of other people, he could spend hours just locked in conversation and forget that other people are with them.

Quote from Dragonflight –
“Don’t quote me verses I taught you as a Weyrling.”
“Then have faith in what you taught.”

This would perfectly describe W’um’s actions when he is at his worst, he’d definitely need a bronze rider to tell him to have faith every now and then.

With his experience, he has become a mentor for some of the young and struggling Prairie wingers.

Tell us a story...

* 2522, 0 Born to Wallemhia and Nineum at Ruatha, with a two turn older brother, Wallemuem. His mother was a holder, she worked in the fields to pick fruits, and his father was a goods trader for Ruatha, travelling with the tithe trains and goods across all of Pern, bringing back stories from every corner of the globe.

* 2525, 3 Aivas is discovered but as young as he is, Wanuem does not know what this could potentially mean for all of Pern.

* 2529, 7 The detonations against the red star fail, and constant threadfall begins. Hearing the stories from his father, who never liked to hide them away from the truth, of the amazing dragonriders who save them each and every day from the threat of thread, plants a seed inside him and begins his dream to becoming a dragonrider.

* 2530, 8 Fall of Bitra. His mother had been originally from the hold and he realises that the dragonriders aren’t able to control what is happening, obviously it is because they need more dragon riders to help them, so his dreams become not just a wild idea, but something which he actually strives for.

* 2534, 12 A blue rider searches him in a rush for High Reaches Weyr, and he is taken straight onto the hatching grounds from his hold, barely able to say goodbye to his family, but unable to wipe the grin from his face as he is whisked off for the chance of a lifetime.

* 2534, 12 Shoved into a white tunic and plonked straight onto the hatching grounds, an egg explodes into pieces right in front of him, and Liramyth topples out of the egg, at Wineum’s, now W’um’s feet.

* 2536, 14 The trade routes of Pern shut down and he hears how badly it is effecting his parents, as his father is now out of a trade and a job, who now has to start working in the hold, not being able to travel and see the wonders of Pern any longer.

* 2536, 14 W’um and Liramyth graduate Weyrlinghood with flying colours and are excited to be allowed to fly a fall for the first time. Finally being able to defeat at least some of the thread that is plaguing Pern.

* 2538, 16 Liramyth searches his first candidate, and the blue is very interested in watching the candiate’s progress through the turns and is incredibly impressed when the child finally impresses. Liramyth reveals to W’um that he just gets a feeling from some children, either strong or weak, but always a feeling. Liramyth could never really describe it in a way that W’um fully understand, but tells his rider that he only chooses those whose signature is very strong to him, he likes to see them impress of course and doesn’t want to give anyone false hope.

* 2541, 19 Birth of first child, Mariya, with a Weyrfolk woman. W’um didn’t have time to experiment in his candidacy or Weyrlinghood, so now he accepts both men and woman alike into his bed. Mariya grows up in Creche under the watchful gaze of her mother, with the occasional visit of W’um and Liramyth.

* 2543, 21 W’um and Liramyth are badly injured in threadfall and spend several sevendays in the healer hall, complaining continuously about being stuck inside in the clammy air. It is there they meet T’nax and Xenrith, injured in the same horrific fall, and they begin a friendship.

* 2546, 24 Fall of Igen and Tanner crafthall, his two brothers had been studying in the tanner hall, and in the evacuation stayed until the last minute to get all of their fellow tanners out. The riders couldn’t hold the Hall and both his siblings perish. W’um hears the story of their bravery through the ranks of riders who were there protecting the hall that day.

* 2549, 27 Ista Weyr falls and a green rider, Yarina, arrives at High Reaches, W’um and Liramyth fall in love and they decide to become permanent Weyrmates, Liramyth never flies another green.

* 2552, 30 Yarina gets pregnant, however mutually they decide that the Weyr needs as many dragonriders as possible, and it is more important for her to fly thread. She goes between and loses the child. They do not resent each other for the decision and become closer than ever, afterall, they have all the time in the world to have children.

* 2557, 35 Mariya impresses a green, and he is so very proud of her, Liramyth himself having searched her, the blue dragon assuring W’um that her draw was strong and he was not influenced by familial ties.

* 2560, 38 Yarina is injured in threadfall, and while not badly, she is grounded to ensure her full recovery. In that time, she becomes pregnant again, and her injury keeps her grounded long enough for the child to be born. W’um and Yarina welcome their son, Yarum, to Pern. He is raised in the Creche but both parents keep a watchful eye on him.

* 2563, 41 Nabol hold falls and Mariya falls with it, desperately trying to save the hold from being destroyed by thread. Whilst W’um had always had a soft spot for holders, his own parents being holders themselves, with Mariya’s death it becomes hard for W’um to not blame the stubbornness of the holders of Nabol for his daughter’s death.

* 2564, 42 Ruatha Hold falls and his parents, both aged and slow, do not survive the horror of the crazed evacuation. All of his family from his holder life are gone.

* 2567, 45 With only two more Weyr’s left to fight. The strain is felt upon all of the dragonriders, and falls get more and more dangerous. In his 45th turn, W’um had flown back to the Weyr to get more firestone, the Weyrlings not being able to shuttle the firestone quick enough for the ferocity of the fall. He turns his head to see a very familiar green fall from the sky, and rushes to catch Yarina as she falls out of her riding straps, thread having eaten through the leather and her through her back. She breathes her last gasp of air in his arms, and he has a battle of wills with her green, holding the dragon to the ground just long enough for him to secure her body onto her saddle. Yarina had always told him that she wanted to go between with her green, not wanting her body, which had spent so long in the sky, to rot under the feet of the Pernese.

* 2568, 46 High Reaches Hold falls, and the it hits home for the Weyr, holder, crafter and Weyr causalities piling up. W’um and Liramyth once again are injured in threadfall.

* 2571, 49 High Reaches Weyr finally falls after long turns of battle, and the weary riders take all the survivors possible with them to try to defend the only stronghold let to them, Fort Weyr.  It is a crushing defeat, but one they realise quickly that they cannot dwell upon, with every survivor squished into limited space, they must protect their final stronghold.

* 2575, 53 His child Yarum impresses, much to the happiness and surprise of Liramyth, as the blue did not personally search the child. W’um doesn’t know whether to be happy or not, having lost so many of his loved ones to thread already, wondering deep down if Yarum might not have been safer to stay as one of the Weyrfolk.

* 2580, 58 His fears are realised as Yarum makes rash decision in a fall, costing him his and his dragon’s life. W’um had no relatives left, and relies upon his friends and fellow dragonriders to keep him from falling apart with grief.

* 2582, 61 With so little Pernese and so little ground to cover, the strain is lessened upon the dragonriders. W’um flies many less threadfalls, he and Liramyth being so very aged by threadscore and time.

* 2587, 65 Despite being old and weary, W’um insists on going on to help investigate for a new Weyr, much to the worry of some of the younger riders.

* 2589, 67 Neisoth flies Kalestath, and S’bok is now Weyrleader. W’um is unsure that so young a man is experienced enough to be Weyrleader, as untarnished and unknowing of the horrors of threadfall as he is. But, he is reminded by Liramyth that thread is no more, so perhaps those who are untarnished by the horrors are better equipped to deal with new issues that will arise.

Liramyth, Sereth, Lorath, back to the Weyr for firestone! Their flight leaders call echoing in the blue dragon’s ears. The Weyrlings cannot keep up! Now!

We must head back to the Weyr. Liramyth informs his rider, and, securing the image of the Weyrbowl firmly in his mind, the three blue dragons blink between simultaneously.

A quick spiral to the packed dirt of the Weyrbowl, leaves W’um enough time to examine the state of the medical response. Weyrfolk women were flitting between dragon and rider, only a few being severely injured, whining with their pain, but most being shuttled off to the ground level Weyrs to rest. The fall was terrible, wind picking up thread and flinging it out of it’s usually predictable pattern, not giving the riders any time to rest.

W’um jogs over to the firestone sacks, hastily stuffed by Weyrlings as exhausted at the riders themselves. His head snaps up as a heart wrenching shriek splits the air and he watches in horror as a familiar green body plummets to the ground.

LIRAMYTH! But the blue had already risen into the air, trying to catch the green whose tail and neck was threaded horrifically, green ichor dripping onto the blue as he tried desperately to break the green’s fall.

W’um was on his feet, sprinting towards the plummeting dragons, staring in horror as the rider’s body slipped from her riding straps, eaten through by thread, “YARINA!”  Liramyth had succeeded in slowly their fall, and Yarina only fell a few feet into the waiting arms of her Weyrmate.

“Yarina…” W’um sobbed, staring in horror at her chest, where thread had eaten its way through to her ribs. “W-W-W’um.” She stuttered, coughing up a mouthful of blood through her beautiful lips, a small hand reaching up in an attempt for one final caress of W’um’s face, but her hand fell before reaching him, as her action draws the last bit of life from her body.

Her green emits a great keen starting to extricate herself from her blue mate. ”NO! WAIT! Liramyth hold her!” W’um and his blue battle to keep the green grounded, as W’um wraps Yarina in his arms, running to her dragon to secure her, one last time, onto the riding saddle.

”GO! GO! She’s ready go…” The green leapt into the air, and blinks between, the Weyr echoing with the hair raising keen of sadness and tribute, for a dragon life lost.

Liramyth shuffles towards his rider as the man collapses onto his dragons shoulder, weeping for his love lost to him.

Dragon Details

Name:
Liramyth
Color:
Blue
Date of Birth:
2534 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
High Reaches Weyr
 Clutch Mother:
Segrith
Clutch Father:
Branth
Measurements: Listed in the dragon information.
Mature Length: 28.5 m
Mature Height: 5.7m
Mature Wingspan: 47.31m

General Appearance...

Liramyth doesn’t remember his gangly dragonet days, although W’um will tease him and say that he was such a pretty boy in that time, always preening and making sure his brilliant blue hide shone. Over the years, his colour has dulled, both through age, and the lighter criss-crossing threadscore that covers almost all of his hide.

Personality...

Mind Voice: Soft and mysterious with a slight echo to his tone. He likes to confuse the candidates and keep them guessing as to where he is.

Likes:
Children – he likes to have them come visit him, but feels no moral obligation to search them even if they beg
Firelizards – it was a shame when he has been so many killed by beach snakes, they’re both afraid to get one themselves and have to deal with losing it
Being right – he loves it when his candidates impress, it means he’s still got it

Dislikes:
Whers – he doesn’t understand the ugly scaly creatures, they’re so complicated and not at the same time. They’re too confusing
Drama – he’s too old for that shit

Strengths:

* CANDIDATE CHOOSING : Not once has a candidate he chose stood on the stands and not impressed, but that does mean he’s only picks about one a decade

* TOLERANT : Liramyth likes to have children crawling all over him, and as long as they'll give him an eye ridge scratch to make up for them accidentally kicking him in the face, he doesn't mind.

Weaknesses:

* PICKY : Picky of females, picky of candidates, just an overly complicated if lovable blue

* EASILY BORED : After so many years, like W’um, he doesn’t care to have to go on and on with drills. It’s a good thing that he is exempt from constant drilling due to his age, otherwise he’d be a bit of a loose canon.

Biography

First Name:
Iralye
Honorific:
N/A
Nicknames:
Those who are close to her call her Ira
Date of Birth:
26.01.2563 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Weyr
Dragon Color:
Green
Impression Age:
2580/17
Wing Rank:
Jungle Wingrider
Weyrmate:
L'ale and L'nal will soon be her most frequent bed partners, but they’re definitely not Weyrmates.

Your Reflection...

Appearance:
Iralye likes to wear her riding leathers, she thinks they make her look intimidating and adds to her serious demeanour which helps to discourage annoying people from talking to her. Waves of thick brown hair are usually pulled back from her face and secured in a tail behind her head by a leather thong, however, in her Weyr (when it’s not too hot) she’ll wear her hair down.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: She thought it was a terrible thing, and was horrific, but the dragonriders did what they had to do, if they hadn't done so, then the Holders would have complained that they weren't doing enough.

Response to dragon color mutations: Not into it. The blacks and reds are new and unusual but what annoys Iralye most is that S'bok has no experience in leading, he should have to climb the ranks just like everyone else, even though she is appreciative of how sure of himself he is.

Who are you...

Likes:
Explicit instructions – Knowing exactly what someone wants you to do, prevents you from screwing up. When her superiors give explicit and detailed instructions it makes her feel calm.
The occasional female blue rider – Iralye has spent nights in the Weyrs of some of the more dominant female blue riders, enjoying their confidence in the bedfurs.
Her close friends – Not having many people that she is close with means that she enjoys every moment she spends with them.
Jungle wing – They’re all competent people with similar mindsets to her, it means she doesn’t have to worry about them disagreeing or arguing uselessly.
Organisation – An organised event, drill, or hunt means a happy Iralye. She doesn’t have to be kept guessing and getting anxious wondering what she’s supposed to do.

Dislikes:
People who don’t know what they want – Iralye gets uncomfortable by people who don’t know what they want, because that may mean she’s at risk of something bad happening.
Disorganisation – Iralye likes to know exactly where her place is and disorganised people don’t help her with that.
Male Brown/Blue riders – Her sexual encounters with them during her youth left her unsatisfied, so she tries to avoid them as much as possible now, although flights mean that she often doesn’t have a choice.
Disrespect – Anyone who is disrespectful to their superiors, don’t know how good they have it. They’re alive, they should be thankful and be listening to the people who are obviously better than them.
Recklessness – It risks everyone around them, she’d rather they just get themselves hurt and away from her so she doesn’t have to worry about them screwing anything up.

Strengths:

* OBSERVANT : Iralye quietly observes of everything around her. She likes to know as much as possible about a place or situation or group of people, so that when given instructions, she already knows anything and everything that could happen.

* DEDICATED : Any task given to her will be undertaken efficiently, not necessarily quickly, but in the end will be perfectly done.

* INTELLIGENT : Iralye is very good at picking up new crafts, whilst she never had the opportunity to train in a specific one, and nor did she ever want that path in life, Iralye was always quick to learn in her Creche, Candidate and Weyrling classes.

* DETERMINED : Iralye doesn’t like to be given impossible tasks, because she will waste so much time doing it. It will crush her if she can’t achieve something because she is so determined to do well.

* DISCIPLINED : She is the perfect little green Jungle rider, not talking back to her superiors and following orders from them without question (as long as they include all necessary information to begin with).

* HUMOROUS : When she does speak, Iralye has a quick and dry humour, favouring puns and sarcasm.
Weaknesses:

* IMPATIENT : Iralye is impatient when it comes to people being not as good as she is. If someone has been given a task, and she thinks she could do it in a mark, then as soon as the mark is over, she’ll get really annoyed at said person.

* DISMISSIVE : Once Iralye had made a decision that someone is not worth her time, she will immediately dismiss them from her life. This also includes Holders whom she will not bother listening to at all.

* CAN'T EXPRESS EMOTIONS : Most definitely not one to tell people her feelings, even those close to her have to wait a long time because she has to admit her feelings to herself as well, and that could take a while.

* INTOLERANT : Stupid, slow, lazy, boring or inefficient people are not worth her time, and she will not tolerate how much they are lacking are a person.

* JUDGEMENTAL : One wrong action will be all Iralye needs to dislike you, and it would take a lot of good actions in order to get back into her good books.

Describe Yourself:

* PRIVATE: ----- Iralye doesn’t like to speak of her personal life with the majority of people, she will have a close group of people that she will talk to about most things, but anyone else will not be privy to her private doings.

* QUIET: ----- Preferring to watch and listen, Iralye is a very quiet person, not feeling the need to fill empty spaces in conversations with talking.

* SUBMISSIVE: ----- In the bedroom, and in her Wing duties, Iralye is incredibly submissive, whilst in other aspects of her life, she will stand up and defend those she loves.

* RESERVED: ----- Iralye is very slow to reveal her emotions, and (if in a Wing situation) will most definitely keep quiet about her opinions if they different from the majority of people.

* ELITIST: ----- She is very much a believer in the hierarchy of the Weyr and expects Holder’s to understand their position… below riders.  Crafters she is conflicted about because they actually are useful.

The Magic Touch:
* She has scars vertically down her left thigh from a bronze dragonet that raked her at the hatching in which she impressed Rallekath.
* Very much Bisexual, but only enjoying dominant personalities
* Close relationship with her father B’lye and his Wingleader W’sar, she had a tricky decision choosing between Mountain and Jungle, but decided that the adrenaline filled Jungle Wing was better suited for who she wanted to become (strong and useful) rather than who she could easily fall into being (someone who just wanted an easy life).

Tell us a story...

* 2563, 0 Born at Fort Weyr to Greenrider B'lye and Bluerider Iratimie. It was this turn that her father lost his leg, so she has gone her whole life only knowing him as the mono-legged rider he is today.

* 2569, 6 Fort Weyr was a treasure trove of tunnels and dark corners for Iralye to explore, whilst she enjoyed sitting in the corner of the Weyr Hall and observing everything that was happening around her, she also loved to run through the tunnels, chasing tunnel snakes and trying to cut their heads off. It was a bit grim, sure, but it made her feel like she was doing something productive at least, instead of just hanging around in the Creche will all the other children, who were too immature for her liking. In her 6th turn, a poisonous spinner bit her and it took over two marks for someone to find her. She could have very well lost her life. Luckily, the Healer on duty when she arrived could work magic with spinner venom, and managed to drain it out of her bloodstream. Iralye doesn’t exactly know how he did this, or how she survived, all she knew was that when exploring in the tunnels from now on, she would be wearing long-sleeved pants and tunics.

* 2575, 12 Living at Fort Weyr, Iralye would creep out of the Creche most days and try to catalogue as much that happened as possible, either observing the subtle interactions between riders and holders, or finding out really how bad the supply shortage is. She would quietly creep around the Weyr, trying to find out everything that’s happening and understand why. Usually trying to avoid detection, one day she was snooping around the supply caverns and a drunk rider turned the corner, smashing right into her. He slurred his words and pointed a shaking finger at her, declaring her searched. Iralye is incredibly happy, her observations from snooping had led her to be annoyed at the Holder-Rider relations. Riders had risked their lives for the Holders and had done everything they could and the Holders haven’t done anything. She has no sympathy for Holders and was very happy to get the opportunity to stand on the hatching sands, she didn’t want want anything else in life but to become a rider.

* 2580, 17 Iralye spent 5 turns as a candidate, but didn’t get discouraged, she couldn’t imagine doing anything else, she didn’t have any other option other than to be a rider. It is in her 5 turns as a candidate that she discovers her enjoyment of women in the bedfurs, and how much she did not enjoy men who wanted her to take charge. Iralye spent a lot of time drifting between Weyrs and other candidate’s rooms for the first few turns, and then eventually got a little too sick of not being satisfied, and toned down her sleeping around, simply because she couldn’t admit to herself why she was unhappy with her sexual encounters. Not particularly liking the idea of limiting herself to women, when she wanted children, but also not liking the idea of having to trawl her way through all the men of the Weyr to find someone who would give her what she wanted. Eventually however, in her 17th turn, she didn’t have to worry any longer because she impressed, her gorgeous Rallekath stumbling towards her after she was raked down the thigh by an impatient bronze, her leg being opened up completely. She had to do a lot of physical exercises to get her muscles back to a proper condition, however luckily, a month before the start of the Weyrling hand-to-hand combat exercises, she was given the go-ahead from the Healer Hall.

* 2582, 19 Rallekath starts to flirt continuously in her last few months of Weyrling training, and Iralye realises that she will most likely rise before the two graduate from Weyrlinghood. She rose in their 17th month of Weyrlinghood, just two months before the entire class graduated.  After a turn of physical therapy, Iralye was very pleased to finally graduate, stronger and more connected to Rallekath forever, ready to fight thread and defend Pern, like they were made to do.

* 2583, 20 Iralye becomes pregnant after a flight in her 20th turn, however, not being particularly connected to the father of the child and thread still falling around Fort Weyr, Iralye isn’t too careful about betweening during her pregnancy. She miscarries the child, and the father never knew. Detaching herself from the situation, Iralye accepts the decision she made, however deep down is disappointed in herself, knowing that it was just another way to disconnect herself from other people.

* 2586, 23 In a tragic accident, one not seen too frequently after everyone ended up in Fort Weyr, Iralye’s mother died in a threadfall, a simple mistake cost her the life of her dragon and herself, and they jumped straight between without even going back to the Weyr. Whilst Iralye knew who her father was, he hadn’t been interested in watching her grow, her mother however, had visited her in the Creche and had been a constant parental figure in her life, a fellow greenrider and woman to look up to. It was her mother’s death that made Iralye reach out to her father, or at least, to let him know what she looked like and what she was doing now. She wanted to have someone to be close with, she had a few friends sure, but she wanted a family member. They started off small, sitting together at dinner times, and then meeting together for lunch in one of their Weyrs, eventually their bond grew to its current friendly and familial relationship. After all, Iralye very much understands and respects the dragonrider way of life and their use of the Creche, so she did not resent her father for his decision.

* 2587, 24 Iralye, whilst growing up in Fort Weyr her whole life, is happy enough to move to Southern Winds after D’mir finds the island. She surprisingly enjoys the move, having many things to do and keep her mind occupied, it was a whole new place to explore, with nooks and crannies which even adult Iralye wanted to know everything about. However, the new colours concern her, what is so different about Fort Island that led to this mutation? Is it stress? Is it something in the water? Will their own currently living dragons be affected? They don’t know anything about the hows and whys and it scares her to have such a large unknown in her life.

* 2588, 25 After one of Rallekath’s flights, Iralye becomes pregnant to a brown rider called T’pin. As is traditional in the Weyr, her son was put into the Creche to be raised by the Weyrfolk. Iralye goes to see her son every now and then, but won’t start to go and see him often until he is old enough to know who she is and remember her. They way her mother was in her life, limited but still there, is the way she wants to be in her son’s and any future children’s life.

The humming of the dragons ringed around the Hatching Sands thrummed in her own bones. Iralye had stood here many times before, she knew the drill, she knew how it went. She would wait… and wait… and wait, slim fingers crossed behind her back that today would be the day.

But this day, her fingers were not crossed, this day felt different. The sands felt hotter under the soles of her feet, and her vision seemed sharper, today was a much different day. Sharp eyes looked around the sands, watching as the first egg broke open, the hatching sands now devoid of the human hum, the echoing dragons the only sound to be heard.

It was a beautiful, sparkling green. The eggshells on her pale but brightly coloured hide, making her look like a precious stone gleaming in the sunlight. The little green creeled with her hunger, and tripped over her wings, the candidates watching anxiously for whom she would choose. Iralye itched to walk towards her, to claim the beautiful green for her own, but she knew she couldn’t the dragonet would come to her if she was worthy.

In her awe watching this green that she was so drawn to, Iralye noticed far too late, as a bronze stumbled towards her. She knew that this bronze would not be for her, but she was too late to step aside, and the beast raked her angrily with a clawed paw when she didn’t move out of the way in good enough time for him.

It was agony. A cry was wrenched from her lips and she fell to the ground, clutching her mangled thigh, still stuck underneath the claw of the bronze. He swung his head from side to side, looking around and examining the fellow candidates, the movement shimmying his claw inside her muscles and tendons, churning her leg up from the inside.

Iralye heard a snapping sound, she didn’t know whether it was bone, or claw, or jaw, but then the claw was gone leaving only agonising pain behind.

Are you okay? Why do you hurt? I don't want you to hurt. It was the most beautiful thing Iralye had ever heard, that tell-tale dragon voice in her head, but like she had never felt before. She had impressed.

”I’m okay, I’m okay. Don’t worry.” An awed smile crossed Iralye’s face, and tears streaked from her eyes and from the pain lancing through her leg.

People are coming! The beautiful Rallekath, the pale, gemstone-like green that she had been entranced by was hers. The lyrical voice tinged with concern over the fast approaching people.

”It’s fine, it’s fine.” A hand, shaking with pain, reached up to the wedge-shaped head of the dragonet. ”They're just here to stop my pain.”

I’m hungry. You’re hurt. Iralye could hear the confusion in the dragonet’s tone, and knew that it could be a bad sign, it was all she had ever been taught, impress then feed, don’t scare them, they don’t understand the emotions.

She turned to a healer that had hurried over and hissed at them. “Get me something for the pain, or bring me food for my dragon.” Iralye would not have Rallekath any more distressed, the pain was nothing to her in comparison to the euphoria she felt, realising that she would be spending the rest of her life, with the beautiful Rallekath.

Name:
Rallekath
Color:
Green
Date of Birth:
2580 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Weyr
Clutch Mother:
Wearoth
Clutch Father:
Sullyeoth
Measurements:
Mature Length: 20.1m
Mature Height: 4.02m
Mature Wingspan: 33.3m

General Appearance...

A light but brightly coloured small green, Rallekath is incredibly lithe, however she was mostly just thin and without much muscle definition in her forearms in her youth. Iralye and Rallekath were assigned extra muscle building exercises in Weyrlinghood in order to build her muscles so she could be strong enough to fly and carry the heavy firestone sacks. Occasionally they will still spend evenings toning their muscles but it is mostly so that the vain Rallekath can admire herself.

Personality...

Mind Voice: Rallekath has a pleasantly lyrical and flirty voice which is a joy to listen to. If only dragons could sing, Rallekath would be a beautiful contralto.

Likes:
Cold and the rain - She will always fly on the coldest day of Winter and in the first monsoon of Fall
Bronzes - So mysterious and big, she likes being dwarfed by their size
Flights - They're always enjoyable, she doesn't have to worry about clutching so she doesn't have to worry about how flights are supposed to be, so she'll fly in the wind and rain to make it as difficult as possible for her suitors, only the dedicated fly her.
Herself - She's quite vain and is very happy to admire her appearance (she looks especially sparkly and beautiful with her lightly coloured hide in the rain when she flies, she stands out against the dark sky like a diamond.)

Dislikes:
Browns - She's always disappointed in a brown catches her, they're always so nice but boring.
Insubordination - During wing activities (like her rider) she is the perfect little green solider, anyone who tries to talk back to their superiors are just wasting time
Holders and Crafters - What use are they if they don't have dragons?

Strengths:

* AGILITY/ACROBATICS : Her lithe muscle toning and small stature makes her very good at speed and in air acrobatics. It has gotten her and Iralye out of a couple of tight spots when the Wing has come across Hunters in the Jungle.

* QUICK THINKING : Her instincts are incredible, she doesn’t need Iralye to tell her to dodge or what to do. She is particularly good at anticipating Wherry flight patterns.

Weaknesses:

* CARRYING STUFF : She’s small, and would definitely not be the first dragon that would be asked to carry something heavy.

* CHEEKY : Outside of Jungle drills and hunts, Rallekath is cheeky, she likes to talk back and to tease, embarrassing Iralye at times at her presumptuousness. However, she would never jeopardise her position or her safety whilst doing anything related to Jungle Wing.

Dragon Speech Code: This is what your dragon's voice will look like. Background: #(B7F7BF); Text: #(7B9180)

Member Info...

Anything Else:
Rallekath is a force catch and will fly on the 17.01 and 20.07 (coldest day of Winter and first monsoon of fall), she’s quite dramatic.

Weyrsecond B'ron of Bronze Leremith
« Reply #10 on: January 24, 2017, 10:01:09 PM »
DONE

Spoiler for B'ron:

Play By:
AHN SUNG KI
Biography

First Name:
Belleron
Honorific:
B'ron
Nicknames:
None
Date of Birth:
06.06.2540 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Weyr
Dragon Color:
Bronze
Impression Age:
2557/16.
Wing Rank:
Weyrsecond
Weyrmate:
Vanelwynne

Your Reflection...

Appearance: B'ron likes to wear clothes that make him look powerful, but don't make him stand out too much because they look "too good" to get dirty. He suits dark browns and blacks, preferring to stay away from the muted colours that Halirina prefers. He once made the mistake of wearing a lighter muted brown to a Weyrleader meeting, and hated how in-sync he and Halirina looked.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: He fought he way through to survive. He put himself in harms way everyday without hesitation because he knew he had no other choice. B'ron has never really thought much about it, it was just the way it had to be.

Response to dragon color mutations: B'ron doesn't necessarily hate the mutations but what they represent. If S'bok hadn't pushed him out of his Weyrleader position, then perhaps he would have felt more kindly towards the new colours (considering his Leremith sired a black in the first place), but now that it is S'bok making this all happen. He hates it.

Who are you...

Likes:
Power: B'ron, having been Weyrleader for so many turns, hasn't had a lack of power, and now that he has lost it to S'bok, he realised that he will do anything to get it back.
Being respected: He hates it when people do not give him the respect that he is due. He has invested so much of his life into protecting the Weyr, and the people around him.
Quiet: B'ron enjoys spending a lot of time alone, because he hates unnecessary prattling.
Efficiency: Spending many turns as Weyrleader has made him appreciate those who can follow instructions and orders quickly and efficiently. He hates getting his time wasted.
Sex: Pure male domination, he expects his woman to be at his beck and call, part of the reason why he hates Halirina, because she will not be told what to do.

Dislikes:
S'bok: B'ron feels like not only is S'bok a usurper, but an inexperienced, child usurper, who is going to make the Weyr worse off in the long run.
Failure: His biggest failure in life is losing his Weyrleadership to a mutation and to a child, he feels almost like he let down the Weyr by letting that happen.
Affection: He doesn't have any loving emotions to anyone other than Leremith, so those couples that spend all their time kissing and cuddling in public areas just confuse and annoy him.
Exuberance: There are things to be done and life has been hard, those that are too happy and too loud to suit a situation annoy him.
Holders: He doesn't like the way they run their holds and doesn't understand their prudish views on flights and Weyrlife. B'ron feels like his, (and dragonriders), contribution to Pern has been far more meaningful than any Holder. Crafters are more tolerable because they are actually useful sometimes.
Halirina: He tries to make an effort to not fight with her in public, but will purposefully antagonise her behind closed doors in the complete opposite of her passive aggressive ways.

Strengths:

* EXPERIENCED : Being a Weyrleader for over 20 turns during some of the hardest times that Pern has experienced, has caused him to become knowledgeable and skilful in many forms of leadership.

* AUTHORITATIVE : People trust in his experience and in his determination to make the right decisions. Whilst some may personally disagree with him, he has done a good job leading Fort Weyr and Southern Winds Weyr in the past.

* UNCONCERNED : B'ron is not at all worried about the opinions of people whom he does not deem to be worthy. Dragonriders should respect him for the work he has done, but holders? He doesn't care about what they think of him one bit. Halirina and he have a mutual dislike for each other, so over the years, her opinion of him has become less and less important.

* DETERMINED : B'ron is determined to become Weyrleader again, he will stop at almost nothing, short of actually murdering S'bok in his sleep, to regain his rank.

* STRATEGY : Planning and tactics have always been his strong suit, he's always been a forward thinker and has been able to quickly adapt his plans during threadfall and during important meetings if necessary.

Weaknesses:

* EASILY FRUSTRATED : When things go wrong, B'ron gets easily frustrated and needs to take it out on something or someone. Usually, he will reserve this for Halirina, or currently Vanelwynne, but regardless of how he takes out his frustration, it would never be at the detriment of tarnishing his name. He would never break down in front of a council for example, but would be more than happy to whisper angrily into Halirina's ear, or leave early to go smash up his Weyr.

* BLUNT : Not one to mince words, if you're being an idiot, he will tell you, if he hates your idea, he will tell you, there is no time to waste with idle political correctness.

* SELFISH : B'ron's ultimate goal is to regain his Weyrleadership status, and he won't let anything get in the way of that, he will use and abuse anyone he needs to because ultimately he only cares about himself and his goal.

* JUDGEMENTAL : He will be very quick to judge your character based upon your, profession, upbringing, dragon and more. It would be very unlikely that he would change these opinions either.

* POSSESSIVE : Since B'ron can only have Vanelwynne, he will make sure that she does not have any other feelings for anyone else, in any way.

Describe Yourself:

* MANIPULATIVE: ----- B'ron is very good with knowing what to say and when to get people to trust him, he just doesn't often use this ability. In his quest to regain his rank he will exploit all those who deign to have emotions (unlike him.)

* ANNOYED: ----- B'ron is in a perpetual state of annoyance, because every little thing that makes other people happy, (sunshine, laughing, cuddling) annoys him to no end.

* SEVERE: ----- Growing up in hard times, B'ron will not hesitate to make a harsh decision if he feels it is necessary, and will not be emotionally compromised by it in any way.

* EMOTIONLESS: ----- Love, gratitude, warmth and attachment are all not something that B'ron has ever felt for another human. Leremith perhaps, but not a breathing, talking human being, they're too annoying.

* BACK-STABBING: ----- He's going to make S'bok look as bad as he possibly can. There will be no remorse, and no trying to leave S'bok with a good name afterwards. B'ron will take S'bok down.

The Magic Touch: If there’s anything else you’d like to add, like habits or an addiction, please add it here.

Family...

Mother: Ailleron of Green Savuth, b. 2521 imp. 2536 d. 2561
Father: Beryn of Blue Jyth, b. 2518 imp. 2530 d. 2561

Siblings: B'ron could possibly have others but he never knew them and never bothered to find out

Children:
Halion - b. 2571. d. 2580

He has had children earlier in life, but never kept track of them.

Tell us a story...

* 2540, 0 Born at Fort Weyr to a Blue Rider and a Green Rider and raised in the creche amongst other rider children. His parents were not a big part of his life, but he knew their names and looked up to them as a child, as the defenders of Pern.

* 2547, 7 Weyrs have been abandoned and holds have been lost. Fort is holding strong, but even so young B'ron knows that he wants to be a dragonrider and protect Pern from thread. It is at the age of 7 when he tries to connect with his parents, and get them to teach him watch they know about the life of a rider.

* 2553, 13 B'ron had spent the last turn getting into the face of as many search dragons as possible, so he was incredibly excited when he was accepted into candidacy and took to his classes with enthusiasm.

* 2557, 17 After 4 turns of candidacy, B'ron was getting very bored. He was sick and tired of classes and chores and just wanted to get his own bloody dragon. In one particular Sendanath clutch, B'ron was angry that all the dragons were walking past him, until the final egg lay on the sands, and he placed himself firmly right in front of it, waiting for it to crack open. Leremith took his time getting out of his shell, but was pleased enough that B'ron wasn't making him walk far to find him.

* 2559, 19 Excelling in his Weyrling training, he graduated as soon as possible, and excitedly prepared to fight thread. Watching all the fully-fledged dragonriders go out and fight while he had to stay home, frustrated him, so the day he joined a wing, was an incredibly satisfying day for the young rider.

* 2561, 21 The turns became harder for B'ron after this, he was old enough to experience all the devastation with the eyes of a man and truly understand the casualties of war. It's in this turn that his parents die at the final stand at Telgar Weyr, trying to help protect the holders, crafters and other riders for as long as possible, but the both succumbed to nasty threadfall injuries and he hardened himself even further from any emotions. He had looked up to them his whole life, but now he needed to be his own example.

* 2564, 24 B'ron worked long and hard for the Weyr, and didn't hesitate when given orders. It was during this time that he begun to appreciate good leadership and efficiency, and when he was promoted to Wingsecond he thought it was a great honour to be granted and took to it with single minded focus. It was around this time that B'ron seriously started setting his sights upon Weyrleadership and worked hard to get there.

* 2567, 27 It was the next logical step for B'ron to be promoted to Wingleader. Leremith was chasing more golds and becoming a serious contender for some of them, and his work as wingsecond in whipping the wing into shape (literally and figuratively) had not gone unnoticed by leadership.

* 2569, 29 The first time Leremith catches Kalestath means that B'ron is promoted to Weyrleader. This is what he had been working for and took to the job with enthusiasm. It was over the next few turns that Halirina and B'ron realise they can't stand each other. Despite having many similar opinions they absolutely hate to agree with one another, and over time developed more discreet ways of dealing with each other, that didn't involve arguing in front of other people.

* 2571, 31 Birth of his child Halion with Halirina. He supposed it had to happen eventually, B'ron was proud that he was able to continue on his bloodline. Surely the son of the Weyrleader and Weyrwoman, his son, would become a strong dragonrider in time.

* 2575, 35 The Weyr has been alone for turns, and crowds of refugees living in the hold and Weyr is making living conditions terrible, but the Weyrleadership can do nothing. Thread is still falling erratic and hard, and the remaining survivors are doing all they can, under the leadership of Halirina and B'ron, to protect the remaining Pernese population.

* 2580, 40 In his 9th turn, Halion contracted a terrible sickness, from which he never recovered and ultimately passed away from. B'ron was not a loving father, nor was he an active one, but deep down he had a slight hope that the child of the two Weyrleader's would go onto do great things, and also hoped he would be able to take credit for at least some part of it. Even then, he was sad that Halion had died, but not devastated, it just simply seemed like another casualty of hard times.

* 2581, 41 A handful of Queens are lost due to rising at the same time, and it is a huge blow to the Weyr. B'ron and Halirina must pull through together, regardless of their dislike for each other, to unite the Weyr in a time of great struggle, when it seems like all hope is lost.

* 2587, 47 The move to find and create Southern Winds Weyr is a risky one. But ultimately, the right decision as they all start afresh, however the hatching of Neisoth the black dragon puts a new wave of uncertainty in the minds of everyone. B'ron too, knows not what to think about the black dragon produced from the most recent clutch, but thinks that he has not much choice about it, so puts it to the back of his mind for the time being.

* 2589, 49 After 20 turns of flying Kalestath and leading the Weyr with Halirina, B'ron and Leremith find themselves dumped from their post, after Neisoth, the black dragon wins Kalestath's flight. This puts even more of a dampener on B'ron's opinion of the mutation colours and he vows to get "his rank" back. S'bok has no idea what he is doing, and Halirina can't do everything by herself, the boy is going to run B'ron's Weyr into the ground.

* 2590, 50 Current day, B'ron is Weyrmated to Vanelwynne after Leremith flew Oriath. Now Weyrsecond, B'ron has to figure out how to get the Weyrleadership back.

Leremith stayed close to Kalestath, not wanting her to outwing him to such an extent that he would not be able to recover. They were far into their flight now, many of the lesser dragons had dropped out, but he had eyes only for his gold. His queen.

Come to me my Queen! He called after her, luring her with the memory of familiarity.

But she didn't come to him, instead, he watched as his Queen was embraced by the black wings of a usurper, and Leremith roared in annoyance at his defeat, the sound sure to shake the ground upon which many Weyrfolk stood. The bronze plummeted to the ground in his defeat, landing on the floor of the Weyrbowl bristling with anger, before he was able to control himself enough to wing his way back up to his Weyrledge.

B'ron was sucked back into his own body, now completely himself again, but still filled with the insatiable lust of Leremith. He had lost. Leremith had lost. They had lost. And not just the flight. Everything, they had lost everything.

He ran from the Weyr as fast as he could, not looking back to watch Halirina and S'bok melt together. Weyrleader and Weyrwoman. Stumbling through the halls, he was more than happy when a greenrider, waiting at the entrance to her Weyr, dragged him inside to have her way with him. But that was not the way it was going to be.

His mind was swirling with flightlust, but his rage was so strong that it was seeping through, creeping to the forefront of his thoughts. So much so that he took it out on the rider underneath him, not bothering to worry about how much his hands hurt her, because he knew she would remember naught of it.

B'ron took her hard and fast, the pain and pleasure blurring together to fill the gaping hole that had been left inside him, when Leremith had lost. When Neisoth had won. When B'ron had ceased to be Weyrleader.

When he was done, he passed out onto the greenriders bed. He was lucky that his rage had got the better of him during a flight. The bruises she would awake to the next day, would be simply a token a flightlust, not a token of rage.

Bronze
Date of Birth:
14.01.2557 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Weyr
Clutch Mother:
Sendanath
Clutch Father:
Bendeth
Measurements:
Mature Length: 38m
Mature Height: 7.6m
Mature Wingspan: 36.08m

General Appearance...

Leremith started as a young dragonet incredibly shiny, over his long hard turns and threadscoring, Leremith's hide now looks almost brown. The bronze's sheen now appearing only when the sun is up, at a glance at night, he could easily pass as an incredibly large brown.

Personality...

Mind Voice: Leremith's voice isn't deep, but isn't high. It's just normal. When he's happy he sounds happy, and when he wants to make himself heard, he will.

Likes:
- Golds, Kalestath and Oriath especially.
- Flying, not just to catch golds, but also just for fun
- Swimming in cold water, he hates the warm beaches of Fort Island

Dislikes:
- Reds, annoying tiny little things, he can't dislike blacks as he sired one of his own, but reds are all Neisoth's fault
- Being too hot, Leremith has been known to sunbake every once and a while, but hates when he is forced to stay outside in the heat after it has gotten to an uncomfortable temperature.
- Greens, he has never had an interest in them. They are too obvious, too desperate.

Strengths:

* AMICABLE : Quite the contrary to his rider, Leremith has to be the one to maintain a cool head in their relationship.

* FLIGHTS : Leremith has won many a flight in his lifetime, both through sheer power and tactical approaches. He knows when to hold back, and when to push his advantage.

* PATIENCE : Instead of getting bitter about it, Leremith will be patient and bide his time until he can catch Kalestath again.

Weaknesses:

* HUMOROUS : Leremith has a bit of a lewd sense of humour, which sometimes can come off as a little offensive to the more sensitive souls, although he usually reserves his comments for B'ron, who has remained consistently unamused by his dragon's humour.

* PROTECTIVE : Sometimes this could be seen as way too overprotective, Leremith is usually calm, but will fly off the handle at a slight to either one of his favourite Queens.

* GALLANT : Leremith will always wax eloquent about his current queen.

Candidate Ysveta
« Reply #11 on: February 08, 2017, 10:03:46 PM »
Spoiler for Ysveta:

Play By:
Sveta Barbachakova
Biography

First Name:
Ysveta
Nicknames:
Whatever anyone wants to call her
Date of Birth:
02.04.2572 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Weyr 9th Pass
Job Before Search:
Apprentice Harper - Musical Theory
Color Preference:
I've thought about this a whole bunch, and I've tried to write down my own ideas about each possible colour, but I don't want to limit you because I think you'd do a really good job with whatever dragon you would design for her.
My top two are probably green and brown, because they can stick up for her and bring out a new side to her.
But also, that could happen with blue and red.
So I just want you guys to do what you think is best for her.
Future Rider Name:
Her name will stay the same.
Husband/Wife:
None

Your Reflection...

Appearance: Ysveta has been given the gift of her mothers long raven coloured hair, which is very easy for her to keep in a good condition, she doesn’t have to put very much effort into it at all to keep it sleek and straight. Typically preferring sandy coloured clothes that fit her body loosely, she stays away from the more dramatic darker colours that don’t suit her personality. She likes to keep neat and tidy, however, it is not always easy when she has stayed up all night in the same clothes she wore the day before.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: Ysveta just buried her head in her books and didn’t really look up. She’s sure to feel sympathetic to those who lost so much in the catastrophe, but she’s of the opinion that this particular horrible event is in the past, and should stay there.

Response to dragon color mutations: Ysveta couldn’t care less, neither S’bok nor any of the new coloured dragons have ever impacted on her ability to study, nor have they done anything to her personally to make her dislike them. However, since she has become a candidate, she had become more interested in finding out why these new dragon colours exist, why did Neisoth appear in the first place?

Who are you...

Likes:
Satriet - Her best friend from her childhood who turned out to be her half brother. He always seemed to get her as a child, and was always there for her when she came running to him with her problems.
Study – Being able to focus on just one thing really makes her feel at peace, she can forget everything around her.
Teaching – Ysveta loves to be able to help other people when they are struggling, however, she hasn’t been able to extend the love of teaching to being a crèche assistant yet, those her own age or older are much easier to deal with.
Hard workers – It’s hard to not appreciate those who don’t shirk from their duties, if Ysveta knows that someone is a hard worker, she’ll find it way easier to trust them and like them, because that's something they have in common.
Silence while working – She has found that her best work is done in the middle of the night, when everyone else has gone to bed. It’s the only way she’s found to be able to work well, with so many people shoved together in the Weyr.

Dislikes:
Failure – Ysveta doesn’t understand failure. If she can prevent failing, she will. Handing something in late, isn’t failure to her, but handing something in that isn’t perfect is.
Complainers – She likes work, she likes to succeed, she likes late nights, those who complain that they had to work hard to do well aren’t worth her time.
Egotistic people – The only people who deserve to act like they’re the best in the world, are the people who actually are. Those who aren’t all that good, but are still very cocky, annoy Ysveta to no end.

Strengths:

* AUTHENTIC : What you see is what you get with Ysveta. She’ll always stay true to herself and if you ask for the truth, she’ll say it, regardless of how much it may hurt, because she never really learnt how to be tactful.

* KIND : Whilst Ysveta will tell the truth if you ask for it, she won’t purposely go out of her way to hurt someone with the truth. She genuinely enjoys the company of other people, and endeavours to be kind to them. However, unfortunately, she is just awkward sometimes, because she doesn't know if something is the right or wrong thing to say.

* SCORES: Musical scores are really her strength. If someone can’t figure out why their chord isn’t sounding right, or why the progression doesn’t seem to work, Ysveta can pick it out without even having to look at the music.

* INTELLIGENT : Whilst Ysveta did have to work hard in her studies, musical theory does just come naturally to her. She has both a good ear and a good brain for remembering all the various rules and exclusions for “proper” musical composition.

* WELL-SPOKEN : Ysveta’s training at the harper hall has left her with a clean and intelligent speech pattern. When she was younger, it astonished her elders to hear her speak as such, and even now, she prefers to keep slang and swearing out of her vocabulary.

Weaknesses:

* TUNNEL-VISION: Ysveta will block out everything around her, just to focus on one thing at a time. Either, her current score, or her health, or, when the time comes, her dragon. This means that she is not an efficient multi-tasker and be consumed by one project for potentially an unhealthy amount of time.

* SELF-WORTH : She didn’t do anything special to get the chance to stand for a dragon, some search dragon simply liked the look of her. Ysveta feels like she's been given an honour which she hasn't worked for and it worries her that she may not ever have closure on that fact.

* INDEPENDENT : The worst thing about the harper hall, was group performances. Working with other people, and trying to learn how to hold her critiques to avoid offending others, caused her to simply enjoy working by herself.

* TACTLESS: Wanting to be kind and wanting to be truthful is not always easy for Ysveta to achieve. She has learnt over the years to keep her mouth shut when the truth might hurt, however, as a young child, getting punished for telling the truth, has turned her into an awkward socialiser now. Paired with her unbalanced lifestyle, she is not always the easiest person to be friends with.

* OBLIVIOUS: Ysveta knows nothing about "being in love", she’s experimented sexually with a few people when she first entered her candidacy, but she didn’t exactly feel the need to spend more time on it, not when she could continue her harper studies in her spare time instead. Satriet has been in love with her since childhood, and it has never even crossed her mind.

Describe Yourself:

* LOVING: ----- Ysveta cares a lot about the people around her, but she hasn't identified the concept with "loving" people yet. Whilst she may never be aware of romantic love, meeting her family will really bring out the caring, family-oriented side to her that will enjoy being loved. Ysveta will also accept close friends into her family bubble, not really needing to differentiate between family and friends.

* PROUD: ----- When Ysveta has put a lot of work into something, she can be proud and even pretentious, knowing that her work is the best that she could have done. Depending on the people around her, this can come across as annoying, however she isn't trying to be obnoxious, she is simply stating, what she believes, to be fact.

* PERFECTIONIST: ----- Instead of handing in something sub-par,  but on time, Ysveta would rather miss the due date of an assignment and force the Master Harper to mark her work anyways. She cannot handle the possibility that work she is being judged on is not absolutely perfect.

* UNBALANCED: ----- Ysveta doesn’t know how to balance her social life and her academics. Staying up all night working, and sleeping in her free time, made her an awkward friend in the Harper Hall. Satriet was the only one who persisted through her strange hours, but Ysveta constantly needs to be reminded to balance her own needs against her work.

* NIGHT OWL: ----- Whilst everyone is asleep and quiet, Ysveta gets the majority of her work done, luckily, she doesn’t need much sleep to function during the day.

The Magic Touch:
- Her brother Satriet is in love with her and has been since they were children.
- Ysveta has perfect pitch
- She has given up everything she has over known in the Harper Hall for the chance to be a dragonrider. Ysveta will really need the guidance of other people to help her understand how

Children: Ysveta never slept with anyone before her candidacy, however, if she was to get pregnant during her candidacy, she would probably take a swift trip between, because she doesn't want to deal with a child.

Tell us a story...

* 2572, 0 Born at Fort Weyr, she was raised in the crèche with a wonderful gaggle of other children.

* 2576, 4 This is when the children really started to take general lessons. Ysveta forms a close friendship with a fellow creche child, called Satriet. He is sweet and bubbly, and even for Ysveta's more quiet personality, friendship between them is natural and easy.

* 2580, 8 Discovers her love of learning, and music. The Harper who comes to teach to children the ballads and songs starts to become almost an obsession for the young Weyrbrat, and she tries to coax as much knowledge out of him as she can when he is teaching them. This go get ‘em attitude, mostly gets on the nerves of the other children, as she simply won’t sit still and let them listen to the harper singing, constantly jumping up and down wanting to ask a question about how the music was composed, not how to sing it, as all the other kids were happy to know.

* 2582, 10 Her friend Satriet, goes to study at the Harper Hall, much to Ysveta’s excitement as she can live vicariously through him until she is old enough to go study there as well. Not at all jealous of his achievement, because she simply knows that it would be only another two turns until she can join him there.

* 2584, 12 Obviously, she wouldn’t let her Harper teacher get away with not recommending her to the Harper Hall (not that it took much persuading), and she took to her studies with excitement when she was finally accepted. It was a hard time for her, her enthusiasm for work made her alienate many of her peers. None of the other children wanted to be in private tutoring with her, because she would constantly be asking the teaching Journeyman to correct the things that she was doing wrong. Through Satriet’s kindness, getting her to classes and meals on time, she learnt the value of being nice, and learnt how good it felt to have people who cared about her in her life, even if it was a difficult process.

* 2586, 14 Still fast friends with Satriet, his father S’vet, comes to visit his son at the Harper Hall. However, S'vet, despite not actually ever having met Ysveta, calls her by the name, Sirana. Once he realises his mix-up, S’vet apologies for his mistake, explaining that she looked freakily like his daughter Sirana. After a lunch of lingering glances, S’vet asks who her mother is, and Ysveta informs him of the name that she was told when she was in the crèche, Yinaya.  It is then that all the pieces seem to fall together for S’vet, even if Satriet and Ysveta still haven’t understood what is going on. S’vet says that he thinks he is Ysveta’s father, remembering a couple night stand with Yinaya, and recalling vaguely her pregnancy afterwards, although, he had not made the connection back then. Ysveta was too involved with her studies to really spare any thought for her father, she didn't need his involvement in her life to be successful, and so she never really bothered to connect with him much more.

* 2587, 15 S’vet gets killed by Hunters in one of the first encounters with the terrifying creatures that inhabit Fort Island. Satriet and her relationship begins to strain, already Satriet had been distancing himself from Ysveta (although she was too focused on her studies to notice), and now the death of his father hit him hard. It was not the loss of S’vet that affected Ysveta, but the newfound distance of her best friend. Satriet was the only person who truly understood her, and now, for a reason that Ysveta can’t fix, he was running away from her, and so she throws herself into her studies even more and uses her tunnel-vision to her advantage to avoid the hurt.

* 2589, 17 After throwing herself into her studies, Ysveta is searched. Only a few turns away from the potential of being tapped, the decision to accept her candidacy was a wild one. Confused by the lack of Satriet in her life, she takes this one leap of faith, and decides also, to seek out her mother. After all, it’s never to late to have a mother figure in your life, especially if you need one.

This was the day, she needed to find her mother. After asking around a bit in the candidate barracks with the more social and experienced of the candidates, Ysveta had a pretty good idea of where she could find her. She was a Prairie Wing rider, so Ysveta was going to look there first. Hopefully, she would be able to pick her mother out of a crowd, but having never really talked about Yinaya with S'vet before he died, she didn't really have an idea of what kind of person she was looking for.

It was the hair that she was hoping would stand out to her. When she had met S'vet, the first thing that had stood out to her was his tight blonde curls, so if her mother didn't have the same perfectly straight her as her, she would probably question the truth of her parentage.

Deep breath. It won't be weird. Hopefully she wants to know about her children, because Ysveta... needed someone to talk to about why she was here, and what being a dragonrider was all about. But if Yinaya didn't want to know about her, she would steel her nerves and walk away, it was just something that she would have to move on from.

Ysveta's head snapped up from where she had been staring at the ground thinking, tapping her hands against her thigh in her anxiousness, the riders were back from their drills, landing in the middle of the Weyr bowl to gather for a final send off it seemed. She stood, her fingers still playing at her thigh, her eyes trained upon the group, waiting for them to disperse.

THE WORST EVER
YOU MADE ME DO THIS
Spoiler for Tresrissa:

Play By:
Candice Huffine
Biography

First Name:
Tresrissa
Nicknames:
Tressie, Rissa, Tres
Date of Birth:
18.04.2571 9th Pass or 9th Interval.
Place of Birth:
Fort Hold
Spouse:
Not yet

Your Reflection...

Appearance: Tresrissa was well provided for as a child, she did not have to want for food or shelter, regardless of the circumstances of others around her. It shows in her clear skin, and voluptuous figure. Rarely having to get down and do any dirty work, her hands are uncalloused and smooth, and her skin has a sunkissed look.

Her clothes are important to her, she always wants to look good, and her family has never denied her that privilege. She likes to adorn herself with beautifully crafted wherhide jackets, and bracelets made out of wherhide. It doesn't really register to her, that her Wher could one day be made into a jacket, that logical step is simply something she chooses to not think about.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: Tresrissa survived because of her parents, without them she wouldn't be the pampered woman that she is today. Mostly, she is blissfully unaware of the catastrophe, whenever the family conversation turns to anything important, Tresrissa never really understands the implications of death and devastation, and therefore has never truly known the full extent of the disaster that almost everybody else has had to come to terms with.

Response to dragon color mutations: Tresrissa doesn't really care about them that much. She doesn't like being told what to do by anyone other than her family (who gives them the right?), so overall is annoyed at their current situation. But if a dragonrider is nice to her, then good for them, she won't be overtly mean to them but if a dragonrider isn't nice, she'll go tell her mother and father. She doesn't really care about what colour dragon they impressed.

Who are you...

Likes:
The sun - her skin is the perfect tone to get deepen her tan but not get a sunburn, so she loves to spend her time evening out her skin tone.
Her family - they're the most important people in Tressie's life (other than herself of course)
Tressisk - her Wher has always been there to protect her and if Tressisk would ever actually die in the line of duty, then it would hurt Tresrissa for a long while.
Nycolus' wife - Caleah and Tressie just clicked when they first met. Tresrissa has always looked up to the wife of her older brother and it's devastating that her and her Wher were dragged off into the Jungle.
Socialising - Tressie loves to talk, about anything and everything, never at a loss for words, Tresrissa will talk someone's ear off, and usually has to be told to shut up.
Crafty things - She doesn't like being still, so having things to do with her hands keeps her amused. Not usually sticking to one thing for an extended period of time, Tressie has tried a whole load of different arts and crafts.

Dislikes:
Weyr life - Tresrissa wants to be a good wife, she wants to be looked after and cared for by a man, and she doesn't understand the fluid lifestyle that dragonriders can lead. Being raised by her parents her entire life, she cannot reconcile the idea that, in the Weyr, they don't raise their own children.
Being told what to do (anyone other than family) - Being so well looked after by her family has meant that the idea of anyone else believing they have the right to lord over her, when the only people who have ever done anything for her is her family, is absolutely ridiculous to her.
Being told no - There's something about the word 'no' that just irks her. The only people she will actually listen to if they say no, are her family members, however she will only complain, and then submit.
Being still - Tressie has a reasonably short attention span, so doesn't stick to things for very long, that includes listening to speeches and having to not fidget.
Maeron - what a waste of space, he did nothing for her family when they were struggling.

Strengths:

* WARM : Not one to shield her emotions, Tresrissa likes to make people feel good and likes to feel good herself in return. She likes compliments and therefore the logical step is that she would compliment people. She likes to be supported by physical touch, therefore she would do the same for other people. Generally, a happy and kind person, she's someone that people want to be around.

* BEAUTIFUL : Tresrissa has inherited her mothers good looks, and knows how to use them to her advantage. If, Faranth forbid, one member of her family isn't around to make sure she gets what she wants, Tressie knows how to use her wiles to her advantage.

* FAMILY : Her family is one of her biggest strengths. They have always been there to support her and encourage her, and will always be there for her to count on.

* COOPERATIVE : Even though Tresrissa will complain all the way through her task, there is no reason for her to not actually do what her family asks of her. After moving to Fort Island, she has become determined in her task to be a helpful and functioning member of her family.

* LIVELY : Tresrissa enjoys doing things, being out and about, and talking to people. Not really being touched by the horrors that many others faced, she doesn't see any need to be sad about anything. Tressie just wants to have a good time with everything she does.

Weaknesses:

* NAIVE : Since Tressie never really understood what everyone else on Pern went through, she seems to think that everyone should be happy and nice. Which makes her not the best judge of character. However, she can acknowledge her own naivety and therefore will always try to take advice from her family.

* OBLIVIOUS : Tresrissa doesn't really understand the implications of her family's business, if she truly understood the concept of death, or even actually came to terms with what her mother actually does for a living, she would probably break. So she'll ask about how their day went, and she'll be sufficiently interested, but she won't understand how it could really affect other people.

* IMPATIENT : Waiting is definitely not one of her strong points, if someone says it'll take a sevenday for them to complete something, she'll ask why they can't just work harder and get it done sooner. She doesn't really have a concept of how long things take to do, and therefore doesn't like to be told that what she wants is impossible.

* TATTLER : If someone crosses her, Tressie will most likely go and tell her family about what happened. She might try and sort it out herself, to an extent, but she is more than happy to let her family use their collective muscle to get Tresrissa what she wants, or to teach someone a lesson, if she can't do it herself.

* WASTEFUL : Tressie was never really old enough in the hardest times of the pass to truly understand the conditions in which people lived in Fort Hold. All she knew was that she always had food, clothes and toys, and was therefore never really worried about wasting them, as she could always easily get a replacement.

Describe Yourself:

* OPTIMISTIC: ----- Everything has always turned out alright in the end for Tresrissa, thanks to her solid framework of family ties, so it just makes sense for her to assume that everything will always turn out okay in the end.

* PAMPERED: ----- Tressie likes to be spoilt and always has been by her mother and father, who fought tooth and nail against the slowly declining society of Fort Hold, to keep their children safe. If she ended up married to someone who wasn't going to give her attention and flowers and gifts, then she would not be a very happy girl.

* EXCITED: ----- It's not very hard to get Tressie enthusiastic about something, if someone else is happy about something, Tressie will be too. Even if it doesn't directly effect her, if something interesting or new is happening, Tressie will want to be in on that.

* PREJUDICED: ----- Whilst Tressie tries to make up her own opinions, at first meeting, if her family shares a certain opinion on someone and something, it is likely that Tressie will also have that same opinion. It is not impossible to change that opinion, simply by being nice to her, but if her family is very steadfast in theirs, it would be unlikely.

* COMPLAINER: ----- If something does not go her way, or if Tressie decides she doesn't want to do something, she will stamp her feet and moan and whine until she gets told off by her family.

The Magic Touch:
She has a sweet tooth, and the lack of supplies at the Weyr for sweet treats has made her not very happy indeed.
She is also not a fan of manual labour. Cleaning out Wher cages and the like for her family, she will do, but if anyone asks her to muck out the herdbeast stalls for the Weyr, she will moan about how a proper Hold-bred lady should not be forced to do the work of drudges.

Family...

Mother: Tavianna, 2555, Wherbutcher
Father: Notkerric, 2547, Peacekeeper

Siblings:
Nycolus, 2568, Wherhandler
Nealros, 2575, Wherfighter

Children: Her parents haven't found anyone worthy for her to marry, so she hasn't had any children yet.

Tell us a story...

* 2571, 0 Born with one older brother, to Tavianna and Notkerric at Fort Hold.

* 2575, 4-9 Her younger brother Nealros is born and their close family unit grows by one. Tresrissa is so incredibly loved by her entire family, Nycolus by this age, is old enough to be keeping Tresrissa occupied and takes care of her when their parents are working. This forms a very close bond between the two of them. Whilst Tresrissa will tell her mother she is a Mummy's Girl and her father she's a Daddy's Girl, she truly looks up to her older brother and is grateful for their close bond. Not much of a protector herself, she doesn't take on the role of looking after her younger brother Nealros when he comes along, and is more than happy enough to let Nycolus look after both of them.

* 2581, 10-11 Nycolus is of an age where he asks his mother for a working Wher. Tresrissa on the other hand, becomes jealous at her brother's new companion, and when she is helping her mother clean the cages, she falls in love with a newly hatched green Wher. She begs her mother to let her keep the ugly little thing, and Tavianna gives in to her daughter. Tressie bonds to Tressisk.

Her elder brother Nycolus gets married to a beautiful and lively holder's daughter, Caleah. The two instantly become friends and form a lasting connection. The birth of her first niece, brings the two women closer together, and Tressie oohed and aahed over the newborn, but not really connecting and wanting one of her own yet.

* 2583, 12-15 In one of her expeditions throughout the Hold, Tresrissa met a boy, only a few turns older than her. She decides now that she's of age, that perhaps she should get to know him better, in order to introduce him to her parents, and potentially be the good holder wife that her mother is. They arrange to meet early in the morning, when the sun is too bright for her Tressisk to follow her and discourage her from going to meet him. Their secret rendezvous didn't exactly go as planned when she was led through the back door of a whore house.  Luckily, Tresrissa managed to talk her way out of the situation, and slipped through the hands of the thugs waiting at the front entrance. When she returned home flustered, she explained to her parents the situation. She returned to the abandoned house, where she new the boy had been living, with Tressisk the next day, to teach him a thing or two about taking advantage of women, but he wasn't there. She never spotted him in the hold again.

With the birth of more nieces, Tresrissa has to grow up a little bit as their family gets bigger with so many babies in the house. She asks her parents to give her the opportunity to find a man good enough for her family, and not have them do this all for her (the one thing she wants to do on her own), but over the years she discovers she doesn't have very good taste, being easily swayed by a pretty face or sweet words, and realising just before introducing them to her parents that they would not fit in well with her family, and quickly dropping them.

* 2587, 16-18
The move to Southern Winds and the end of the 9th Pass
Once again oblivious to the suffering of those around her, Tressie doesn't really understand the significance of their move to a completely new location. All it is to her is a welcome adventure, and a bright and green new location. However, after being delegated by the Weyr to do drudge-like chores, she starts to resent the Weyr lifestyle and the change in circumstance that her family has been subjected to. Tresrissa begins to dedicate herself to being more helpful to her parents and her mother's business.

Her younger brother Nealros gets married and gets a Wher. Honestly, Tresrissa finds Ellariel way too boring for her liking, but the woman is now family, so she accepts her wholeheartedly, even if they don't become the best of friends. Over time, she realises that with both her brothers marrying and having children of their own, it is time for her too to grow up and get married herself. Tressie decides, in late 2589, that her parents can be given free-reign to find a man of their choosing for her.

* 2590, 19 Caleah and Calesk are killed by Hunters at the minehall attack. It devastated Tresrissa and is the first encounter with death which has made her truly understand, that death means gone forever, not just gone from here, but vanished and no longer existing in the world, with no potential to come back.

“Don’t worry Tressisk.” Tresrissa said as she guided her Wher into the cage that had been supplied to her for the trip between to their new location. “We’ll be to our new home sooner than you know it. Even if I did have to leave so much stuff behind.” The young woman shot a glare at the dragonrider waiting to take her to Fort Island, as if it was him personally who had decided that her things weren’t important enough to come with them.

She said a goodbye in her mind to Fort Hold, and started at the cold of between. It was a day of firsts. First talking to a dragonrider, first touching a dragon, first going between, first day of Fort Island.

It was the green that shocked her, almost burned her eyes with the brightness of it, and she couldn’t help but grin. It was beautiful. And was going to be much more interesting than Fort Hold had ever been. However, she composed herself when she made it to the ground, knowing that her family was anxious for this move, leaving behind their butchery and everything.

So she was determined to be helpful.

Clipping on Tressisk’s leash, and making sure the green’s blindfold was secure, she followed after Nealros into the tunnels, knowing that Nyc would be coming in behind her.

Tressie kept an eye out for a suitable space for them as they walked deeper into the depths of the mountain. She wasn't going to find a space with a window, so she crossed that off her mental list, a place convenient to the underground lake would be nice, she had heard the dragonriders talking about it, and definitely big enough to house all of them. Tavisk needed room for her Whers, her mother needed room for a shop, and she wasn't going to let them all be crowded if she could help it. They were a growing family now.

They needed their space to work.

Wher Details

Name:
Tressisk
Pronounced:
How you think
Date of Birth:
27.02.2581 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Hold. In her mothers butchery.
Wher Color:
Green
Egg Description:
Tressisk's egg had no folds, however was particularly wrinkly.
Measurements:
Mature Length: 2.5m
Mature Height: 0.8m

General Appearance...

Tressisk is one of the smallest Whers currently at Southern Winds, and is a pale green colour, which makes her seem somewhat more attractive than the rest of her ugly wrinkled hide suggests, perhaps even being considered an attractive Wher, because her colouring is so brilliant.

Not overly muscular, but not overly thin, Tressisk is perfectly average in terms of muscle definition.
As a hatchling, she was a little wrinkly green ball, which is what made Tresrissa fall in love with her.

Personality...

Empathetic: Tressisk is somewhat of an intelligent Wher, or at least, as intelligent as green whers can get. She is always a steady, supporting warmth in the back of Tresrissa's mind, and when she needs to pull Tresrissa back into line, she can project images of her family members, as if to remind her handler to think of what her family would say about what she is doing, but those are the only images she will project.

Likes:
Warmth - Tressisk has developed a like for the warmth of sun on her back, as she usually goes with Tressie blindfolded when she goes out to tan in the sunshine. What she doesn't like about the outings is that she has to be blindfolded for the most part. It leaves her feeling worried that she won't be able to protect Tresrissa effectively. She also likes to sleep with Tresrissa at night, both of them enjoying the body warmth that they can provide for one another.

Children - Much the same as many of the other Whers in Tresrissa's family, Tressisk enjoys being in the company of their many babies, and will be incredibly proud to take care of Tressie's when she eventually has children.

Fish - Tressisk is not usually picky about what she eats, however, she has enjoyed the change of diet to fish, compared to what she was being fed at Fort Hold.

Dislikes:
Being locked up - Her only goal in life is to protect Tresrissa from whatever and whoever may hurt her, if she is locked inside a cage, it would make it very difficult to quickly run to Tressie's side.

Other green whers - She thinks that she is way out of their league, living in such close proximity to higher ranked whers who are important and useful to the family business, has given her a superiority complex.

Strengths:

* LOYAL : Tressisk is surprisingly loyal to all members of Tressie's family, person and Wher alike. Even if those Whers don't like her back, she would fight for them if need be. Regardless of the fact that every single one of them is bigger and stronger than she is.

* INTELLIGENT : Surprisingly for a Green Wher, Tressisk has a pretty good ability to think ahead to any possible trouble that Tresrissa may get into, and try to prevent it. Either by trying to communicate the danger to any of Tressie's family members, or somehow guilt Tresrissa into not doing whatever potentially dangerous thing she is considering.

Weaknesses:

* PROTECTIVE : Tressisk's biggest weakness is her handler Tresrissa, if her handler were to get in any trouble, Tressisk would give her life without hesitation.

* PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES : In terms of muscularity, speed and endurance, Tressisk is perfectly average, but would never be able to survive as a fighting Wher, or even be able to truly protect Tressie if they were determined. She would try to scare them, and would definitely go in to attack, but the most likely scenario of a legitimate fight would most likely end in Tressisk's death.

Beastcrafter Elrost
« Reply #13 on: February 24, 2017, 02:09:39 AM »
Spoiler for Elrost Beastcrafter:

Play By:
CHARLIE HUNNAM
Biography

First Name:
Elrost
Nicknames:
El
Date of Birth:
09.10.2555 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
High Reaches Weyr
Spouse:
If there is one.

Your Reflection...

Appearance:
Elrost is usually smudged with a layer of dirt or mud, or slightly covered in a layer of dust from the hay that he carts around all day. It is because of this that he doesn't have clothes that he really cares about. His shirts develop holes reasonably quickly, and every night he spends time stitching them back together, but pretty much every single item of clothing he owns has a hand-stitched up hole on it somewhere. Some of his favourite shirts more than others.

He can typically be seen wearing simple brown pants and a wide-brown belt with pouches attached to it, containing snacks for the herdbeasts and other equipment he may need in his tending.

His work is hands on and almost constant, and it shows in his physique, with his highly muscled biceps, wide shoulders and thick thighs. It's not that he's vain and spends time on maintaining this appearance, it just happens naturally.

Elrost walks with a slight limp, a throw back to a panicked herd and a broken leg healed wrong. It doesn't effect his work much, he feels a little bit of pain in the bone with approaching high pressure systems, however the break has made his left leg a little bit shorter than the right, simply making him look a little awkward.

A scar sits on his left cheek, remnants of a wayward kick in the face from a rowdy bull, paired with a slight crook in his nose when it healed a little off-centre after the same event. Paired with his longish hair, and a scruffy amount of facial hair, he looks a little ragged occasionally, but really, he just has worked hard for a long time and it shows. He tries to keep his facial hair trimmed, and his hair out of the way with a leather thong, he is also seen commonly with his hair slicked back from sweat or from a quick dunk in the water barrel to cool himself down.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: Elrost grew up in the catastrophe, the constant threadfall was something that he was born into a knew nothing else. So while he was distraught, watching species after species being eaten to the point of extinction, Elrost has had to almost push all of that to the back of his mind, to avoid being crushed by the weight of everything that has happened, and everything that he has to do to continue on the beastcraft until it's possible to fully rebuild again.

He doesn't feel like he can blame the dragonriders for what happened. Elrost feels like he's too young to fully understand the situation that led to their decision and he doesn't want to make a judgment upon what has happened in the past, when he can simply think about the current and the future.

Response to dragon color mutations: Elrost doesn't like the fact that there is someone so young in the Weyrleadership. He respects the dragonriders and what they have done to protect Pern, but he doesn't feel like S'bok has paid his dues. In terms of the mutations, he's concerned, he's wondering whether the mutations have been brought about by environmental factors or by a simple freak genetic mutation. Either way, he's not excited about the outcome.

Who are you...

Likes:
Herdbeasts - They're quiet, sensitive and responsive. And weirdly enough Elrost feels like they can understand him. He knows that the connection he has with them is not the same as the telepathy of dragons, whers or firelizards, but he appreciates them just the same.
Baths - He has nothing against being dirty for the majority of the day, it comes with the territory and he has gotten used to it by now. But he loves, at the end of the day, to be able to clean off all the dirt and grime, it helps to clear his mind.
Family - Elrost likes loving and being loved, as much as the responsibility of it all worries him, he can't bring himself to back away from his family.

Dislikes:
Sweets - Luckily for Elrost, the shortage of Weyr supplies means that he doesn't have to explain his dislike of sweets. However, when he was younger he was constantly having to explain to people why he didn't want to eat sweets, which is simply because he doesn't like it.
Untidy sleeping quarters - he's messy all day working in the stables, he really doesn't want to come back into the Weyr to a messy space, the cleanliness helps to keep his head clear and so he mostly keeps his room clear of personal belongings, they can only be put in the wrong place and look messy.
Loss of control - Elrost had tried to not let this fear overcome him. Throughout most of his life, control has slowly been taken away from him, first in the form of his mentor father, then the beastcraft hall, and now when he has to raise herdbeasts in the constant fear that one cow that can't properly drop a calf could mean the end of the population.
Over-indulgence - Part because of his lifestyle and part because of personal choice, Elrost doesn't like to indulge himself, he doesn't drink, he doesn't overeat and he doesn't spend large hours of the day "having fun."

Strengths:

* PHYSICALITY : Being one of the few Beastcrafter Journeymen that are still around to look after the herds, a lot of the heavy lifting lands to him. Not only does Elrost have to be able to throw haybales around, but he also has to be able to drag newborns and herdbeast to their feet if they are resisting.

* COURAGEOUS : Elrost would throw himself in front of a stampeding herdbeast to a) protect a child from being trampled or b) prevent the herdbeast from injuring themselves.

* CARING : Whilst Elrost doesn't always want to share this trait in public, Elrost genuinely cares about people and his animals. He would throw himself in front of a stampede to protect someone, and would make a fool of himself to make someone feel better. He's very self-sacrificing because he cares so much.

* SURE/CERTAIN : He's very happy with his lot in life, and sure that he is doing what he needs to be doing to keep the herdbeast population sustainable. Additionally, growing up amongst both crafters and holders and dragonriders, with the refugee crisis, Elrost is happy with the way Southern Winds has progressed.

* DEDICATED : His world, without a partner or children, revolves around his craft, and he can spend day and night working without feeling weary, bored, or unhappy with his lot in life.

Weaknesses:

* LOVE : Elrost would do anything for love and that scares him. He's put his career on hold because he's been so consumed with someone before so it's hard for him to fall in love again. However, it's something that he craves, and once he finds the perfect person he would do whatever it takes to keep them around.

* TEARS : If a child cries, or a woman cries, he'll just... do whatever he has to to make them stop. ALSO if something upsets him, he will just retreat to the stables to cry for a little bit, away from anyone's eyes, and he'll never use them to get what he wants.

* CHILDREN : Elrost loves children, but he's happy enough to be involved in other people's children's lives. He's a big softy and will spoil children way too much, he's that uncle whose more than happy to let children climb all over him. They're also his weakness because babies are so small and cute, and he loves them, but he's afraid that he's going to... crush them.

* ANIMALS : Herdbeast. They have occupied every waking moment of his life for over a decade, and he just... loves them. They're his kryptonite, and having to send some of his prized cows into the feeding pen once they are past their prime has been horrible for him. He also has a special place in his heart for all the draconic creatures on Pern. He loves whers and firelizards and whilst he doesn't have much contact with dragons, he is in awe of them.

* SELF-CONSCIOUS: About his size, he feels like he could crush little babies and so is very careful about being gentle. Feels like a bull in a china shop. About his overbearingness. About being in a relationship. About falling so quickly in love. But whilst he feels all these things, once he gives in, and once he realises that he is courting someone, he will fall head over heels and not be able to turn back.

* CLUMSY: Elrost has never been good in really tight, enclosed spaces, with heaps of people around. It makes him uncomfortable feeling so lost in such large crowds and his awkwardness makes him clumsy. He hates having to go visit the Weaver's because they're all so bustling and busy and he will always bump into them when they're doing delicate needlework.

Describe Yourself:

* ROMANTIC: ----- Elrost is a big softy and enjoys wining and dining and surprising with flowers and gifts and the like. The looks on their faces when he does it just makes him feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

* RESERVED : ----- In front of large groups or strangers, Elrost likes to be reserved. He doesn't want to be expressing his emotions to people his doesn't know, about anything. Excitement, happiness, love, anger. The more he shows his emotions to strangers the more hold they could have over him. However, he would make a fool out of himself for love and frequently has.

* FIRM: ----- Elrost tries not to be too overbearing, but he will put his foot down when he believes that something is dangerous. He knows of the dangers of Pern, and growing up in the catastrophe has made him a bit of a worry-wart. Once he makes up his mind, he will endeavour to not change it (except for on the matter of love.)

* SENSITIVE: ----- Elrost will definitely take words and actions to heart. If somebody slights him, or isn't paying attention to him, he'll take that as them not liking him, and will endeavour to move on from them as friends.

* SERIOUS: ----- He knows how important his job is, he feels like he can't take any day off or relax because it could cost the beastcraft and the herdbeasts in particular, everything.

* TWO-FACED: ----- Around strangers, and people he doesn't know well, Elrost is distant, he won't reveal much and will keep very official and tight-lipped. It is only around his extended family that he will reveal his more emotional traits. To this extent, Elrost will always feel like he is making a fool of himself by expressing himself too openly in front of others, but he is a sucker for love, and will always take making a fool over not showing enough to someone he loves.

The Magic Touch:
Pansexual but he doesn't really think about it that why. He just likes the people that he likes because of the combination of all of the things about them.
Has a slight limp because of a badly healed left thigh bone fracture.
Elrost doesn't just like his craft, he loves his craft and lives and breathes it every moment of the day.

Personal History & Education

Mother:  Alaena, wife, 2531. d. 2561
Father: Brecho, Master Herder, 2527. d. 2570

Siblings:
Keassa, Journeyman Herder, 2546
Ruvor, 2548, d. 2565
Malkol, 2551

As he got older, he and Keassa formed their close sibling relationship that they have now, but when they were younger, she was too involved in her craft and he sometimes felt more like a child than a sibling to her. But as they got older and more vital to their craft they were able to see each other more as siblings and adults.

Children:
Unknown child, 2569 (born to Allira, Elrost doesn't know is his).
Eriya, 2582, d. 2585.

Nieces/Nephews:
Vorianna, 2560
Sebek, 2562
Tinus, 2565
Tircin, 2570

Even though he's not that much older than his sister's children. He really does spoil them. Especially Tinus and Tircin because they were young enough that he was able to feel like "an adult" compared to them. After all, he's only 5 turns older than Vorianna, not that he lets that get to him.

Craft: Beastcrafter

Rank: Snr. Journeyman

Date Apprenticed: 2567/12

Date Tapped: 2578/23

Specialty: Herdbeasts: Birthing, husbandry.

Education Details: Elrost has had a few hiccups in his studies along the way. He was apprenticed into the craft under the watchful gaze of his master herder father, before his father's death in blank. However, that simply made him buckle down to work harder because he realised how hard it was becoming for all of them to maintain their herds.

In his late teens, Elrost became preoccupied by love, and was overlooked for Journeymanship for a few years, however, once he recovered from the loss of his lover, he stuck back into work and cleared his head, trying to separate love from his work, although he mostly just through love out the window to never make him forget about the craft ever again. After that point it was pretty straight forward, he became one of the few who specialised in herdbeasts and was the first crafter that was on site at the birth of a new calf. His gentle hands calming the cows that he raised throughout the ordeal of birth, and knowing just the right steps to ease the process along.

Now, at Southern Winds, he is the main tender for the herdbeasts. He only has one or two apprentices under his wing, and no Masters above him, as they have no official hall leadership. This doesn't bother him however, Elrost knows what he needs to do for the herdbeast, and will do whatever it takes. This dedication had evolved into spending most of his nights in the pens with labouring cows and easing the minds of the beasts which he has to move into the feeding pens for the dragons, whereas his days are spent, feeding, milking and tending to the herds.

Tell us a story...

* 2555, 0 Born at High Reaches Weyr to Alaena and Brecho.

* 2561, 6 Alaena develops a sickness, which went unnoticed by most of the family until it was too late. She never liked to complain, didn't want to talk about herself when the rest of her family had long and hard days ahead of them. Always a constant supporter, Alaena refused to acknowledge her sickness and distract her family from their duty. She passed away in the dead of night, her lungs filling up with fluid. Elrost was old enough to feel the effect of this, his family was largely occupied with their various crafts, and he had to grow up quickly to start taking care of himself. Being the youngest in his family, the death of his mother hit him hard, because he was so close to her. He vowed, if he ever had a family, to be as dedicated to them as his mother was to hers.

* 2565, 10 His older brother, Ruvor, apprenticed to the Mine Hall for only a turn, dies in a mine shaft collapse. He had been the only of the three children to not show an interest in the family beastcrafter tradition. Whilst it affected Elrost, he hadn't been very close with Ruvor, not feeling like they had much in common. None the less, he gains an appreciation for the whers that risked their lives to try and pull his brother from the wrecked shaft before it was too late. Whilst they ultimately didn't succeed, he thinks that their unwavering loyalty is beautiful.

* 2567, 12 "Apprenticed" to beastcraft hall, they don't have a permanent location, with the fall of so many places, but Elrost latches onto his father and learns as much as he can. Luckily for their Elrost and his sister Keassa, Brecho is one of the few beastcraft masters alive and kicking, and he is at their disposal pretty much 24/7. This is the year Keassa is tapped.

* 2569, 14 Begins his foray into exploring sexuality with his first partner, a woman named Allira. He thought he liked her, however, she saw him as no more than a fling, and was more than happy to move on quickly when someone less involved in their craft showed an interest in her. Allira told him that it was his over-excitement in his craft that made her not like him, and he starts to become more reserved in showing his feelings to the majority of people. But he doesn't feel like her company is a real loss, and is happy enough to see her happy, even if it is with someone else. Not long after she leaves him, Allira is pregnant, it never crosses his mind that the child could be his, and Allira never told him otherwise.

* 2570, 15 The family moves from High Reaches Weyr to Fort Weyr, however, in the move, their father, Brecho, gets caught out in threadfall whilst trying to pen a herd. He dies of his injuries, the dragonriders unable to save him, and Elrost really sees the impact that the catastrophe is having on the beastcraft. Obviously, the beastcraft had officially fallen before he was even born, however, without his master beastcrafter father in the craft, he starts to feel the strain on the beastcraft and on his own personal duties.  He decides to buckle down to his studies, pushing the sadness of his fathers death to the back of his mind, and deciding to try to live up to his father's expectations of him.

* 2573, 18 Meets fellow crafter, Tolris, they hit it off. Tolris is Elrost's first experience with a man, and he realises that he isn't opposed to any gender just as long has he has a connection with them. They fall hard and fast for each other and Elrost dedicates large amounts of time to following the older, more reckless Tolris around.

* 2574, 19 He's so caught up in the whirlwind of his relationship with Tolris, that he slacks off in his studies and his supervisors don't believe that he is putting enough effort into his studies to warrant being tapped. Elrost is disappointed, however, he is too preoccupied to really worry about it, Tolris doesn't care whether he is an apprentice or a journeyman, Tolris himself not having been tapped, and so doesn't encourage Elrost to start paying attention to his craft again.

* 2576, 21 Tolris gets trampled. And Elrost is crushed. He realises in the aftermath, the effect that love can have on him, and he is more wary as the years go on. He almost sacrificed everything that he loved, just for the chance to be loved by Tolris. The memory of Tolris is a fond one, but a reminder of the important things in life, his craft and his family.

* 2578, 23 After a few turns of hardcore study and late nights of dedication, proving himself to the Masters and the Journeymen, Elrost is finally tapped to Journeyman, the crafthall continues to shrink, and Elrost discovers a love for passing down the knowledge he has learnt to the young apprentices.

* 2580, 25 With dragonriders, holders and crafters in such close proximity, the tension is taking it's toll on many of the animals. A Weyrling pops between one day, too close to the herd, and causes a stampede. Elrost puts himself in front of a newborn calf to protect it from being trampled. He gets charged by a bull, and snaps his leg in two. The occasion briefly reminds him of the day Tolris died, but he puts that from his mind. His leg didn't heal straight, and his left leg is now a little shorter than his right, whilst the bone itself doesn't permanently hurt, nor affect his work too much, he has a permanent limp, occasional back and hip pain, and bone pain with low pressure systems.

* 2581, 26 After his accident, Elrost looks into getting a wher to help with his work. The herdbeasts need protecting, with the holders getting more and more desperate, he thinks, with the help of a working wher, he can protect the vital parts of the herd, with an extra back to help move the larger hay wheels. Approaching a wher handler, he trades with whatever he can, picking the largest egg in the clutch, and ends up with his tiny green Ellsk. Ellsk is definitely not the protective working wher that Elrost had been hoping for, but he loves her none the less, and is appreciative of her empathy towards the herdbeasts.

* 2582, 27 Birth of his first child, Eriya, after a one night stand, throws him off a little bit. He loves the child with all his heart, but has no connection with the child's mother, Tanoriya. Regardless, he is traditional, and decides to move the child's mother into his home to support both of them. Elrost loves having a little family to call his own, even if it's not exactly what he had imagined.

Tanoriya, has a Gold firelizard who clutches, however, they couldn't distribute all the eggs, and end up with a large egg to one of them to impress. Already having 3 firelizards of her own, Tanoriya offers for Elrost to bond with the soon to catch firelizard. He takes the opportunity, knowing the helpfulness of firelizard companions, and bond with Harrier. She is big, and a little misshapen, not the pretty Gold around, but she is fierce, protective and strong, and shows an interest in being the helping hand in fieldwork that Elrost always wanted from Ellsk. Her large size is an advantage in the case, being similar to Ellsk's size, and will not hesitate to approach any task with gusto.

* 2585, 30 Tanoriya gets an infection, the large amounts of refugees crammed into Fort making the transmission of infections all the easier. She passes it onto Eriya and the toddlers immune system can't handle the stress. Eriya passes away and Tanoriya follows a few days after. Elrost is destroyed, he loved Eriya more than he valued his own life, and tried the best he could to get the medicine that they needed. But no matter what he did. It wasn't good enough. He spends a few sevendays moping around, neglecting himself, not knowing what to live for, but Harrier and Ellsk pull him out of it, working hard to get him back to working, and everyday encouraging him to keep going. Whilst they are a dysfunctional trio, it is this turn that Elrost realises that without those two, he wouldn't be able to keep going. And so, they turn him around, and he gets back to work, the herdbeast population is steady, if small, but he knows that he can keep them going.

* 2587, 32 The move to Fort Island is a major undertaking, and Elrost spends a good part of the turn making sure that the herdbeast are fit and healthy enough to be transported in their slings across to the island. A good part of his time is spent acclimating the herdbeasts to dragons, it's in their nature to be afraid, but he was informed that there wouldn't be a lot of room on the island for the herdbeasts to have their own space. He starts off slow, with his more docile cows, introducing them to a dragon, before bringing them slowly closer and closer. Ellsk and Harrier are incredibly helpful in this process, helping to calm the herdbeasts with familiar company. It's a long time coming, but Elrost has seen too many accidents due to dragon-induced stampedes.

* 2588, 33 There aren't many other beastcrafters at Southern Winds, however, the Journeymen that are left come together to vote upon promoting Elrost to Senior Journeyman. It is nothing more than a formality, with Elrost being the most experienced herdbeast specialist on the island anyways, and so his duties as Junior Journeyman and Senior Journeymen would be the same regardless. But it's nice to know that his peers think highly of him.

* 2590, 35 Current day, working on maintaining the current herd population.

Elrost pulled back from the cow, up to his shoulders in embryonic fluid and blood, she was breathing heavily, collapsed onto her side and recovering from the ordeal, but still with enough energy to lift her head up and lick her calf clean. They were going to be fine.

He observed the chest of the beasts rising and falling for a moment, before he stood to walk over to the bucket of water, and started to rinse the blood off his arms.

They were in the middle of the herdbeasts pen, the labour having come along too quickly for Elrost to entice the cow into the stables, but she should be fine out here. The other beasts would only be mildly curious about the new calf, and would leave them alone for the moment. It was rare that any bull would bother to approach to claim his territory.

After that, everything happened so quickly.

There was a woosh of air above him, and suddenly the pounding of hooves was all that he could hear. A dragon was above him, wings flapping hard to pull them back up into the air, way too close to the ground. And the herd.

Led by a frightened bull, they were charging towards Elrost, a random direction that had picked once startled by the dragons sudden appearance, it was simply their nature to run from their enemies. Looking back towards the mother and calf, he watched as they struggled to stand, spindly legs and aching joints collapsing underneath them. They were too weak to run. To move out of the way of the stampeding herd.

Elrost couldn't afford to lose this calf, the offspring of his prized cow, always producing strong younglings. If he lost these two, he wouldn't have enough new blood for the next season, the herd was too small, they needed all the calves and mothers they could get.

So there was only one thing to do, place himself in between the stampede and the calf. Perhaps they would shy away from his larger size, notice an obstacle and swerve away from him. But he had seen enough stampedes to know that they didn't think like that whilst they were taken over by fear.

It didn't help that the dragon was still floating there. Observing the situation, having gotten control over his beast. Elrost went to shout at him, wave his arms at the rider to get them to pop between again, but it was too late, the herd was upon them.

They seemed to swerve for a little bit, the scared noises of the beasts on the ground behind him steeling his nerves and encouraging him to stay where he was. They needed protection.

His arm was caught by a horn, and he was thrown to the ground. Elrost tried to pull his body back across the calf, hoping that at least he could do that. Even if he perished, the calf might survive and the herd could continue.

Crunch.

A hoof came down upon his leg, snapping it in two, and he screamed, before clenching his teeth against the pain, and trying to pull himself back towards the calf, his fingers and nails digging into the hard dirt and coming away with tufts of grass.

Thud.

A powerful thigh collided with the side of his head, and it all went black.

Mature Length: 2.4m
Mature Height: 0.8m

General Appearance...

Ellsk started off as the runt of her litter and hasn't really grown much have since then. She sits at the low end of the green sizings. However, whilst she is small she does have the muscularity traditional in whers, making her a helpful worker when she chooses to do so. Ellsk has a dark mottled hide which is usually exacerbated by the dirt and mud which seems to be continuously covering her.

Personality...

Empathetic: Ellie communicates with emotions more than anything else. She doesn't speak anything out loud, nor does she transmit images often. If an image is necessary, she will make the effort, however, most often, Harrier can pick the image out of her mind and tell Elrost herself. She has a close mental connection with Harrier sometimes even more so than Elrost.

Likes:
- Being messy
- Cuddles
- Digging
- Dragons
- Herdbeasts

Dislikes:
- Having to do too much work
- Having to do one thing for a long period of time
- Getting nagged by Harrier

Strengths:

* Empathetic : Ellie can sense when a herdbeast is uncomfortable, and has a way of calming her own mind in order to not intimidate them.

* Tracking : She has a very good nose, and if a herdbeast wanders too far from the herd, Ellsk can track them down.

Weaknesses:

* Intelligence : Ellsk isn't the smartest wher around. She can take orders, but she'd never be able to give them, nor think for herself too well.

* Attention Span : She doesn't like having to do the same thing for too long, Elrost has become pretty good at giving her tasks which will only take a short amount of time, and then allowing her free-reign, before asking her to come back to work again.

Z'ryr of Brown Rhymoth
« Reply #14 on: March 16, 2017, 01:36:59 AM »
Spoiler for Z'ryr Brownrider:

Play By:
SCOTT EASTWOOD
Biography

Name:
Zepheneryr
Honorific:
Z'ryr
Pronounced:
(Zeh-Rear, Zeh-fen-uh-rear)
Nicknames:
Zeph - Ze
Date of Birth:
21.09.2559 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Miner Crafthall
Dragon Color:
Brown
Impression Age:
2572/13
Wing Rank:
Wingrider Prairie
Weyrmate:
Nope.

Your Reflection...

Appearance: Z'ryr is unbothered by his appearance, he likes to look good, however, he won't spend extended periods of time on making sure he looks good. He slip out of bed, give himself a quick once over, and adjust anything that needs to be adjusted, there's not much more than that.

His riding leathers are perhaps his favourite article of clothing, and even when the drills don't require the wearing of them, he would probably throw them on anyways, and purposely choose to not change out of them when most other's would before dinner.

Neither lean, nor too bulky, Z'ryr is of perfectly average athletic musculature, with slightly wide shoulders accentuated by thicker than normal biceps, however, he doesn't work too hard to make sure they stay that way, the muscles simply take to exercise more than the rest.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: Z'ryr doesn't like to dwell on the pass, he has acknowledged the cause and effect of the catastrophe and has logged it away to learn from the decisions made. But he finds no need to judge dragonriders on their decision, and tries to avoid judging the Holder's of their subsequent handling of the situation.

Response to dragon color mutations: Unphased by the new mutations, Z'ryr simply thinks that it's a reflection of their upheaval and move, after all, Neisoth was good enough to win Kalestath over Leremith, so there must be something good about them.

Who are you...

Likes:
Late nights - Z'ryr is a bit of a night owl, he doesn't need a lot of sleep to function so can still get up early in the morning and make the most of the day, but can enjoy the quietness of the night.
Firelizards - He likes having the little critters around him, there's so much variety in them and their usefulness.
Sex - Exercise and fun all rolled into one, it's thrilling for him, and he likes how it can be different every single time. Whenever sex got boring with someone, he knows it's time to move on from them.
Weyr life - Everything about Weyr life works for Z'ryr, he enjoys not being judged by others and not having to judge others either.

Dislikes:
Women - Whilst Z'ryr can appreciate the look of the female body, he has never, and will never feel sexual attraction towards a female.
Sleeping alone - Even though he won't complain if he is asked to leave someone's Weyr, Z'ryr will always prefer to share his bed with someone, it helps that his fair of firelizards have decided that they like to sleep in his bed at night as well.
Hurting someone - Z'ryr's calm nature makes it so that he usually doesn't upset people, and honestly, he hates it when/if he does, if rarely.
Open Ocean - Whilst Z'ryr's family did try to teach him to swim while he was living at Tillek, however, he didn't enjoy the experience. He doesn't like waves, or the possibility of getting swept out in a rip, and so, even though he has a dragon who could pluck him from the water if anything went wrong, he doesn't choose the open ocean, much preferring the underground lake.

Strengths:

* RELAXED : Z'ryr doesn't like to stress over the little things, if something goes wrong in his day, he'll simply find a way to fix it, or move on in his life. He feels like there are bigger fish in the sea to worry about, and so he saves up his potential anxiety for the more important moments in life.

* CALM/UNSHAKEABLE : Not one to care about drama, Z'ryr in unaffected by shouting, yelling or little fits of anger. He's more than happy to leave and let someone cool off, and would not be offended if he was asked to leave so someone could do so, but he's equally happy to stay and let whomever continue whatever aggression outlet they wish. He's a listener, so whether someone needs a shoulder to cry on, or some rock solid to scream at, Z'ryr is can fill both roles.

* CONFIDENT : He's very happy with his lot in life, he likes his wing, and he's sure of his place within the Weyr and the hierarchy. Whilst he's never been particularly interested in leadership, he wouldn't be horrible at it, because he is a genuinely caring person. But, because he believes that the Weyrleadership are making the right decisions, he doesn't feel overly conflicted about their current political climate.

* OBSERVANT : Z'ryr likes to understand what people are feeling, and whilst he usually likes to simply talk about a situation, he is more than capable of understanding nuances and body language and figuring it out himself. He believes it would be easier if people just told him what was wrong, but knows that is not usually a realistic request.

* PATIENT : Being in Prairie has been nice for him, he likes to help and be helpful, and working with struggling riders has been easy for him because he's patient enough to wait for their training to show results. Additionally, he has never once given up on someone because they got frustrated at their lack of progess, his own Weyrlinghood was long and a struggle, so he knows that in the end, hard work will lead to results, it may just take a little longer than it does for others.

Weaknesses:

* EASY : Z'ryr has always been a bit of an easy lay, but he doesn't really feel like there's anything wrong with that. He does have standards, and he won't sleep with anyone that he really doesn't want to, but he likes giving people second chances and having new experiences.

* AIMLESS : Goals in life are not something that Z'ryr bothers with, he only had one goal, which was to be a dragonrider, and now, his only goal is to be happy. He doesn't want a leadership position, and he doesn't particularly care whether he's the best of the best, yes he likes to be good, and yes he enjoys the thrill that comes from working hard, but he never wants to compare himself to the success of another person.

* FORGIVING : Z'ryr likes to give people second chances, he believes that people can change, whilst he does have a limit, he has made the mistake a few times of giving people more chances than they deserve, because he truly believe that people can change if they want to work hard for it.

* HONEST : He likes to be truthful about what he feels and what he thinks, whilst he isn't the kind of honest that will reveal other's secrets, some may think of him as a bit of an oversharer and that could definitely make them uncomfortable.

* SUPERFICIAL : He likes attractive guys, and while he wouldn't say no immediately to someone he doesn't necessarily find incredibly eye-catching, if he didn't enjoy his time with them, or didn't feel a spark, he wouldn't personally go seek them out again, and he may be more inclined to deny the offer if he had a better option.

Describe Yourself:

* SWITCH: ----- He's happy to be both top and bottom, with different people at different times, Z'ryr is more than happy to go with the flow and give his partner what they want.

* INDEPENDENT: ----- Z'ryr likes having people around him, and he likes being able to do things, but he doesn't need them, he's more than happy to strike out on his own, or spend time with his firelizards. Whilst he enjoys having an occupied mind, he doesn't have to be like that all hours of the day.

* STRONG: ----- Even though Z'ryr is a calm person, it doesn't mean that he is a doormat. He likes to find solutions for problems, but he won't accept outright stupidity. He'll stand his ground with what he believes in, but won't be so stubborn as to refuse to let himself be convinced if a good argument is put forth.

* SOCIAL: ----- Z'ryr enjoys socialising, and not just for sex, he likes to talk and get to know the others in the Weyr. Whilst he doesn't like the overall idea of the Holders, he would even want to get to know a Holder if they weren't completely against everything he stood for. He doesn't like to be judged and so chooses just to ignore those sorts of people, and it isn't spiteful it is simply removing himself from their judgement and potential stress.

* ACCEPTING: ----- Lots of people have quirks, they have something they want to forget or they have something that they want to remember, either way, Z'ryr is typically pretty accepting of those lifestyles choices that differ from his, as long as they can be respectful about his own.

The Magic Touch:
- Gay and doesn't care who knows it
- Threadscored left hand - whole back of his palm is marred by an ugly scar

Tell us a story...

* 2559, 0 Born to his holder mother and a wayward dragonrider after a one night stand in the Minecraft hall. His mother, having been married to a miner at the time, raised Zepheneryr as if he was the son of her current husband, luckily, her husband didn't notice the lack of his name within his new son's name. It became a pattern for Maleneryr, sleep with a different man, bear his child, and combine her name with their's not her husband. Luckily for her, her miner husband was too much in love with her to ever realise.

* 2561, 2 Miner Crafthall fell, Z'ryr was was too young to really understand what was going on, all he remember was stories from his family of their journey to Tillek, and their retelling of his first time on dragonback. Apparently, he had been a very excited toddler. After their move, and ended up staying in close contact with his mother's extended family at Tillek, a family of fisher crafters and Z'ryr enjoyed growing up around a larger family.

* 2565, 6 The birth of his younger sister, Melanon, Z'ryr really took to the girl, and was happy to have a younger sibling that he could look after. Even at 6 turns, he was very laidback, but a protectiveness came over him when it came to his sister. He enjoyed having someone who loved him just because they were related, it was an easy and simple love to return.

* 2571, 12 At 12, Z'ryr was searched and taken to Fort Weyr. The youngster was very excited, after spending so much time around the fisher craft, he had developed his dislike for the wide open water, and knew that he wanted exactly the opposite. All he wanted to do was fly on dragonback flaming thread out of the sky. And so, he spent most of his first turn trying to talk to as many riders as he could whenever they stopped off at Tillek for supplies or a break. His persistence paid off and when he was searched, only a few days before the hatching, his prepared rucksack of clothes was a useful addition. Before he left, his mother gave him a firelizard egg to take with him, he hatched a sevenday later into his blue, Larrikin.

* 2572, 13 After standing for a turn, and really enjoying the Weyr lifestyle, Z'ryr impressed. A handsome dark brown, broke out of his shell, the third of his clutch, and walked straight towards him. There was none of the looking around and deciding who to pick, and wandering around aimlessly. The brown took a beeline straight towards him, planted his behind on the sands at his feet and introduced himself as Rhymoth. Z'ryr has never looked back. Whilst he loved him family, the Weyr life has been everything he has ever needed. A place of acceptance for his sexual partner preferences, and a place where he can contribute, but doesn't have to be perfect all the time. Z'ryr maintains that the day he impressed Rhymoth was the best day of his life.

* 2574, 15 Weyrlinghood was tough for Z'ryr and Rhymoth, his brown was a slow grower, and stayed gangly for most of his Weyrlinghood, and it was a little disheartening to feel like there was nothing they could go but wait. They did the exercises they were told, and still Rhymoth would not grow. He was clunky and awkward, and always fouling his wings and injuring himself. But they worked and they waited, and worked and waited until finally, Rhymoth grew, whilst he didn't pack on muscle around his wings, his shoulders and legs became stronger and stronger with everyday. He would never be the best dragon for agility, but he could still be a functioning member of a wing. This is when Z'ryr truly understood the significance of patience, and has remembered his two turns and still uses it as a lesson today.

* 2579, 20 After he graduated Weyrlinghood, Z'ryr uses his off time, not that there is a lot of it, to visit his mother and sister when he can. Whilst he mother misses him dearly, Z'ryr can't honestly say that he misses living with his family, he loves the Weyr. With everyone crammed into Fort Weyr and Hold, sicknesses spread quickly, and his mother, along with the help of some other dormant conditions, contracts an illness which runs rampant through her body. She dies later on that turn, however, on her deathbed, she informs him of his true parentage, a blue rider by the name of Z'phe, and tells him that his father doesn't know he exists. Her death crushes him, but the constant death around him makes him steel himself, he files that pain away in the back of his mind, and will draw upon it when he feels like he needs to stress about something. If he can make it through the pain of losing his mother, he can make it through anything.

After asking around the Weyr about a rider named Z'phe, he finds out that he passed away not long after he was born. Never having known the man, Z'ryr isn't particularly phased by the knowledge. He feels more bad for Z'phe, and the possibility that he never knew that he had a child, even if Z'ryr had no way of knowing whether or not Z'phe would have cared for that knowledge in the slightest.

* 2584, 25 Z'ryr gets his hand on another firelizard egg, wanting to expand his posse every few turns with a new addition. Luckily, the sheer number of firelizards contained in one Weyr made it very easy for him to get his hands on another, and it hatches into his bronze Boomer. Not the most intelligent of firelizards, Z'ryr secretly thinks that Boomer fell off a ledge and hit his head when he wasn't looking, but he loves him just the same.

* 2587, 28 The move the Southern Winds Weyr was a welcome change, Fort was getting entirely too crowded, and having to look out over the desolate landscape every day was a trial. The Hunters are an issue, one that Z'ryr decided was definitely going to keep him out of Jungle Wing, and the closeness of Beach Wing with the wide open ocean, kept him away from there. Not wanting to ever see the ugliness of the main continent again, Z'ryr decided on Prairie. He's proud of his wing, and as much as many others might not see the usefulness in the wing, or make jokes about them, he is unoffended, if they can't see the use, then that's their mistake, not his.

* 2590, 31 The Holder riot in the Weyr hall was a farce. Calling out slavery was stupid, and to Jungle Wing no less. The Weyr has never been slavers and never will be, he can see their frustration, but never in reference to slavery. But he doesn't mind the Mine Hall ferrying work, it allows Rhymoth to do what he is good at, and it means that Z'ryr gets to meet a few more people, even if most of them don't like him.

Niazyth. She rises. Quick and to the point, there was not much more Rhymoth needed to say to that, to get Z'ryr jumping to his feet and running out to his Weyr ledge, leaping up onto his brown's back. Rhymoth didn't need to wait for an assurance to take off, and was beating up into the air before Z'ryr could barely cling on to his back.

The flight lust started to pour through him, and he was quite glad that he had decided to bathe before dinner this night. He wanted to make an impression after all. Even though Rhymoth was the one doing the chasing, it couldn't be detrimental for Z'ryr himself to be in good knick.

Slipping of Rhymoth's back on Q's ledge, he couldn't help but grin when he saw that Q'nys was standing there in naught else but a bath towel and he almost wished that he was of the same mind. After all, it did make it a hell of a lot easier in the end. That is. If Rhymoth won. Which Z'ryr, looking up and down at Q's physique was very much for. Just his type.

The dark brown leapt off the ledge, blending into the night sky around him, only his lighter speckles glistening like stars. All these others are likening you to the sky. But you, my beauty, are beyond compare. You're the most beautiful of your own accord.

Name:
Rhymoth
Pronounced:
(Rye(like rye bread)-moth)
Color:
Brown
Date of Birth:
02.02.2572 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Weyr
Clutch Mother:
Kiberith
Clutch Father:
Dekkath
Measurements:
Mature Length: 34m
Mature Height: 7m
Mature Wingspan: 58m

General Appearance...

Rhymoth was an awkwardly proportioned dragonet, and whilst, he isn't exactly beautiful now, he can at least function properly, instead of spending every moment tripping over his own feet. As a fully grown dragon, he has a lean torso, wide wings, and bulky arms and legs, not exactly the most beautifully proportioned dragon, but it gets the job done.

A dark, almost black-brown, with attractive lighter speckling on the outer parts of his extremities, makes him stand out from the crowd. As a hatchling, he was coloured a lot lighter, but over time, his colour has darkened, making his speckles stand out even more.

Personality...

Mind Voice: Rhymoth's voice is slow and slightly nasal-like, on the higher end of the voice spectrum.

Likes:
Greens - He would never rise above his station and consider flying a Gold, he's never had an interest in them. Greens don't have as much responsibility and are always responsive to his compliments.
Compliments - Rhymoth likes to make a green feel like she's pretty, not many of them need that assurance, but he enjoys the rewards anyways.
Rules - Whilst Z'ryr is very relaxed, Rhymoth very much like to adhear to the rules, he helps to keep Z'ryr from becoming lazy.
Standards - Rhymoth likes to meet standards, he was frustrated by not succeeding in his Weyrlinghood and so likes to meet the requirements to do well in Prairie Wing.

Dislikes:
The cold - He enjoys spending the night curled up with a green, much like Z'ryr, he would prefer not spending the night alone.
Rule breakers - Rhymoth very much likes to be a "good brown" and so he is offended when others don't want to follow rules.

Strengths:

* CARRYING HEAVY WEIGHTS : Rhymoth's thick limbs are incredibly good for carrying heavy weights for extended periods of time.

* DETERMINED : He wants to be useful for the weyr and follow rules, and so whilst Z'ryr can sometimes be more lax on trying hard, Rhymoth always tries to push him to work a little harder.

Weaknesses:

* AGILITY : He's too big to be agile, he's fast and strong, but he will never be able to make a turn as quick as some of the better proportioned browns.

* STEALTH : Rhymoth is still a little clumsy when he's walking around on the ground, there's not way he'd be able to complete a sneaky prank on anyone, because he'd probably trip over his own feet.

Name:
Larrikin
Pronounced:
La(like lack) - rih - kin
Color:
Blue
Date of Birth:
04.10.2571 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Weyr

General Appearance...

Larrikin is a pretty average sized blue, their isn't anything very special about his physique, however it is his colour which makes him stand out. He's a beautiful light blue with almost white speckles down his spine and darker navy blue speckles on his wingsails.

Personality...

Mind Voice: For a blue, Larrikin is actually quite intelligent, whilst he hasn't learn to parrot any particular word or phrase, he is very capable with image sharing and emotions.

Likes:
Fish - Larrikin enjoys diving in and out of the water of the cove scattering all the fish.
Playing - He simply likes to have a bit of fun, and he'll take any chance he can get, with fellow dragon-kinds or humans.
Cuddles - Spending the night curled up next to someone is his favourite thing, and any chance he gets during the day, he'll try to curl himself around Z'ryr's forearm.
Water - Splashing around is just fun.

Dislikes:
Being alone - When there's so many people around, there's no reason for him to be alone, so if Z'ryr is busy he will go find a fair of firelizards to play with
Rain - It's just horrible, because it makes the sea too big to play in and makes everyone sad.

Name:
Boomer
Pronounced:
As you'd think
Color:
Bronze
Date of Birth:
27.07.2584 9th Pass
Place of Birth:
Fort Weyr

General Appearance...

Boomer is a thick bronze, not having the lithe look of Larrikin but simply muscular and with shorter limbs than is expected for his long trunk. His colouring is a reddish-bronze, he would sometimes get confused for a brown if not for his sparkle in the sun and his large size.

Personality...

Mind Voice: Boomer does not communicate with pictures, nor has he ever said any words, however his emotional communication is quite accurate.

Likes:
Rocks - He enjoys collecting them and bringing them to Z'ryr, any shape, any size, he doesn't discriminate, just whatever catches his eye that day.
Sleeping - Day, night, morning, afternoon, unless Z'ryr has specifically asked him to do something, or they're heading somewhere, Boomer would prefer to be sleeping.

Dislikes:
Loud noises - Usually he's not paying much attention to his surroundings, so anything remotely loud will frighten him
Having to do complicated tasks - Anything beyond "Go over there" is a little difficult for Boomer, he can help Larrikin with a task, but being given a task with more than one instruction is destined to never be completed.

Peacekeeper Daresik
« Reply #15 on: April 14, 2017, 07:38:30 PM »
Spoiler for Daresik:

Play By:
VINNIE JONES
Biography

Name:
Daresik
Pronounced:
Da - reh - sick
Nicknames:
Dare (like daring), Sic (like sic 'em)
Date of Birth:
34.03.2550 9th Pass (40 turns old)
Place of Birth:
Fort Hold
Weyrmate or Spouse:
Yup - haven't named her yet

Your Reflection...

Appearance:
Daresik looks older than he is, covered in scars and the victim of early onset baldness, Daresik's hairline has been thinning since he hit 20 turns, but as long as his hair stays the dark, pitch black colour, he can retain some of his youthful looks.

Dressed in typically dark clothing, mostly because it's easier to disguise the bloodstains, he doesn't exactly take care of his appearance, a little dirty, a little scruffy and a little mismatched. Daresik only has a semblance of togetherness if his wife takes an interest in him that morning. After all, if he's going to be working for the peacekeepers, he can't look like a ruffian, he's one of the protectors of society.

Daresik is ridiculously tall, standing at about 6"5' and having to duck when he enters almost every room, occassionally having to walk through doorways sideways if they are made particularly narrow. He dwarfs anyone around him, even if someone could possibly match him for height, he is wide as well, broad shouldered, with muscles the perfect size make him a terrifying hulk of a man.

Response to 9th Pass Catastrophe: He just continued on his work everyday, sure, he didn't like it when his family members died, because he wanted to be able to use his strength for something to benefit his family, and when his fists are completely useless against thread, it just became another thing that he didn't understand that he had to just shove out of his mind. Dare would be entirely too overwhelmed by having to think about something as big and terrifying as constant thread
